Does anyone have any clear idea what it is these people actually want? Doesn't look like it would be too hard to set up your own instance of a squalid pool of rancid troon degeneracy where you get to exclude all the tech bros sperging about Star Trek or whatever, right?

That's not what they want. well they want that but they also want woke Twitter 2.0 where everyone has to respect them even if they're not in the same instance.

It's also worth mentioning that anyone who complains about a social media website being "gentrified" doesn't know what gentrification is or doesn't take it seriously. One situation forces the impoverished to sell their houses and move away because they can no longer afford the cost of living in their own homes. In the other you come in more contact with white people while browsing online but literally nothing else happens.

Not to a-log but the "brown queer trans woman" who wrote that is a baby with no real problems if they think those are the same thing.

They want complete control over any site without actually having to work on one. No amount of being progressive or accepting will be enough because the goalposts are always shifting. The 1984 comparison is very overplayed by this point but thats because it encapsulates it well. If you aren't extremely online and woke enough you'll never be able to decipher whether we're at war with east asia or eurasia so you'll just have to accept what they tell you to think because its easier.

Holy fuck this article is hilarious. "Boohoo why doesn't a Russian-German programmer bow to me, Queen Californian Troon?!! I don't care site will hemorrhage its isolated userbase without discoverability, I'm too tech illiterate to set up my own Discord!".

It's really fucking telling these people want social media but also want to remain isolated and untouchable.

What they want is basically a blog with comments off. They want to be seen, but they want absolutely no feedback whatsoever unless it's 100% positive. The problem is, WordPress blogs aren't hip like they were in the mid-2000s right before the dawn of social media when everyone and their grandma made a blog.

I would create a system where you have to chose your gender and sexuality and everyone who is anything other than f/m , straight and non- troon gets banned immediately just to spite these entitled fuckers.
