SHOT doesn't start until the 17th but SHOT is a relic of olde that only really serves for small companies to get a spotlight shown on them, to allow boomer FFL holders to see new products and for Media personalities and Influencers to get fucking trashed at the end of day parties.
Would you mind elaborating? I've only seen Vortex come out with a new magnifier and new super duper long range 3-36x.

I just want Aimpoint to release an optic without the ridiculous submersion ratings they all have to drive the price down (It is safe to assume that manufacturing a product water tight to 120 feet is much more expensive than one water tight at 10 feet) because 99.9999999999999999999999999% of people are never going to have their red dot on or in a body of water.
All of their products are aimed at MIL, LE, or Hunting demographics, all of which benefit from some kind of waterproof rating. I would say if you want something cheap and not purpose made, you have Burris, Vortex, Holosun, and a bunch of other mfgs to fill that market demographic.
Non Trijicon/Eotech/Aimpoint optics have gotten very good especially these last few years but a comparible option from those companies would be a game changer and essentially eliminate the competition/cause them to further cut prices. Imagine a $400 new production T2 whose only downside is that it's only water proof to 10 feet.
You're going to have to accept the realities of DoD/LE procurement here. These companies don't have to slash their prices because there is always going to be a guaranteed government or LE agency contract out there for them. Even Eotech, who basically defrauded the DoD out of millions, is still getting defense contracts. They don't have to cater to Joe Sixpack who just wants a tube with Aimpoint laser etched on the side but none of the features of an Aimpoint besides a red dot.
I understand it and I don't like it. I just dream of of non-obscenely expensive because of needless overbuilding (for civillian purposes) optics made by white people in Sweden and Michigan.
Aimpoint H-1 can be had for $600 on sale, and used usually hovers around $500. it's 15ft submersible and isn't quite as robust as the H-2, but you would have to be looking for something specific for the T-1 or T-2 to make a difference for the shooter.
Friend of a friend knows someone at Vortex and we were discussing how much it would cost or save them to move production entirely to the US since they have the capability. Sure, their prices would go up but I'd also imagine they wouldn't need that famous warranty of theirs either anymore so that'd have to be some cost savings right there.

No argument from me on SHOT, all trade shows and events like this are pretty pointless thanks to the internet.
