Media You've Saved Locally Before It's Gone Forever - Once It's Gone It May Never Come Back

I've been on a quest to hunt down original broadcasts of Unsolved Mysteries.

The episodes that were uploaded to Amazon Prime, Youtube, and Pluto have been edited. Some cases were removed for various reasons (family request, statute of limitations expired, proven to be a hoax, etc.).

There are also the original UM specials that aired before it became a series and had Raymond Burr and Karl Malden as hosts prior to Robert Stack coming on board. As far as I know, these were never released.

I'm a Plex user, so lately I've been torrenting media that's been targeted for wrongthink and also more obscure stuff such as concert videos.

I don't know what compelled me to make a rip of Robot in the Family though.

I have them lmao. I'm a die hard fanatic.

Unfortunately many cases have not reaired since the original airing. There are quite a few that can't ever be shown again because the family complained.

Cool! Care to help me out and point me in the right direction because there are some I am struggling to find.

Only things I've saved are super obscure but still findable I think:
Cheap Seats, an ESPN Mst3k knockoff making fun of weird old sports videos.
The Fall: Last Days of Gaia, a old early oughts game that was kinda like if Fallout and Jagged Alliance had a janky, poorly translated baby.

I mostly have stuff like visual novels and manga scanlations saved, but this thread reminded me I should be archiving my favourite japanese fanart more. Judging from the state of my pixiv faves, japanese artists will sometimes just delete their shit without warning and now that a lot of them abandoned pixiv in favour of twitter it's also harder to find on top of that. I'm just usually too lazy to go beyond hitting the like button.

Thanks! I'd kind of like to see it again, but probably not that much.
Back on Blip, every time I'd finish an RLM video, Care Boars would auto-play. I kind of had a love-hate relationship with it because of that.
The one thing about Mike is he seems to be an archiver himself, so unless file corruptions, I think has stored everything he's ever done. Sometimes he shows that in some RLM modern vids like: the Sergio animation, the highschool vid with Rich attacking his doll, and he said he even saved all of Rich's childhood family photos when he tried to throw them out--it's how Dick the birthday boy came about.

I've got a season of Daria with the licensed music intact before they swapped it out for the generic tracks for DVD release. A familiar riff between scenes makes a big difference.

There was a group that tried to splice the original music back in but it came out pretty poorly. Makes me wish I taped more of them when they were airing.

I saved most of Jim's content before he yeeted his account. Though there's plenty of backups online.

I mostly archive Joel Vargskelethor's streams. Most of the stuff I archive is to watch offline. I did notice one of the mini cuts episodes for Oblivion has music muted now than it was when I archived it. I'm still missing that Super Mario Bros 3 nazi hack that got taken off a long time ago. No one seemed to archive that. :(

There was this amazing YTP of the spongebob episode "Band Geeks" that I thought was lost to time. Found it in my archive a while ago. That was a good day.

I do collect off air VHS recordings. There's a tracker that has a ton of that content (PM me for the details). A few people were uploading their own stuff to Archive.org but it got yeeted because copyright is a fucking joke. I still have VHS I've boughten off ebay that I haven't ripped.

Somehow Brad Jones got his original channel back a long while ago and I archived those videos months ago. I though they were re-uploads, but old archives of Brad's channels have the original links to his videos and they all connect to that channel. Brad's reuploads to blip were shit since his workflow was "youtube download > DVD > DVD-Rip > Blip". The "Don't Go Near the Park" episode is gone gone. I had to download it from some fan who reuploaded it and its probably Brad's shitty copy.

I've got, among other things, a VHS rip of Star Wars from before it was A New Hope.
I'm not even much of a fan of it but it's something that's never coming back, not legally anyway.

Someone on /co/ re-upped DVD quality Mission Hill with the original soundtrack added the other day. It fucking rules.

Laserdisc might be the best quality you'll get the OG trilogy on. There are fan done film transfers that are fantastic. A few people even put together a copy of the original cut using film transfers and the copies put on D+.

I've been archiving OneyPlays episodes for a while now, just in case Chris gets baleeted for wrongthink. I already managed to save an intro clip that got edited out of an episode, so that's pretty neat.

Someone made a vine that was the Kirby theme but with porn stars screaming that I saw on Youtube. It was taken down the next day and I somehow came across it 3 years later and made sure to save that shit.

iirc there's copies up through 4k of the original versions these days made by fans
I mentioned those in the second half of my post dude. Yeah, they're fantastic and some are even HDR compliant. Crazy.
