No article yet as this just happened, but could be big. One of the largest bridges in the world according to Wikipedia.

Hearing reports in the livestream chat no one on the ship is responding to calls/radio/flashing lights/etc. They're just ignoring everyone, or unable to respond. Some are speculating the bridge (is that the right term?) was destroyed by the bridge as it collapsed.

Also, apparently as the ship comes into view, all it's lights go on and off repeatedly, before the crash. So it was possibly having some kind of electrical failure.

South Asians like Philippinos, Sri Lankans and such are all very common in the various ship related industries.
That makes sense. They are water peoples. Like Blacks with their monkey DNA and Whites with their dog DNA, I swear Asians of that heritage have partial fish DNA.

The chinese terror attack thing is just a schitzo theory/joke because the ship seems to be from singapore. Its more likely it was just a regularly scheduled cargo that had someone with too little sleep at the wheel
Like the Chinese even need to sabotage Baltimore. lol. That bridge going down probably harmed fewer people than the average month of black-on-black in Baltimore, which averaged 25 murders per month last year.

oh no there's a second boat

Yeah this being some sort of geopolitical chess move is just retarded, this is just Baltimore being Baltimore.

If the electrical system was down, then it's possible that the ship was unable to contact the port authorities due to radio malfunction. But the port authority should have known about the ship regardless of whether or not it was able to communicate.

That bridge's remains are still in the water.

Is the port... accessable?
It's not just the bridge but the ship is in the water at the bottom of the bay having gone down as well. And it is leaking fuel because they can smell it accumulating on the surface. They are going to need three full separate crews to clear the bridge from the water. Raise the ship somehow and move it out of the port. Then clean the entire port of leaked fuel and oil and whatever was in the cargo. This is a massive cleanup site for sure. Candidate for a super fund or something along those lines.

Someone cropped the part of the stream I was talking about, lights were flickering on and off?
It looked like they had a power failure. It also looks like as soon as it got restored they made a massive turn that put them directly in to the path of that support. Which is crazy, because from the video it looks like they would've completely avoided it if they had remained on course.

That makes me think there was a control issue, that it swung over like that towards the pylon. Either that, or intentionally.

But I mean, a lot of crazy things have happened with ships colliding with things. Like the Concordia and others, when it appears like they went out of their way to screw up.

That’s exactly how I saw it. I don’t really understand how giant ass ships move and turn but it sure looks like they aim right for the bridge support after the lights come back on.

Yeah, I putting this one up as a massive crew fuck up pending further evidence.

I went back and forth across this bridge regularly as a kid, always peering out the window thinking about something exactly like this. You catch yourself holding your breath until you’re on the downhill side. I can’t even be funny about it. I’m so sad and horrified for anyone who was on it.
I'm in the Bay Area and I feel this so hard. I do not like crossing those things.

And I've often thought that one would be fairly easy to totally block (in Railroad Tycoon). But cutting off port access never occurred to me.

Seems like it would be fairly easy for a sand rowdy to hijack one in port in the middle of the night.

My noggin is joggin here.

Took 5 years to build this bridge in the 70s. How long will it take to rebuild it?

It also cost $60.3 million dollars to build it ($308,789,732.67 when adjusted for inflation)
How much will it cost to rebuild it?

They're either going to try and get it rebuilt within five years so they can get some pictures of black people and women (and probably even black women) at the groundbreaking ceremony and brag about "how strong we are when we come together as Americans" or just never rebuild it so when someone asks "where does that road go?" you have to say "oh there used to be a bridge there but now it's gone and you have to drive through the city because fuck you."

if anything to go by the current year NIGGER way of working, at least 1 billion of which 500 mil will be used to build it and the rest will misteriosly dissapear plus it will need a 10 years to rebuild meanwhile they will just build roundbouts around it and connect it that way because the rest of the country will be sick of waiting lol
