Careercow Max Landis

Hey guys! I've been away from the Farms for a while now, but I was watching the latest Mad at the Internet at work and was very surprised to see my friend's post and mine thread read on the stream. I'd love to clear up why we're being so vague and anonymous and that's for a couple reasons:
1) as I mentioned upthread, we are VERY afraid of legal action from him. He has money and extremely powerful lawyers (remember how Max's dad, John Landis, got off for murdering 3 people on one of his film sets? Yeah) and his victims have none of that. We have no way to fight back if this goes legal so we're doing whatever we can to protect ourselves, should it come to that.
2) we are working with reporters to compile our evidence and stories into one place for all to see soon. In the past couple days, 4 more women he violated and abused have joined the fray. We are going to be telling all of our stories anonymously to further cover our asses, Whitney's included. So you WILL find out what happened to her, just without her name attatched. (Hint: it's some more rape!)

I do agree that Whitney's post was frustratingly vague from an outside perspective but she's scared, just as we all are, of putting too much out there ourselves. We're just trying to check all our boxes and do this right so we can take this motherfucker down for good. I know thats not very exciting for the Farms but I think it's what we have to do. Trust us that we're working on getting all these voices heard and into your eyeballs very soon.

Hopefully this takes him down. A lot of people here don't believe the women, but if you're from LA, you hear about Max being a psycho constantly, although until recently, I didn't know how much of that was really true (Like him physically beating women up and somehow getting away with it).

Anyways, I know you can't speak to some of the stuff in the article or who you're taking this to, but is it a reputable outlet like the NYTimes? If it's from somewhere big, it might be what finally ends him.

She said he repeatedly tried to kiss her as she kept turning her head to dodge him. “I kept saying no,” she wrote. “Specifically, I stated the following: “This is a really bad idea. Stop. Please, no, this is a really bad idea. No, stop.’ (Repeated a dozen or so times.)” ...

...She said she then pretended to fall asleep when he finally stopped trying and eventually fell asleep. She stayed up the rest of the night in fear that he would wake up and dreaded their drive back the next day.

Excuse me what? did she try to possum her way out of a rape, or are there a few scenes missing here?

Does 'danger hair' apply to guys as well? Wait, not sure if he counts as a guy.

I forgot about that. Didn't realize John Landis was involved in that film as well. The footage of the deaths are on youtube. Very sad to watch. :(

Police first, then reporters.

I literally have no doubt that Landis would rape, but this dumb game of accusations FIRST, then media, and finally evidence. Why should anyone believe you after you've gone out of your way to smear someone BEFORE dropping any evidence.

I ain't one of them fire and brimstone types but every time I read about Hollywood I think the Lord needs to smite the whole city like he did Sodom and Gomorrah.
"Disaster will come upon you, and you will not know how to conjure it away. A calamity will fall upon you that you cannot ward off with a ransom; a catastrophe you cannot foresee will suddenly come upon you." - Isaiah 47:11, originally about Babylon but just as applicable to any rotting decadent society

I'm hearing you loud and clear and accept I may be part of the problem. I'm not here to defend myself. I know how I have spoken up and like to think I help women around me, not hurt them.

I don't exclusively work film and tv so I have a bit of distance. It was more pie in the sky thinking of not wanting to dox myself, open myself up to actual IRL bullshit from the Landis's of the world. Which isn't an issue. I'm insignificant. But better safe than sorry.

You know, this immediate default to self preservation of career and lifstyle is one of the reasons this type of predatory behavior is completely infesting Hollywood. I'm not saying nuke your career, but it's something to reflect on at the very least.

Food for thought.
I hope sincerly for true victims of this man, and the victims of other people like him if you know about any, that civil litigation won't be enough in the future to keep you from doing what's right, and exposing these vile pieces of human garbage.

I try to be kind and fair with people. But if I knew about something, or even had evidence of it, as you claim, being sued would be irrelevant to me.

Hollywood will always be like this if people are unwilling to stop being part of the problem.

This is way easier said than done. Getting in the line of fire of a high-profile lawyer defending some asshat like a Hollywood Sex Pest will ruin your life. And I don't mean "You might have to get a new job or even move to a different city", I'm talking "never get an employment ever again and even if you do, it won't matter since you'll paying through your nose for the cost that was shoveled unto you by that lawyer over a fraudulent defamation lawsuit."

Sadly, even evidence is meaningless, since these people are specialized in making even hard evidence useless. That's one of the reasons why people like Weinstein got away for so long. That's why people like Corey Feldmann can't do anything about what happened to them, even though their acting careers are long past over.
Dunno how much money the Landis clan has at their disposal, but imagine someone accusing Spielberg of pedophilia, said person would be buried under lawsuits from Spielberg in no time.

In a way, the braindead #metoo movement was at least effective, even though it was a witchhunt and most people that spoke out were attentionwhores that literally sold their bodies out of their own free will in exchange for an acting career (which is still insanely sleazy, but it's not rape).

The authorities are involved in some specific cases, but the point of this is not to press charges, but to raise enough awareness to blacklist him out of the industry we all work in. The LAPD wouldn't give a fuck about this and we know that. We're not stupid.
There is evidence, but I can't post it here. Again, I know that's disappointing but we have to protect ourselves from potential legal action. That's the biggest threat to us right now because we're poor nobodies.

blacklist him out of the industry
This is what every witch hunt in the history of the world has been about. Deservedly or otherwise, if you think you'll receive less scrutiny doing this than you would pressing charges, you're fooling yourselves, and you're potentially endangering people outside your beloved industry while you do so by not leveraging the law as it was meant.

All that said, if he's guilty I hope they cut his balls off.

That anyone would cheer for your form of justice is legitimately terrifying. Everyone deserves a defense, but that becomes impossible when the accusations are vague and anonymous. Even so, you already made a claim that was demonstrably untrue. You said John Landis murdered three people. Not only did the court find that be not true, he was never even charged with murder.

This is why you're afraid. It's not because Max Landis has extremely powerful lawyers, it's that someone might start poking holes in your story if it were put under an ounce of scrutiny. There's $24 million dollars in the Time's Up GoFundMe and you could easily make your own. You have the full support of the public and the media. Everyone is on your side, yet you want to claim otherwise.

Bill Cosby is sitting in a jail cell right now so don't try to feed us some bullshit about how the son of a washed up director is untouchable.

I never really thought about it before, but Earthbound had a bunch of references to John Landis' work.

:story: NO!

But Spacey ruined the fuckin' "I'm actually gay, you dumb hookers" defense.

I thought all the people asscusing Spacey were male whores or just young guys. I don’t recall any women tbh.

I think Spacey would have appreciated a lady throwing an accusation his way since he was such a closet case for decades. A sex lady accusing him of being a brute is the modern version of the studio setting up female companions for Rock Hudson for the paps.

Attempting to blacklist someone with "secret evidence" is the definition of ASKING for legal action.
