I grew up in an LEO family and grew up knowing cops. Most of them were good people and went into the law enforcement field for the right reasons. Almost all of them were 2A guys as well. But there were a few that my dad worked with who were definitely bad cops, including one guy who had chronic drug issues. My dad always kept his crooked coworkers at a distance and only associated with the good guys. One of them was basically stuck as a receptionist because he was such a fuck up and was only allowed to ever be armed when he was out in the field, which was never (on purpose).
The local transit company (busses, trains, etc.) has it's own dedicated police force. They are actual, fully accredited law enforcement and not rent-a-cops or anything. It was easier for them to have their own police for transit related issues than trying to coordinate with the local fuzz. Anyways, every now and again a group of open carry advocates will get on the trains or busses as kind of a demonstration of their rights carrying rifles slung on their backs, pistols in thigh holsters, stuff like that. I personally think open carry is kinda stupid because it takes away the advantage of surprise and advertises to everyone that you've got firearms, thus making you a target, but I support their right to do it. However, inevitably someone on the train or bus will get their panties in a twist about it and call the transit police about it. Often times the person taking the call will ask if the armed men are threatening anyone, acting aggressively, brandishing the weapons, or doing anything that could indicate they're about to do something dangerous. When the answer is inevitably "No. They just have guns." the dispatcher will usually tell the caller that the armed men aren't doing anything wrong under state or federal law and have a right to carry weapons with them, and for the caller to mind their own business. If the transit police do end up getting on the train or bus to check things out they always see the open carry guys being safe and respectful, and will often times start bullshitting with them about guns. I saw one woman on the train one time see the cops chatting with the open carry guys and shout "Well, aren't you going to arrest them?!" When the transit officer replied "Why would I? He's got the right to own AND carry his guns. Haven't you heard of the Second Amendment, lady? Besides, he's got a really cool rifle!" (I think it was a CZ BREN2) the lady looked like he had slapped her right in the face. She made kind of a gasp/squalk sound, went to the back of the car, and got of at the next platform. But it kind of goes with that 4chan post or whatever up-thread about cops in states that respect the Second Amendment going through training about respecting a citizen's 2A rights, and cops in Pinko shitholes like California and New York not being trained to respect Constitutionally protected rights or how to properly deal with citizens exercising those rights. And I live in arguably one of the most 2A friendly states in the nation where a LOT of our paw enforcement are gun guys themselves.
Edit: saw that about the Halo shotgun. It's just a one-off made by one guy, built on a left-handed Remington 870, but it's pretty cool. The guy who designed and built it says he's planning on making an all-new weapon that will be his own design eventually. Something he hopes will be fairly revolutionary and hasn't been done before.
