one day I want to get a china red star 20 round mag but everyone wants so damn much and I'm a cheap fuck...at weird times
Powerleveling here, but I own a SKS star mag. They can’t be dumped like a traditional 10-rounder since the larger mag body prevents it from swinging out all the way. I don’t trust it to cycle 20 rounds reliably either. At the prices they go for now I would spend that on ammo and git gud with stripper clips (there is a technique to charging the mag quickly).

Thanks for sharing I really never read anything about them, but also they make the SKS uglier, somehow and for that alone I must own one.

I'm surprised to see people here talking down on the Chinese SKS, I love mine. Picked it up during peak panic buying early last year for $500, and seeing the prices that even the bubba'd ones are going for now, I have zero regrets.

Not trying to shit on you, but SKSes going for $500 physically hurts my heart.

Feels AF.

While mines a rare girl I paid 229 (I have autism and save my paper work) and I'd pay next to anything because she's my boog bae. To be honest unless your a marksmen geek or SKS fanboy, now with prices an AK is cheaper and a better weapon in 95% situations.

After adding up all the costs to rebuild this rifle I took another look at things. The clearance issue with the gas block was so minor I wondered if I couldn't gain a little clearance a bit.

So I did the needful and very carefully and firmly grabbed the barrel and handguard and pulled firmly in opposing directions. This is probably super mega dumb and now I have a 10 MOA rifle, but it actually worked. and I have about 4mm of clearance between the gas block and handguard. My thinking is that I probably did more to bend the handguard than the barrel, and even if I warped the barrel a touch it's likely to be a fixed amount that I can accommodate with my zero once break-in is complete. Time will tell. I'm a gambling man so I went for it. With the necessary clearance achieved and a little work with the grinder I can get the bipod on up front straddling the gas block with good clearance on both sides.

Perfect. Even loading the bipod the gas block clearance is maintained.

A worthwhile gamble if it has a chance to save me $400 in parts and tools.

I paid $175. Going rate at the time was $250 and MINE was a pile of shit. They were great rifles for the price. Not so much anymore. I'll pay an extra few hundred and get something more modern with detachable mags.

I'm not sure that this was the proper way to do it, but likely the barrel is not deformed at all. If you could have gotten at the area with a file, you should have removed the handguard and filed it rather than bending it. Or better yet, took a mill to it.

finally got around to shooting the lynx after setting up the automatic gas plug. had a couple stovepipes at first but after doing a little adjusting everything was good. as far as cheapo turkish slugs go, sterling tornados are kinda shit and after going through the boxes i had left i'm not getting any more. they're flimsy and some get warped while trying to chamber them to the point i'd have to pop the magazine out and fire them individually. i'm also gonna have to file down a little more on the back of the steel mag since it's a little tricky to load at the moment.

double posting but fuck it this malarky made me laugh big time when i saw it monday. as a bonus, mostly out of frame at the bottom right is the CZ parrot, affectionately known as "The Autism Rating"
The grip looks slick, but what is the purpose of this? What's the huge thing under the barrel? Why do you need side rails on a revolver? Is all of the red anodized aluminum?

if anything it's for boujie fellas that really prefer shadow over sonic. i'm guessing there are weights in the bottom there tag teaming it with that built in brake to reduce muzzle flip to nothing, but great googly moogly is it ostentatious! it's anodized aluminum for sure, and i suppose if you really wanted to you'd throw on a cornea melting light meant for something like an AR on the side.

it's an NXA Rosso Sportico ULX bullseye competition revolver (made by Korth imported by Nighthawk). the rails are for sights or sectional weights to alter the revolvers balance if you prefer it a specific way due to your wrist's natural angle. the front of the weight is ported to provided some minimal compensation (although with puff loaded target rounds, that's not doing much functionally). yes it's anodized aluminum alloy, the "sleeve" over the barrel reduces mirage if firing a rapid course.

i use an NXA for bullseye and steel challenge (sometimes), they are very nicely made revolvers although they are semi-custom rather than fully custom and the flashy looks are more of a 3-gun thing...

I was unaware of revolver competitions being a thing.

Damn, gamer guns look ridiculous. If I'm spending extra on the finish for a gun, it's going to be something custom, not just "make it red". What really sets it off is that revolvers are supposed to have a traditional look about them to me. Like if you're going to use old tech, it should look the part.
I'm stuck imagining offset sights on a revolver though. That would be something.

In the 3D printed gun sphere
Navigoboom, one of the 3D printed gun guys on Twitter is posting photos showing how to make *ahem* coat hangers out of.... well... wire coat hangers in response to the Supreme Court decision leak. If's pretty funny, but I'm not subjecting Null to having those images linked or posted.
