McDonalds - I'm Lovin' It

I haven't been to a McDonalds in years so can any Kiwi confirm or deny if the food has become bad
I still have it from time to time (mostly delivery because Gen Alpha has ruined the experience of eating inside of a McDonalds, and the employees arent allowed to kick out unaccompied children sadly) I would say the food tastes good, its still goyslop but the Double Cheeseburger is definitely enjoyable, theres better options like Wendys or Five Guys but McDonalds can still do burgers well
My dad said the early 90's McPizza tasted like Army mess hall (DFAC) pizza, and was "alright".

But my dad also likes Domino's thin crust pizza without extra cheese, so IDK if his pizza opinions should be trusted...
I heard about this obviously before my time but they discontinued it due to it not being able to be ready in a timely manner like Fast Food is and due to the drive-thru windows costing too much to expand to be able to fit pizza boxes out, apparently its still a thing at one mega location in Florida, im no where near that though so I havent been able to verify that

dominos is the closest thing you can get to Fast Food Pizza, thin crust sucks but just the normal cheese pizza is pretty good

The 90s McPizza version was personal pan pizza size. Like the size of the Pillsbury frozen grocey store pucks.

I don't think it was so much of an issue with drive-thru window logistics, but cooking times, drive-thru throughput and needing to install/use ovens that are off the main burger prep station assembly line.

Max Miller of Tasting History did an episode on Spam.

Apparently Spam was sent as a staple to Guam, the Phillippines, Okinawa, the USSR and Hawaii as humanitarian aid and military rations during WW2 to feed GIs and stave off starvation in the indigenous population.

IIRC, he made a claim that the Guam McD's features Spam on their menu.

It's garbage but it's solid for when you want to eat garbage. Tastes good. Pretty good coffee, especially now that they added the espresso shot option back to DoorDash.

So this thread got the best of me, & last week I gave in to my nephew's backseat request for Mcdonalds (which I haven't had in quite some time).

I actually tried to order coffee (it's my favorite thing on their menu!), but they told me it'd take awhile 'cause it was the afternoon & they needed to brew it (???), so I skipped the coffee & just got a Big Mac + soda. The Big Mac was 2 small pucks covered in sauce that dripped everywhere. The Big Mac must have not been fully cooked, 'cause I ended up getting violently sick later that evening 🤢

My nephew didn't finish his nuggets, but he also didn't complain, so I rank the overall experience 2/10 solely 'cause he seemed to like the little Happy Meal toy he got.

I noticed the $5 meral deal with the McDouble jumped up price compared to the Spicy McChicken.

I know the Hawaii ones did at one time. One of the stores as of 2018 still had stuff like a real menu, that orange juice graphic, and fried apple pies.

Tried their snack wraps about a week ago. Terrible and not at all like I remember them being on their initial run. Why is it so fucking hard to find a halfway decent wrap at a fast food joint? It’s not that complicated an item to make

While I wouldn't say they were terrible, I was shocked how underwhelming both the regular and spicy ones were. Nothing like the originals when I was a teenager. Have our tastes evolved or is McD's just more crappy now? I know it's the latter unfortunately.

For McDonald's there's stuff that needs to fit into their fast-prep system, and I recall reading the wraps were somewhat complicated with the way the tortillas had to be warmed properly in a particular shape before serving. (The Snack Wraps came about in a time where they had the premium hamburgers and stuff like the chocolate-dipped cone).

Reminds me of the Chicken Little from KFC. Just a tiny chicken patty on a tiny bun with a dab of mayo-like sauce. And it was $0.39. It was the ultimate stoner snack because you could just drive up in your car full of retards and buy 20 of them or whatever and they were delicious.

Then they got rid of them for no reason, and when they brought them back, they were total shit, and overpriced on top of that, when the whole draw of the item is "I wanna eat 10 of something for cheap."

That was the snack wrap. It's like there's nothing so simple they can't fuck it up. No wonder reviewbrah is such a blackpilled little dude.

Whenever I've had the chicken nuggets in the past couple years, which to be fair isn't that often, they have tasted fishy. Utterly disgusting.
I'd honestly never go if it weren't for the fries. Wendy's is so much better for everything else except their fries suck.

So I have come across several YT videos discussing McDonalds slow (or fast) decline in terms of unsatisfied customers because the food has become sloppy and customer service is becoming really bad. I haven't been to a McDonalds in years so can any Kiwi confirm or deny if the food has become bad (bad in relative terms, fast food is fast food after all)
Same as ever for the stuff I order. I mostly stick with McChickens. If I'm feeling brave I'll do a double quarter-pounder, but I'm picky with the customization on those (no cheese or ketchup or sauce, disgosteng) and they fuck it up probably half the time and I have to make them re-do it which takes forever.

Regarding slow/fast service, it seems lately that they heavily favor their staffing and prep for the expected rush hours, and outlier hours are just kind of left to rot. Late at night it takes me ages to get my slop, and often times the manager has to open the window and have me remind them what I even ordered. But they often give me extra food for being chill about it so it's fine.

On the other hand I stopped by during normalfaggot hours a couple of times in the last month, expecting disaster since now it's a drive-thru and dining room full of people instead of just me, but to my surprise my order was instant and on point. I suppose the retards and pity hires get staffed late since the niggers and drunks coming through at that hour probably won't even remember the shitty service long enough to leave a bad review or get the location in trouble with corporate, and a wandering midnight sperg like me can be bribed with apple pies or extra bacon.

BITD, they did use the same oil to cook the nuggies as the Filet-o-fish.
That's disgusting. While I reuse oil a lot, I only fry fish in it the very last time I use it because it's completely ruined after even one batch of fish, except possibly for more fish.

I heard in australia that they have some "smart meal" or something where for like 7 australian pesos you get a cheesburger, small fries, small drink and a choice between a chicken and cheese, 3 nuggets, sundae or another cheeseburger? Why cant they do that anywhere else?
