It still might be. The only problem is that with decentralization sometimes there become autistic mini-echochamber fringe groups. Once again, since there are no real rules ("don't be a bigot" is intentionally cryptic), this is how this shit goes. The Admin didn't even give a reason for banning. He's a total lapdog willing to roll over for these people, and they're still not satisfied. The only way to be absolved of transphobia is to actually be trans.

It's also notable that the people who are complaining about the mass-reportings on Twitter (i.e. centrists, conservatives, anyone "TERFy" reporting leftists for telling them that they should be worked to death in a gulag and then lefties being shook when twitter bans them) are doing the same to Wheaton for... having said literally nothing problematic.

I think transgenderism is a new thing, inasmuch as it's a form of speshul snowflake identity that you can opt into. This makes it a natural magnet for #woke attention-seekers, like so many of the people exhaustively documented on this website.

I think that's a bit of a reach. They probably do it because it's "quirky" or derogatory- calling Twitter, a ~16 billion dollar business, a "bird website" is an attempt to belittle it and prop Mastodon up as an equal, or, even more hilarious, a superior alternative despite the fact that Twitter is a well-known social media giant and Mastodon is an inefficient circlejerk.
