US Matt Gaetz Withdraws From Consideration as Attorney General

Matt Gaetz is withdrawing from consideration to be US attorney general in a major defeat for conservatives who wanted him to overhaul the Justice Department in President-elect Donald Trump’s administration.

“It is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition,” Gaetz tweeted Thursday. “There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General.”

Gaetz, 42, a former congressman from Florida, came under intense scrutiny in response to a long-running House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations that he engaged in sexual misconduct, including having sex with a minor. The Justice Department also investigated Gaetz for alleged sex trafficking of a minor but informed his lawyers last year that the probe was closed without charges.

Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing.

The decision to withdraw Gaetz from consideration represents a stinging rebuke for Trump when it comes to one of his first key moves as he prepares to take office. Gaetz was seen as a top choice to carry out Trump’s hard-line agenda on immigration, policing and other hot-button social issues.

Trump has indicated that he’ll push for a radical transformation of the Justice Department, which has more than 115,000 employees. The department sits at the apex of the machinery that Trump will need to carry out his agenda from enforcing federal laws to litigating controversial matters. It also plays a key role in doling out billions of dollars in grant funding for immigration enforcement, border security and policing.

Oof! The fact that Trump had Bondi waiting in the wings ready to be announced like an hour after Gaetz withdrew does make you think. Did he just completely play them? Throw out a highly controversial problematic pick to get torn to shreds in order to slap them with Bondi? Who they now find themselves unable to wage an attack on? At least not without seeming like misogynistic sex pests.

I'm gonna say its greater than 75% that whoever the AG is will be a zionist, a jew, or both. Miriam Adelson helped trump win. She's the widow to Sheldon Adelson, who was Trump's biggest donor in 2016. Do the math.
Good luck finding an elected Republican who ISN'T a Zionist. The party is zogged from the top down and AIPAC dumps metric fucktons of money keeping it that way (remember that one primary in Texas?)
Am sure President Trump will find someone to do the job the way he wants it done. Suggest he may be saving 'silver bullets' to get Pete Hegseth in as SecDef.
I heard he's also targeted by RINOs in the Senate. They spend more time fighting Trump's picks than they ever did Obama or Biden's picks. The party of losers must keep losing!

She's had two divorces already and no children, that sounds like a woman with values liberal individuals can get behind.

Can both parties just NOT put up people who are credibly accused of being sex pests, if not outright rapists?
Guy is a child fucker apologist, he should never have been considered in the first place. I dont care if your left right or center if you been around or involved in fucking children you should get the rope .........
That you, Sunny Hostin?

Cool, my suspicious were correct. Now, let's get rid of Ramaswamy next.
Why? He's based af.

Bondi is 59.

She looks like 40. Hot. 40.

Fuck this is the hottest cabinet picks in modern history.
Sorry to rain on your gooning parade, but I think Bondi is pretty lukewarm (politically). Even the outrage from the MSM feels dialed in, you don't typically insult somebody by saying they are competent.

Sure, she's loyal to Trump, but for this administration, specifically for the AG, loyalty alone isn't going to be enough. I really hope I'll be proven wrong about her, but at least Gaetz has a reason to actually want to crush the goddamn deep state, considering they tried very hard to crush him. How's DOGE supposed to do what it is supposed to if they draw out the legal challenges?
Maybe there's more to this play, like allowing Gaetz to be a special prosecutor or something. With that said, anybody claiming that Gaetz was some sort of 5D chess pick to "draw out the traitorous uniparty rats" or whatever is in a state of cope. We already know who they are - none of the rumored no votes were a surprise in the slightest. This is just going to embolden those snakes going forward, forcing Trump to pick more moderate, and therefore corruptible cabinet members.

Normally you don't resign until after you get confirmed, which is why it was such a red flag, especially when it was 2 days before the ethic report was likely to go public.

I wonder if that was a Big Brain move to get his disruptive ass out of Congress. There is no way they thought he could get confirmed.

Bondi is 59.

Dayum...Hottest piece of ass in The Villages.
