Mass Effect Andromeda: Shitstorm Edition - RIP Biowear

Since the thread was bumped, is there a way to get that unused model in the game or have they removed it with the patches?

I skimmed through the thread and it was quite interesting to see that Bioware purposely shipped the game with no option for a white skin tone and only added a "white as a sheet of paper" skin in a later patch.

The default Ryder skin is supposed to be white. It just looks like complete shit.

I've seen this shit in discount bins for like $5.

I haven't seen it sold anywhere physically. Nor have I seen anyone discussing it other than to bag on it as the mess it was.

There's talk of remastering the first three games for "next generation." I think that's fairly good confirmation that Andromeda never happened, and the setting and series as a whole is pining for the fjords.

I still cannot understand how Andromeda came to be. How nobody at any point looked at this absolute garbage and didn't say "Time to scrap this and start over."

Nobody wanted this. I've said for years that they just needed to continue the series from the destroy ending. Some people weren't going to like it, but they needed to accept that their choices in the first trilogy lead to a lasting peace in the galaxy and that was the end. To continue the series the best bet was to go for a galaxy where everyone was pretty much on equal footing after all the destruction they faced with the Reapers.

Hell, it even would have worked better for their weird "wild west" ideas they seemed to have with Andromeda. If having synthetics was so damn important they could have just retconned it so that something someone did while building the crucible changed shit up and it ended up only wiping out Reaper tech and not all synthetic life or something.

I feel like this remaster that has been rumored to be in development for half a decade now would be a good time to subtly change a few things that they'd like to continue the series from ME3 but they'll probably just do an upscale port for consoles if it's even legit.

Here's a crazy idea:

If Bioware wanted to make another Mass Effect property, why not Mass Effect: First Contact? Accidentally get into a border skirmish with the Turian Hierarchy, meet aliens, establish diplomacy, set up colonies, fight off batarian pirates, and finally earn recognition from the Citadel Council.

It wasn't a terrible game, just so forgettable and average that despite playing through ME1-3 multiple times, I completed this once and never touched it again. The plot was contrived, the enemy race incredibly generic (if you'd been able to choose a side or try and broker peace it would have been far more interesting), awful UI, unlikeable characters and being able to access all powers and roles felt like it removed most of the tactics from combat. On the plus side the combat could still be smooth and fun, and some of the planet vistas were beautiful.

Never played, but I'm glad it exists because I saw the hilarious cutscene in which a female Krogan with a laughable tranny voice power walks over to a bad guy and punches him into compliance with tiny, tiny arms. Afterwards the Krogan gets all sassy in the gayest voice imaginable. It's like a joke but it isn't.

It something that still brings a smile to my face.
