MBTI Personality Test

MBTI is worthless as a personality test, but I like it as a creative writing tool. It gives you an interesting range of different personalities that you can play with. Much better than the zodiac.

I am INTJ. ENTJ's are the coolest.
Im ENTJ

Those questions are horrible and I gave up at question 9;

Which is more true of you?

1. I like spending time with others, but I predominantly get my energy and focus from being alone.
2. I like spending time alone, but I am predominantly energized by activities that involve spending time with others.

Both options describe an ambivert person, who can do it all. Introverts, who get their energy from being alone, like to be alone. Extroverts, who like to be around other people, get their energy there. What If I'm one of those people?

Oh, MBTI, I used to play this with my friends when I was younger, it's like those just for fun online quizzes, like "Which Disney Princess are you?"

I've gotten ESTP, ENTP, INFP, ESFP. If they're to be believed, then I'm a skitzo.

I don't hold much stock in these for various reasons, but my result was INFP, for whatever that's worth. Go nuts.

I think every user on this site, including myself, has the personality type FAGT.

I kid, I kid.

That said, the thing I find kind of fucking dumb about this whole MBTI thing is that a lot of people will take it, get results and go “oh heh yeah that’s me” and go on with life… but… there’s a smaller and incredibly vocal segment who will take it, get results and go “oh look! I got personality type EDGE! That means I have an excuse to be a massive fucking asshole because I can’t help it!”
Nibba, if you’re going to be an asshole, own it. Don’t hide behind some out of your control personality type excuse because if you’re that self aware, then your assholery is a choice, not a hardwired trait.

INTJ (was a teenage INTP who evolved) and I want a poll to see how kiwis are stacking up.
I like my neighbour types ENTJs and the INTP space cadets, but I struggle with ISTJs and their detail oriented linear thinking. I keep attracting ENFPs, for some reason.
I think MBTI is pretty useful as a corporate HR horoscope but the Enneagram is where its really at if you want to actually know someone.

Oh, wow. It's been a while since I've seen this thread. I actually had someone type me for fun, and he was far more knowledgeable of Jung's original work. ISTJ was what I was typed as, and looking at more explanations solidified it for me. For everyone here, the tests and most resources are bunk, as the tests have an N bias and don't always work with the functions, whereas other resources are generally inept at describing certain functions. Examples include the Si function, where most resources describe it as, "memory, structure, the past." Si is more like the impression of the past within the present moment. Think of two painters painting a scene, and how the art may differ in color, lighting, and other things.

If you want to dive into Jung's original work of the functions, I was recommended Psychological Types. It's free on Google, and chapter X is where you'll find his descriptions. A warning: It's a bit dense, and it's recommended to either read from the start, or perhaps even familiarize yourself with Jung through his other work, like Man and His Symbols.

Well, the core takeaways from Jung's original work are that the types aren't really personality types but a person's tendency to rely on one psychological function as opposed to another (maybe with a soft exception of introversion/extraversion but that is also extremely reductive). It is not implied that a human can only be one or the other. The original intent of this classification was to have something to start with when analyzing disorders. Jung himself was strongly against excessively universal categorization when it comes to treatment and would probably find MBTI to be kind of funny.

So, in other words, MBTI isn't entirely bunk, but the concepts underlying it are completely misunderstood by contemporaries.

*looks up which one is the most special and unique and smarterest*

Yep, that’s me.

INTJ-A

A "logic-autist" whose brain automatically filters everything into one large probability pattern, who's learned how to disguise as a regular person, at least for the purposes of basic conversation. It kind of sucks, tbh. I don't know why everyone glamorizes us.
