What you say is true in the present day, but has not always been true of punk. A lot of punk rock in the 80s was "working class" driven and anti-intellectual. Even prominent 1990s figures like Ben Weasel and Joe Queer (both mere pop-punkers) are examples of anti-PC culture in punk that is now a distant memory. But guys like Gavin and Beersoy seem to retain the notion that some vestige of that punk era still survives. Of course a strand of that attitude undoubtedly continues today in some narrow sense, but it has been drowned out by victim culture pandering and although i don't follow it, I strongly suspect there's a loud movement of punk trannies and enablers who are looking to rebrand Screeching Weasel and The Queers as being on a level with Skrewdriver.
There may be some validity to this.
I did a bit of Googling that led me down a rabbit hole.
Interestingly enough, The Queers
played a show in Beardson's hometown of Metropolis, IL (population 6,500), back in 2006. According to
@BigSodaSlade, this was likely around the time that Beardson was kicked out of high school.
In the late 2000s, The Queers also
played a few shows in Paducah, KY (population 25,000), where Beardson currently resides.
Here's where it gets a bit more interesting.
In 2010, The Queers recorded their 11th studio album,
Back to the Basement, at
Loud and Clear Studio in Paducah, KY. The album includes tracks such as "Fucked in The Head," "Keep it Punk," and a cover of "White Minority."
The Queers drummer,
Alex "Hoglog Rehab" Martin, resides in...you guessed it, Paducah, KY.
