LRN, I usually carry it for varmints or carnivores skulking the property. Could've walked up to get my rifle, but he would've been lying there a while. Shot him right above the shoulder, right into the lungs. Died in a few seconds. Didn't want him to suffer, and with his leg broken on the fence, was able to get close enough to him to guarantee it was a fairly quick lights out.

Fellas, semi-wadcutters will fuck people up. I've seen 2 men shot with them since I began in the OR a few years ago. I figured hollowpoints were used given how fucked one of their pulmonary systems was. When the bullets were turned over to the police the detective corrected me. If you run a revolver they are a viable alternative to HP ammo, especially in magnum calibers.

After your recommendation, I decided to order a carry handle that was advertised as a GWOT military surplus.

Also what does 3/6 mean and is it possible to get a 50/200 zero off it?

Of course. I grew up in a pop 600 counting the cows kind of town. Hunting is very serious there. You either get the kind of dude who is more solemn with it than the most prideful of tribal chiefs, or the kind of people who use bullfrogs as baseballs. Have gotten in many a fistfight regarding the latter. I was lucky to have most of my experiences hunting with the kinds of people who pray over a kill they make. Squirrel or deer.
Fiance was able to make some clean, clean cuts on his pelt. Froze the head so we can use the brains to tan it. Kept the bones to make stock and give em to the dogs after.

Docawe answered spot on but nice, I always thought the Vietnam era m16a1 carrying handles were actually pretty cool looking in a retro futuristic sort of way. Those meltdowns are badass and that Gissele is such a beast. Im surprised the cold forged DD barrel didn't last longer tho

Have you run one of their Mk2 uppers? If not, I think you'll appreciate the subtle changes made. Arguably it's "better" than their standard uppers but I can't imagine either not working well.

This is my first foray into anything better than stuffing a BCM guts into a PSA lower and upper, was thinking of going DD but as far as I've read BCM and DD seem to be pretty comparable and BCM aren't fags saying the ATF shouldnt be abolished. Larry Vickers did a vid on the mk2 and went over it with the BCM guy and it just seems like they improved it while taking nothing away.

Now that most of my budget has been eaten by the upper, I'm hopin for some decent deals on PA prisms or somethin
 
I spent about 2 weeks fucking around in my spare time welding/drilling/tapping/lathing/milling/filing/fitting this thing but, I built 2 receivers one with a target 8" bull barrel that got the premo Holosun COMP series $350 sight and another one with a 3" "host" barrel that got the budget $120 Cyelee RMR and budget light/laser combo. Both are form 1 ready.

Yeah, the VF target frame was expensive, especially compared to a used Mark1 frame I could have sourced, but NOBODY and I mean NOBODY had a 22/55 frame I waned for sale. Ruger USA retail sales are really missing out refusing to sell a 22/45 frame, even stripped. There were a few sources to build a 22/45 frame but, I do not have a 3D printer, I do not have a CNC. I could have reached out to contacts I have in the rapid-prototyping field I have from years ago OR I could have purchased a used overpriced 22/45 frame but, for $75 more Valquartsen had the frame with all the premo FCG parts installed. A lot of money for 2 pieces of aluminum with no serial numbers


Not to mention, you saw the 2011 Strayer Voight clone I built, I could have put in the order $5,000+ and waited the 24 months and had something clean and pristine right out of the box but, I started with a piece of 1018 mild steel and crafted it into my .40/10mm doublestack. Total parts cost were around $1100-$1200. These days it's milled for a Holosun 507 and the .40 barrel pretty much lives in the frame, I take out the 10mm for fun rarely. Installing the 10mm spring in a 6" barrel 2011 takes about 3 hands. When I find some free time I have a couple more projects on the horizon, bringing a S&W revolver back from the dead and building 2011 9mm race gun.
