most of this is true, but not completely. much of the sweat was policing whatever was happening on twitter, and in order to enjoy some of it you definitely had to be familiar with whatever was popular on twitter at the time. but as far as alt media went, their influence cant be discounted. they had spencer and metokur on in 17, along with sam hyde multiple times. eggy was a regular guest and so was fuentes. i dont think the goal was ever to branch out of alt-media, but shawn regularly went viral on twitter and was associated with lots of bigger normie accounts there. paul town's the same way and also authored some books that got a good amount of attention in niche literature circles.

Nick did the documentary correctly because he wasn't trying to hide anything or pretend he's something he is not. A guy like Louis can't get a person if they are calm, collected, and straight forward. But what he does like is freaks who lie.
Beardson is just the type of guy who is always bullshitting, always telling tall tales, pretending to be something he is not; these guys are the ones who fuck you over and bring drama. Baked Alaska is the same, they're always flying off the handle and behaving desperately.

That's definitely how I remember it. First of all, the idea that the Weekly Sweat was this important, influential show is absurd. There were a LOT of alt-media shows back then, and it was one of the lesser well-known ones. Outside of its ironybro audience, it only ever broke through once, with the Patrick Little interview (and at least a chunk of that was negative, due to Shawn's "fuck the troops" and Fuentes laughing like a hyena at it).

Second, the few times I saw people talking about it, it was nothing positive about Beardshit. Even back then everyone hated him. Shawn was the draw. He had been in IE and still had good relationships with some people in the wider movement, and he did have a notable presence on twitter. All Beardson did was scream at guests.

Just to lean in on my first point again, this is the same time period where people like James Allsup, Red Ice, Iconoclast, and other alt-right shows were getting hundreds of thousands of views. The Weekly Sweat was fucking minuscule in comparison. The Guntstream dwarfed them :gunt: Unless you were part of their core ironybro audience, I doubt they were ever anything more than a vague mention for most people in that sphere.

Does anyone even hate watch anymore? Ever since his divorce, there hasn't really been any happenings on the Beardson front. It's just him acting like a retard every single stream, nothing new for the most part.
