McDonalds - I'm Lovin' It

I don't really eat McDonald's or Burger King anymore, especially since there are lots of places nearby that sell tastier and more filling food for pretty much the same price, but that signature McSmell always gets me in the nostalgia. There's a fairly nice McDonald's at one of our bigger local train stations (to frequent tourists the name "nyugati" might ring a bell), I like to just chill in that one for a bit every once in a while:

Apparently there used to be a fancy restaurant in its stead during the 19th century, though I'm not sure what used to be there afterwards till McDonald's started showing up in Hungary later during 1988.

Well at least they cared to keep the building in one piece like that.

McChicken McGriddles aren't great cuisine but they're good for two bucks. I bet if Checkers did one it would be really good.

The shamrock shakes are back, and Ive never been happier. I love them so much.
Last time I picked up a McDonalds shake it was basically just melted cool ice cream. Massively disappointed that they stopped the Diabetes conjuring TRIPLE THICC SHAKES. A quality Milkshake should always at first be challenging to drink with a straw.

Ever since I worked at the airport, the only cheap food we have is shit from the vending machine and McDonalds; even then, the Mcdonalds in the airposrt is still slightly pricey with my airport discount.
What I need is the motivation to make my own lunch after coming home late from work or before going to work 2.5 hours earlier to bypass traffic and TSA.

Have any of you guys tried their new fancy deluxe burgers? I had the mushroom and swiss one the other day, but I must admit it's no replacement for five guys!

There's a McDonald's near me that was across from a Walmart with a McDonald's in it (like the drive through actually goes into the parking lot).

Full store's obviously better than windowdressing, and eventually the one in the Walmart closed and the local Subway moved in from a dingy little shop and got much better. Shame they didn't keep the red HI-C in the drink machine.

Awhile ago the full store remodeled, and that'd normally be a good thing. Except they were the only place with a Play Place in 25 miles and they had a GameCube with Mario Sunshine in one of those little display cabinets. Those things were my childhood and they straight junked the TV and console even though they worked fine. Well, as fine as they could be after 15 or so years of operation. Disgusting controller, though.

If I ever come across one of those things again, come hell or high water I'm going to try and buy it.

I doubt I will ever eat any meat from McD's again, but I wouldn't might their pies or crossants (mind you, there aren't good as the "real" thing, but it is at least acceptable).

McDonald's will sometimes repurpose existing buildings if the codes are really strict. I think there's one somewhere in NY that was repurposed from a 19th century mansion. There was also one in Detroit that took over a Packard dealership and was once one of the largest in the US, but it closed a long ass time ago and was torn down.

I remember that there were a couple towns near me where they had a McDonald's in the Walmart and another in the parking lot. Made no sense. In one case, the Walmart was converted from another store, so the layout was all wonky and very un-Walmart-like.

We also had a lot of Meijer stores that had McDonald's in them. In a few cases, the McDonald's was up on a hard-to-access mezzanine so it never got any traffic. Another friend told me that the one in the Meijer near him was so slow that they were always able to cook everything to order.

I also once saw an exit that had a regular McDonald's on one side of the road, and a gas station with a "McDonald's Express" on the other side.

I had a Big Mac Bacon. It's a Big Mac with bacon.

Not much to really say about it, other than that it is good bacon, and the exact right degree of crispness where it actually breaks off so there's still bacon in the last bite.

Recently watched Supersize Me and wow...what an exceptional idoit that guy was.

Don't get me wrong, that documentary was entertaining and all, but I don't really think there is anybody exceptional enough out there to think it's a good idea to eat nothing but McDonald's for every meal for a month, not to mention how expensive that would get.

I get what the guy was trying to do, but it comes off as very disingenuous.

Also his vegan girlfriend was ugly and annoying.

I haven't had McDonalds since I was 11. Tried it again around 2017 and got extremely sick. So I stay away from it.
lol, I watched that movie "The Founder" relatively recently and of course I had a sudden craving for McDonald's when I hadn't had any for years. We got some Mickey D's after the movie.

The movie was great, the food was...ok. Glad I don't eat that shit regularly anymore.

I recall a McDonald's that took over a vacant bank in my area, someone made a video about it being stunned one looked like that. That location no longer exists but I did love the architecture.

Noticed this McD's once existed too!

Stores like Meijer and Walmart having a McD's in them while a standalone McD's is outside is pretty common in my area. Often it's due to the notion some people may not want to go inside the main store if they're getting it to go. Sometimes these standalone units were built long before the larger stores were. I knew a shopping mall that had a McD's in its food court while a standalone restaurant was outside as well.

I was stuck waiting for a bus so I ate at my nearest McD's today, had a quarter pounder with cheese. It was fine.

Some people just love being assholes to get a point across.

As shit as McDonalds can be, I have a soft spot for the Sausage McMuffin with Egg and the Spicy McChicken. They remind me of a simpler time before I knew how utterly fucked the world was.
Most of the breakfast menu does that for me.

I suppose some of us have built up immunity towards this food that we can take it easier.

I'm a career alcoholic. 100% functioning and only just getting to the point where I acknowledge that downing a 6 pack of 8% ABV beer every night maybe just might be the reason why I feel like shit the next day until I have a beer after work.

2 god damn sausage biscuits with cheese and a milk have been my morning remedy countless times.

I hate myself.
