I think you might be somewhat right, but I think it might be more of an autism thing that causes the overlap between troons and programmers. There's a big overlap between autists and troons, as well as a big overlap between autists and programmers.

Also, from my experience, it's rare to see a troon in a professional programming position. They tend to show up doing more hobbyist programming like writing emulators and working on open source projects. This is because autistic people tend to be bad at personal responsibility, and thus don't do very well in a professional setting.

For that reason I'm more inclined to say it's more of a bizarre byproduct of autism that "smart" people are trooning out.

A somewhat related but historical parallel that I've found relevant and have mentioned in other threads - Eunuchs in Ancient China.
Eunuchs were powerful political players in ancient Chinese government. Originating as trusted slaves in the royal household they were ambitious to use their favoured position to gain political power. Advising the emperor from within the palace and blocking the access of officials to their ruler, the eunuchs were eventually able to acquire noble titles themselves, form a bureaucracy to rival the state's and even select and remove emperors of their choosing. Their influence on government would result in the falling of dynasties and last right up to the 17th century CE.

That's a truly optimistic outlook. Most "regular people" finding out about this aren't doing so through twitter threads, they're looking at these articles by news organizations that do their "research" by playing a game of broken telephone. The only thing they'll see is the the same regurgitated narrative.
Some may bother to actually look into primary sources, but the majority will thoughtlessly eat up whatever's fed to them by media outlets.

Even on leftist-infested shitholes like Gamefaqs there's screenshots of people wondering just what we did that was so wrong we should lose our rights to free speech. The official narrative has so many holes in it that anyone with any semblance of critical thinking is left wondering. A website allegedly driving people to suicide is bad, but not a crime to many people, and the "imminent and emergency threat" fools no one who wouldn't already hate this place.

Shit sucks man, I had a few trans friends that got eaten by the machine. Things were going fine but either family disowned them, or some of their former friends rejected their new identity; turning them towards the weird radical trans movement. Sadly, I too stopped talking to them due to it becoming the only thing they could ever talk about, and any nuance to a topic involving trans issues meant I was a enemy. It's impossible to keep someone sane when they are in too deep: breaking a cults grasp on someone is just too hard.

No doubt autism plays a part, but that doesn't preclude them from the category of people with above room temp IQ's. I'm not well versed on what the DSM criteria of autism are, but I'd imagine fixation is a big part of it. If that is the case, it would certainly explain why you can go from shut in neet with access to the internet, to a programmer, to a tranny, and then finally to the punultimate boss of the farms, Keffals' TroonCo who have LITERALLY nothing better to do with their time than seethe and attempt gayops to shut down a site that talks about them.

Even in FOSS projects, it's not homogeneously distributed. Sure, things like the linux kernel (being so big) will have a nice distribution of people working on it. But you see a lot more diversity in some kinds of projects/communities/languages than others. I believe languages like Rust have had more of them than, say, C projects.

It's anecdotal, of course.

But there are a bunch of projects (SerenityOS, for instance) that have less-than-progressive codes of conduct that aren't conducive to the entryism that we've been seeing in FOSS projects.

A side-note: they are using this to dismantle and castrate the political and disruptive edge of open source and freedom-respecting software, by filling projects committees and leadership positions with ‘diverse’ corporate drones because it looks good they manage to steer their goals into producing software for big companies for free, instead of being “free as in freedom” software.

It's the same reason why the linux foundation is filled with MS shills and doesn't respect Torvalds, and why Stallman got so readily cancelled. It's fucking depressing.

The press are scum. You will never be a developer. 0xFFFFFFFFFFF dead soydevs.
