I'm pretty shocked that something like this hasn't really been done before. His looks a lot better fabricated but even rudimentary RCWS haven't really been seen in warfare outside of the one example I can think of in Syria where they were using it on a shit metal APC or whatever and controlled it with a gaming controller and TV. I'd think a remote weapon or even fully AI controlled turret would be brewed up somewhere, especially with all the drone shit on display.
You reminded me of this example. Its from 2013 in Syria. The other example that comes to mind is Israel. They have remote observation stations with RCWS. These are found around "buffer zones" exactly where you'd think they'd be.

P320s can be permanently damaged with magazine over insertion View attachment 6851312
While not unique(happens with the Beretta 92 and 1911 for example) it's still not a great look for a newer pistol to not account for that on a serialized part. Apparently they'll only repair it(bend it back into place) one time.
Before anyone says "Don't ram the magazine in" it used to be taught that you slam it in as recent as ~25 years ago. Half of it was because Glocks don't have this problem and the other half is because people were not assertive enough with their equipment.

Under stress it can be difficult to manage how hard you slam it in there. It's funny Sig wants this to be the ultimate platform for any need and then doesn't design it to have a over insertion stop.

On a closed slide it's got resistance, but transfer the technique to a slide that's locked back and you can fuck your gun(unless it's a Glock).

I have sneaking suspicion that SIG is priming the 365 family to almost totally take over the 320 family and essentially had with the newest high capacity versions.

Also what ever happened to 6mm ARC and 6.5 PRC?
PRS faggots were the bane of 6 ARC for a bit there. Haven't fired it in a while so hard to say if ammo is still as scarce. Conceptually the idea of 6mm ARC or 6mm Max are interesting. I only have experience with the ARC round but of all the compromises either of the 6mm new AR-based cartridges make, the most damning is this: market establishment. It's damn hard to catch up to the 5.56 in that department. As I've said before, I had hoped 6 ARC would offer me an AR capable of 0-600m target engagement and still be reasonably capable of fighting in a cramped urban environment. It can definitely do the first one and even if it could do the second one, we all know for sure that 5.56 works well there, is easy as fuck to get hold of, and has a shit ton of market support.

6.5 PRC is definitely still around and I'd consider it 6.5 CM Magnum. It can run a slightly heavier bullet a bit faster, giving it a flatter trajectory out a bit farther than CM. If you're shooting at steel or paper even well into LR distances I don't see compelling reasons to go for the PRC over the CM. If you're interested in ballistic effects on live targets well out into LR distances, the PRC will offer you a heavier bullet with a better BC and a bit more velocity = fuck shit up better farther away. I like running mine suppressed as it's less disruptive to me and helps to tame the rather mild recoil.

Yeah I forgot that PRC = Magnum CM

That said I already have a nice Tikka .308.... So a 6.5 CM is just what I need 🤣

I've been itching for a short wheelgun for a while myself. I'm really liking the new Pythons with the 3" and 4" barrels. My old man carried a S&W 686 with a 4" barrel for INS for many years until they were replaced in the mid-to-late-90s by the Beretta Brigadier 96D, and I've always had a fondness for revolvers with that barrel length. They just look right.
3 inch is the best of both worlds

Thats what I assumed when they released the 365 Macro. If its true, I find it funny they're trying to replace the P320 trashfire with a gun that still had issues with striker drag.

Better striker drag that all of the 320's issues.

Even then I think only the first production batch of the 365 had it.

The real problem with Sig over-insertion is that it breaks the SERIALIZED part of the gun. Everyone who owns a different gun can just go on Brownells. Sig boiz need to send it in.
