Mega Rad Gun Thread

OK, I haven't been following this thread properly. Have people realized what the actual point of Glock doing the Gen 6 anti-Glock switch mods was yet? Nothing to do with litigation, they just wanted to kill police trade-ins from competing with new guns by adding an excuse to pressure police chiefs into scrapping old Glocks instead of letting them go to decent citizens.
That plus more sales (new hotness and all that) plus slightly harder for YNs to install switches.

Remember, Glock actually changed a fair amount of internal components in the Gen 6 (get fucked aftermarket says Glock)

Concept for a DIAS made out of a commercial autosear,
Wow I haven't seen the DIAS acronym in a while. Speaking of, what's the difference between a DIAS and one of the new-fangled super-safeties? Don't they both just prevent the trigger from fully resetting?

I hope they sell enough of these things before they drop the hammer on them (pun intended) so maybe we can use the "common use" defense like braces.

DIAS is a machinegun, unless you're an SOT new production machineguns are illegal. Super Safeties are one of the two main branches of Forced Reset Triggers. Forced Reset Triggers are legal in a majority of states. DIAS releases the hammer once the bolt carrier moves forward. FRT/SS causes the trigger to reset while you apply constant pressure to it and thus not a machinegun.

Do I cut it down or hold out?
Eh, to be honest if you just sit and watch gunbroker you should find a 20" barrel eventually. I've seen them come up.

If you have to cut it, I'd at least buy a second barrel to do it with so you can keep the serials matching your gun original.

Frankly, if you want to build a trench gun, I'd forego the route you're taking and buy a parts gun/parts kit to build off of. SARCO has original US ordinance marked 1897 receivers to build off of, which would get you the proper markings to go with it.

look at the load out this old cop is rocking at the LAPD.

FN has discontinued the SCAR line, so prices are being jacked up since there won't be any more available.
I’ve different so many prices for the 17S
They have already reintroduced a new version.
I assume for LE and military only? How long till the cops trade in the scars like they do with other guns and rifles?

fired about 100 rounds of +P .45 through my Blackhawk and Anaconda, though mostly in the Anaconda. Stout recoil. terrific report. It echoed around the mountain which was nice to hear. Lots on concussion on this load. It actually would kick up dead leafs a few feet in front of me and it absolutely hammered my steel plates. The hammer spur on the Blackhawk came down once and bit into the meat of my hand between my index finger and thumb. it drew blood and is now mighty sore and swelled.

Update on the OTTO noizebarriers. They work splendidly. audio quality is the equal if not greater than my Howard Leight impact sport ear phones. I highly recommend them if you can afford them. On high mode I could hear deer walking some 150 yards away but gunfire is reduced to safe levels. Perfect for hunting and outdoor shooting. indoors you should double up, but that's true for any earpro IMO.

Zoomers meme on 1911's and they're far from ideal for LEO. But if you meet a cop still rocking one I guarantee you he's a bad mother fucker who can out shoot you.
I thought it was a shop or AI at first but then I checked some of their other posts/videos, there's a non-zero chance it's a doublestack since a ton of cops are switching to 2011s when able.

I personally wouldn't pick this feed system for my rotary machinegun but whatever.

Experimental Russian SPU belt feed conversion device for RPK-74 and derivatives. I would be very interested in seeing Popneker or better yet Ian take a look at one of these If he can ever go to Russia again and the museum people will speak with him

I rank this style of feed system #2 on my methods to be able to have a belt fed without a top cover or exposing the ammunition to the outside elements list, firmly behind the URZ/OTs-1XX series style. But I can't fault the designers too much, They evidently had to make it backwards compatible with existing guns. I would be interested in seeing something like this made for a BCA or other right side charging AR upper. The economic feasibility of the project would depend entirely if you could make it work with M27 links.
