Hello Everyone, this isn't going to be a typical AGPinochet post because this one is special.

A few weeks ago I came across a Soldier Systems article that I don't think I even read. Said Soldier Systems article was commented upon by the firearm community 's favorite Taiwanese softcore porn enthusiast, Roy of Weapon Outfitters. The Soldier Systems article was about the dangers and effects of Blast Over pressure on the human brain. Roy's commentary included a link to some research Radical Defense had done regarding Blast Overpressure fairly recently

RD Study

For those who don't want to wade through dozens of pages of pages of boring (yet important) nerd shit the TLDR is as follows: Too many gunshots especially in confined spaces makes you retarded.

Now you're probably thinking well that's all very informative AGPinochet but what's the point of this post that you've alluded to?

Today an article was published in the New York Times. The article studies the blast overpressure effects that firearms have when fired at indoor gun ranges. While they admit the science isn't exactly settled regarding just what levels of overpressure is bad for you one of the things they recommend in order to mitigate potential brain damage is to shoot firearms equipped with suppresors.

This is the reason why I am writing this post. The partial extinction of Tax Stamps, E-forms, the work of the ASA, FPC and others AND this emerging awareness of the threats of blast over pressure represents a really good opportunity to get suppressors either entirely deregulated or at least transferred on a 4473. Even the NYT is singing their praises. More SBR's as a result of $0 tax stamps means more theoretical brain damage. $0 Tax Stamps means higher suppressor sales which means more common ownership which fosters A culture around them which means lobbying to remove restrictions. 2A groups already cast suppressors as safety equipment but for the ears, now they can argue they prevent brain damage.

Really interesting stuff, I will be sharing this with my other gun friends.

One weird thing, in their measured overpressure table - why is the AR-15 like 50% higher overpressure than the bullpup? Youd think the bullpup would have higher PSI since the muzzle is closer (assuming barrel length and muzzle devices are the same). I mean its not like this is a super scientific study but still its weird.

I imagine its based on barrel length.
20 in vs 16 is actually less loud, so if the bullpup had a 20" barrel while the AR had a 16, that could be it.

My 10.5 is noticeably more loud than my 16" carbine, lmao.

My assumption is that they're comparing A full size AUG to a carbine/mid length gas AR with a 16" (or 14.5 with a P&W). meaning that while the barrel is closer to you the actual blast pressure is drastically reduced at the muzzle.

Yeah, the only thing I could think of is that the barrel lengths or muzzle devices were different hence my comment about it being unscientific lol.

I am also annoyed they listed it as BULLPUP and posted a picture of an AUG and yet I wouldn't be surprised at all if they used something totally different.

If I could only shoot at indoor ranges that would be very sad.

As it is now, I refuse to shoot indoors, and luckily have access to many outdoor facilities.

Eta: I don’t know why it replied to Polock, when I clicked reply to AGPinochet

Gave in and admitted my elderly eyes do better with a red dot (even with my bullshit astigmatism). Getting the little sisters of this one done by Nameless Armament. Will let you all know how that goes.

M81 Woodland was peak American camouflage aesthetics, and having separate temperate patterns was the right play all along with its equally chad cousins 6 and 3 color Desert.

The biggest sin of Multicam is that it is as fugly as it is functional. If we're going back to one service uniform for all, may as well bring back solid OD, as that really does tend to work for everything,

MARPAT was the way to go. Shame the Corps had to tard out and copyright it.

No shame in that. My already declining eyesight has been fucked on more by chemo meds and I realized last range trip that the BUIS on my rifle are unusable to me now, even at 25m targets. Took them off and gave them to my brother to use on his rifle. I have a Holosun SCS on my G45 and I don't get the bloom from my astigmatism that I normally get from other handgun red dots. I have a G33 magnifier behind the T-2 on my MK18 and a Vudu on my 14.5 Geissele frankenrifle, neither setup gives me issues.

CETME C building
Have you built (not AR-15 style assembled) a gun before? Or have you wielded and tacked metal before? Otherwise it's a bit of a learning curve and you can fuck it up and not be able to shoot straight. The C requires proper gunsmithing as in you need to be able to hand finish some of the parts in order for it to function precisely and accurately.

CETME L... However, unless you can make your own L receiver marcolmar are faggots and demand you send in your full auto FCG to get one.
NOTE: WE WILL SHIP YOUR KIT ONCE WE RECEIVE YOUR ORIGINAL UNMODIFIED SELECTOR AT OUR SHOP. OUR SEMI AUTO DESIGN REQUIRES A MODIFIED SELECTOR TO ELIMINATE FULL AUTO CAPABILITY.
Could just like... Sell a modified (stock non-auto) selector bruh, it's not like 922r compliance isn't a thing.

All this NATO standardization makes me somewhat sad. I get the AR is like the best thing ever and all that but at this rate everyone is just going to look like American soldiers.
Modern weapons development is also quite expensive without much payoff.

Poland developed it’s rifle from scratch and it took 15 years and resulted with an AR-18 with the killer feature of being convertible to a bullpup for tankers and helicopter pilots. When all is said and done the it would’ve probably been more cost effective to just adopt the AR-15 and a Tavor or something similar.

Is that an Apex trigger? Been thinking of getting one for my 509 but holy shit those things are a bitch to disassemble.

Yes, it's an Apex trigger. I'm a huge fan of those for M&Ps. I recommend their installation if your factory trigger pull is spongy or longer/heavier than you want.

Nothing close to what you'll get from a race gun trigger but it functions as a superb service weapon trigger.

Califags get your Black Friday/Cyber Monday lists in order, you may be turbo-fucked come Jan 1st. (Ca AB1263)
Would like to give a bulletpoint list of how many "firearm accessories" are about to be basically DOA for online sales in Cali, but a bit busy at work at the moment. Interested to see @Club Sandwich's take.
