Featured on Mar 26, 2024 by Null: The Francis Scott Key bridge, an important part of the Baltimore-D.C. I-695 Beltway, has collapsed after being impacted by a Singaporean cargo ship manned by a crew of 22 Indians.

Ya there is some glow here.HOLY SHIT THEY HAVE REMOVED THAT GUY THOUGH, It's just the motor guy now.
No shit. Baltimore/Maryland can't afford the hit and it'll take years to squeeze any money from the insurance companies.I said it in the thread; the federal government will be on the hook, somehow
And I was right:

For the record Buttigieg has traveled to Baltimore already and gave a press conference alongside local bigwigs. Biden's absence is more notable given that Baltimore is an hour away from DC at best, but he says he will visit Baltimore 'soon'.I'm honestly shocked Biden or Booty Judge sidn't fly out there right away. No, complete silence. Had the whole "East Palestine was White" rant ready and everything. On the one hand, maybe someone realized that exact look. On the other hand, that's probably giving The Adults in the Roomtoo much credit
They're 100% going to name the new bridge after a black guy. Baltimore just today passed (over the black mayors veto tbf) a proposal to rename the Columbus Obelisk to honor 'Victims of Police Violence'. Francis Scott Key ownedI was thinking the same thing. I would bet a months pay they won't name a new bridge after the guy who wrote The Star Spangled Banner. It's Baltimore though so they will probably go with a character from The Wire, not George Floyd.
It's refreshing to see a disaster like this where somebody did something right and it's not a cascade of failures. With the way things are in clown world I'm surprised they didn't somehow find a way to get MORE cars onto the bridge before it fell.Someone pressed the red button within seconds of the Mayday going out. I would love to know who they are.
I think this calls for reparationsActually, i think the racist white bridge kneeled on the poor brown cargo ship in a repeat of St Floyd murder. White devils must pay for this
He wants to start a family.Don't know wtf is causing Josh's recent mental spiral, shouldn't he be riding high with the money he was able to raise to fight bullshitters trying to destroy us and the net in general? Is there something else I missed?
That competence was forced out of the military. One thing the US military got really good at during WWII was opening up harbors where the enemy had wrecked the place - sunk multiple ships in the harbor, destroyed bridges, buildings, etc. They got harbors functional within days or weeks. Sounds like something where the military could provide guidance, if not actually supervising or doing the clearing. Only have one bridge down, no sunken ships, etc.
It's a clear case of shit maintenance, not terrorism, but AnN needs their spergout. This thread is exactly as exceptional as you think it would be.
I know that a lot of people have enjoyed meme'ing on the crew due to them being pajeets but it seems like they did follow procedure for the situation. They were able to declare a Mayday the moment they lost power which allowed the local police to close up the bridge preventing civilians from getting killed. While it is awful that six construction workers lost their lives it also could have been much worse if the crew didn't know what to do in the situation. This was a freak accident. Sucks but it happens.Yeah, it's tragic what occured I have to remind people this could have been far far worse. The local police closed traffic because the ship did send a mayday signal. Unfortunate for the construction workers but this is one of those jobs where you dying to to shit beyond your control destroying a construction site is accepted as part of the job.

Hasn't he been mulling over this for a while though? Whatever's happened is a bit more recent. He wants to start a family.
The ship was still way too old to be in service and/or not in good shape, no? this kind of thing usually does not happen without repeated incompetence over many years. It may not have been the fault of the 'jeets but someone else didn't keep things in order, and I have to guess they weren't western. Ships Singaporean and as others have said, not an amazing track record. Everything's been in a race to the bottom for decades. This isn't just a case of murphy's law.I know that a lot of people have enjoyed meme'ing on the crew due to them being pajeets but it seems like they did follow procedure for the situation. I wouldn't say it was a completely freak accident if the ship wasn't being properly maintained by its owners, but yeah it sounds like the crew didn't do anything wrong if it lost power or otherwise had a serious malfunction.I know that a lot of people have enjoyed meme'ing on the crew due to them being pajeets but it seems like they did follow procedure for the situation. It would appear that the anchor was deployed, see bottom right of the attached picture. Don't know if happened before or after the ship hit the bridge. If they deployed the anchor in a last ditch attempt to stop the boat, it could explain why in the video - it appears that the stern of the boat is swinging to the right while the bow is going to the left. Are there any photo's showing the anchor chains out yet?
I'm no master seamen but i think they should have dropped anchor at the 1st outage if they knew the power system was unstable.
Only thing that would make this better if that guy calls in this every week anytime a ship gets a bit ducky, and they always play along because eh why not.MDOT releases communications from the harbor control working the 1:30 AM graveyard.
"SOUTHSIDE, NORTHSIDE, HOLD ALL TRAFFIC KEY BRIDGE! SHIP APPROACHING HAS LOST ALL STEERING! UNTIL UNDER CONTROL STOP ALL TRAFFIC!
*Time skip*
MAKE SURE NOONE IS ON THE BRIDGE!
*Time skip*
313 DISPATCH, THE WHOLE BRIDGE JUST CAME DOWN!
Whoever that man is ordering the all stop, give him all the medals.
What percentage of posters here have actually been claiming this is some terror attack, exactly? I haven't read through all 50 pages of a thread that invites politisperging, but the first few didn't have been seeing that as a common narrative.God damn A&N has gotten so dimwitted and overrun with Groyper refugees that they've got me agreeing with Android Raptor. Fucking do better, damn.
MTA dispatch. I am sure they have Channel 16 in their dispatch center because the harbor is their responsibility. They dispatched units to block the bridge but sadly it sounds like they didn't have any contact info for the crew working on their bridge.Someone pressed the red button within seconds of the Mayday going out. I would love to know who they are.
Sometimes it's best to treat these things as just one of those tragic incidents that occured and sometimes you can do everything right and people still die.I know that a lot of people have enjoyed meme'ing on the crew due to them being pajeets but it seems like they did follow procedure for the situation. They were able to declare a Mayday the moment they lost power which allowed the local police to close up the bridge preventing civilians from getting killed. The crew was from Sri lanka, India, and Bangladesh. As for the ship it was an older maserk style ship and probably near the end of its lifespan. Second the deaths of innocent's were avoided, a Mayday call to The harbor and quick thinking by BMP saved lives. The only people who died were the construction crew. While tragic it is expected as part of the job that you might end up being a tragedy.Poor metalworks, engineers and others who built that bridge are rolling in their graves, their hard work gone in a instant and they didn't expect entire families to join them decades later.
If ship is owned by an American and captain is American death penalty or life in prison without parole would be in order. Let deaths of innocents haunt him to day he dies.
If chinks, bar the entire company entering American waters and trade there.
Fuck these bugmen, significant piece of history gone in a flash. It was stupidity or malice.
Sink the ship in open waters in any case
Look the shitting on pajeets shit gets old but I get it. As for the situation you have to remember 20% of the people are just drunk kingJFS level of intellect types screaming into their camera.God damn A&N has gotten so dimwitted and overrun with Groyper refugees that they've got me agreeing with Android Raptor. Fucking do better, damn.
Okay I needed the laugh here.
