🌟 Internet Famous Max Karson / mrgirl - Pedophile pseudo-intellectual, master/suicide baiter, school shooter white-knight

I genuinely didn't believe anyone in the modern era would ever flash "I'm in Mensa" because it's as easy as passing an IQ test and scoring high, which let's be real, IQ tests are the most retarded way to grade the measure of someone's actual intellect.
You don't, "pass", an IQ test, it's just a measurement of your intelligence. Originally, it was made to tell the difference between normal kids and the mentally disabled. It has never gone away and is still used because it's the most accurate tool with have in measuring people's intelligence. If you get a high score then yeah, you're probably pretty smart in a conventional sense but an IQ test is divided up into multiple categories so you can score very much above average in some categories and low in other categories and your score can still come out as the average despite you having a specialization that is far above average. Think about it as skill point distribution in a video game, IQ is how many points you have to allocate but it's still possible for someone who has 15 points to have some stats higher than someone with even double that based on how they're distributed.

It doesn't. It proves that he can score high on an intelligence test. Intelligence tests, like any kind of test, can be studied for, even gamed. Plenty of people do it all the time to prove something or grant themselves credibility when they otherwise have none. See: Chris Langan.
This is beyond cope. You are stupid and dumb. If you study hard for an IQ test, you might bump up your score by 0.25 SD, or at most, half an SD. This will not get you into Mensa if you aren't already near the 98th percentile they require. And either way, you aren't improving your g-factor (the spot inside pussy). You basically cannot change your fluid intelligence, which is what IQ tests measure.

I would imagine a plurality of KF users could qualify.
I think Kiwi Farms users are pretty average in intelligence. Possibly even below average. Intellectually speaking, the people who spend their time tormenting mentally ill, low-IQ lolcows aren't really that far off from them. Outside a few very specific threads, the people on here are not "smart". From what I've seen, they struggle with abstract logic and any arguments that require it. They also tend to be somewhat culturally illiterate, but that's beside the point.

The primary benefit of joining MENSA is the networking possibilities, which is itself a tacit admission that you've failed to network properly absent a MENSA membership. You also have to pay an annual fee to join and remain a member. Unless you have the specific problem of needing additional networking opportunities for which this is the solution, then you're basically buying validation of your own intelligence, which is remarkably unintelligent behavior.
You can see the glaring flaw in the idea of using an intelligence score as one's credentials by looking at the history of intelligence tests.

Originally they were primarily for finding cognitive deficits in children. Generally you don't need intelligence testing for healthy adults because, unlike young children, you can simply talk to them and consider their life history.

If an adult has a high IQ score but has failed miserably in every aspect of their life, you have to question the applicability of the test.

If an adult is successful and has significant intellectual accomplishments but has a low score, you should consider throwing out the test altogether.

There's no case in which you should consider the adult test score definitive. Taking the test and using the results as a signal of one's own intelligence is, in that light, strong evidence of no actual accomplishments that demonstrate the same.

If you fancy yourself an übermensch why not get a position as a physicist or philosopher at an elite university? Or join a research project doing something useful? Become a doctor and cure a particularly insidious disease?

And supposing you do have a high IQ and nothing to show for it, what should the listener think? That you squandered your abilities? That you're otherwise so dysfunctional that you failed at life despite intelligence and effort? Congratulations, I guess.

Mensa used to have some pretty good discounts for members. Granted, I originally joined because 'lol smart', but after that, I'd pay membership dues every three or so years, basically whenever someone noticed the expiration date on the card I was using for a discount was super expired. This was also back when membership dues were like 60 bucks a year, and I saved more than that with the discount on car insurance alone. I stopped once they started gating the discounts behind an online portal.

I just looked at what annual dues have gone up to, and they've nearly doubled. They've also lost a lot of the good discounts they used to have. Literally no good reason to join at this point other than to flex that you're a midwit.

You can take IQ tests as many times as you like and brute force your way to a higher IQ score. It's been done before by people as simple and unimaginative as yourself. In addition to Chris Langan you can also see Rick Rosner as another famous IQ test expert who, in reality, has the mental horsepower of a wet pillow.

As the highest IQ individual in the thread (135 FSIQ on the WAIS-IV, suck it), trust me, they're valid.

Anyways, Max Karson probably got in by scoring high on the MENSA issued tests and not via his IQ anyways.

Chris Langan was able to retake the same test with the same problems by giving a false name the first time (he scored significantly worse) and then taking the test under his real name already knowing the test problems in advance, so he didn't brute force anything he just cheated. Practicing for IQ tests by testing yourself with various IQ tests might make you more familiar with the problems and there might be some effects that are difficult to measure that would improve your score, but an average IQ individual is not going to be able to practice his way to a significantly higher IQ test score.

Never even heard of this organization before but this is all I could think of with a name like that.

That's literally what brute forcing is. Trial and error, over and over, until you get it right.
but an average IQ individual is not going to be able to practice his way to a significantly higher IQ test score.
It depends on what you consider "average," but my guess is that someone slightly to the right of the bell curve could influence an IQ test significantly with enough pre-test prep. Honestly, it sounds like a fun experiment. I'd be willing to put this to the test except I don't have the time it would take to actually brute force my way into mensa right now, and also paying mensa for an IQ test automatically proves that you're retarded. I think it would be an interesting thing to try in the future for fun.

There's nothing wrong with being in MENSA, but if you have a high IQ and the only thing you've ever done with it is get into a high IQ society, then you are broadcasting to everyone else that life handed you all the tools to be successful and you somehow fumbled them. You were gifted a fast car and managed to never win a race.

That said, I don't buy the cope from dummies that anyone can score +2 SD on an IQ test if they just study enough. Lots of people say shit like this but I've never seen anyone actually follow through on it.

One Time I was flying to Reno for work, im sitting in the airport and I look over and see the one and only Neil Breen, I say hi and strike up a convo. Apparently he paid to be a guest of honor at a Mensa convention and was on the same flight. In fact the entire flight was booked by Mensa people going to this conference.

I was never more assured I was going to die in a plane crash because God could not pass up such a funny headline as "Mensa wiped out all members took the same flight"

This is the Neil Breeniest story about Neil Breen in all the Neil Breeniverse :story:

There's more to life than being intelligent. Plenty of intelligent people are fucked up in other ways and struggle because of it. IQ is correlated with success, but so is resilience (marshmallow test), and so is the ability to lie to yourself and others (that test the two drunk dudes made up where they ask whether you enjoy your bowel movements). Anyway that reasoning also operates on the belief that society is meritocratic, which is the lowest IQ trait of all.

I took the mensa practice test out of curiosity like a year ago and got 133 or something and my life has been a trainwreck but I'm pretty sure that has less to do with the legitimacy of the test and more to do with the untreated PTSD and alcoholism.

ETA: also if you're racist then the comparative average IQ scores of various races is all the proof you should need. If you're not racist, then it explains why you're against IQ.

This guy is either really butthurt that his own mensa card has been deboonked and devalued by mr.pedo, or this guy IS mr.pedo.
Judging by his writing style and smarter-than-thou attitude, I'm guesing the latter. If so, hi max.

Why dont you go ahead and have a seat, have a seat right over here.

I tried looking at his profile to see if he's active anywhere else on the site or just in his thread, but the coward has his privacy screen on like a coward. I really hate this gay feature.
