Most of my shots were far down & to the left.
If you're right handed, left and down is usually a grip issue. If its FAR down then you're also anticipating recoil.

It could also be a sighting issue if you aren't super familiar with what your sight picture should look like - I have heard that's one of the main gripes people have with Glocks but I have no personal experience with it.

If you haven't developed a feel for what your last shot feels like, pay close attention to what happens to your muzzle when you press the trigger expecting a shot and then nothing happens. It probably dips down. Don't do that (easier said than done). @Pretend To Imagine has good advice - trigger hand should be fairly relaxed, support hand should be strong. Trigger arm should be pushing forward, support arm should be pulling back.

You can have a friend load random amounts of ammo in your magazines to trick you as well. Revolvers are really good for this since you can do a Russian roulette thing by partially loading and giving it a good spin.

I also find that when I am anticipating recoil, shooting double action very slowly really helps reign in that bad habit. Not everyone has DA/SA guns but if you do, give it a try.

Dry firing is your friend. Do it a lot. Its free and it works.

I'll add that snap caps are a thing he should consider too. They're basically dummy rounds that mimic duds so you can use them to train for failures or dryfiring if dropping the hammer/striker is unsafe to do so on an empty chamber (some older firearms will break firing pins or gouge chamber faces if you dry fire them)

I recently got my first gun, a Glock 43x. I love it, & I finally got the chance to take it to the range. There's just one problem, my aim is complete & utter shit.
I spent 100 rounds. At most 10 of them were near target, & about 40 of them were complete misses. Most of my shots were far down & to the left.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Did you grow up with BB guns etc?
I tend to find most new shooters biggest issue is not knowing how iron sights work. You want to align the tops of the sights. You want an even gap on each side of the front sight. The smallest misalignment with any of these leads to big changes down range.

Glocks tend to want the bullseye right at the top of the front sight. The middle image.

As for down and to the left. It's often a sign of inconsistent and jerky trigger pulling as others have suggested.
Dry firing while focusing on a target. Learn how each "stage" of your trigger pull feels and memorize where it breaks. If you want to go fancy, the Mantis lasers and their phone apps can be really helpful.

Using a target like this helped me a lot:

New Nambu prototype, designed to replace the 1911 then used by the JSDF, developed in 1957:

These targets need to be debunked every single time they are posted with vigor. They were made back when teacup grips on the gun were popular, and not even that good back then. They were developed very specific niche for shooting even at the time of their design. Please, for the love of God, do not rely on these for feedback reading your groups. You can find my guide for reading groups in the training and firearms thread. It isn't perfect and has some typos, but infinitely better then that.

What is even the point of this?
Ostensibly shooting animals and people with very heavy subsonic bullets
More realistically, money
Tertiarily, making an American Equivalent to 12.7x55mm.

This is assuming that it's even real

This is a still taken from a video of Russian SF engaging in their favorite past time of magdumping hohols in soft skinned vehicles, very curiously the rifle doesn't look to be AK patterned. Could at least one RU SSO officer be taking an AR patterned rifle on cross border raid missions? The rifle isn't from as far as I can tell a Trinity Arms, STM-545 or CGNL NL545 so that either leaves another more obscure Russian AR or a captured western example

Issue #10 of the GunCAD Digest

Finally got back home and realized I have a rodent issue (most likely a skunk) who has fucked around and dug under my shed. Going to celebrate getting home by taking my NVGs, supressed SP5, and attempting to Bravo 6 that asshole tonight.

If you don't get him like that my dad always said to leave out a bowl of antifreeze.

Yeah just keep in mind if you or your neighbor have pets because they will drink it and kill themselves
I'm out in the country. Have a fenced in portion of backyard that the shed is outside of for the dog and my cat has zero desire to set foot outside. My nearest neighbor is a good distance down the road, but I'll keep that in mind since they usually bring their dog whenever they come over. I appreciate it.

Yeah the last thing I want is someone's pets blood on my hands
I mean I'm not the ATF

With the government shutdown going the ATF announce that NFA approvals will be curtailed due to staffing issues but normal nics checks will be fine.

Thank fuck, I spaced my CCP renewal so now I have to go through the whole song and dance again. Which is going to be a riot being in a county with a sheriff that is known for denying them for anything even knowing a judge will slap him when challenged.

No idea about turk 1911s, Philippines made ones seem good. Have a Metro arms corp American classic II that has been indestructible through thousands of rounds and a house fire, only loss there was the little detent spring and pin for the slide stop that melted out of it. grip safety broke as well but still fires just fine.
Really I just want a cheap 1911 that works "well enough". Phillipines or Turkish, as long as it shoots at a low price, I'm happy.

The Tisas (Turkish) pistols are forged steel while the RIA (Filipino) pistols are cast IIRC. The Tisas are generally regarded as having a better fit & finish but both seem to be acceptable options barring the occasional QC issue.

The Russian domestic AR-15 market has grown a bit in recent years so its not out of the question. There's also tons of Ukrainian FORT produced AR's and commercial sporter donations floating around. For example, The US budget Diamondback brand was a popular civilian rifle before the war so there's quite a few of them in service currently.
