I suggest you avoid polymer and just get surplus steel mags. Nothing with a BHO, those will break. No Croatian or Korean mags. Just plain surplus steel.

The wood that the ZPAPs come with is lightyears better than the cheap ass beechwood that CAI puts on their AKs.

As for muzzle brakes? People like the Manticore Nightbrake last I looked into it but I think the regular slant brake is fine. I've gone from tacticooling my AKs back round to just leaving them stock and I kind of prefer them plain now. I believe the ZPAP M70 rifle threads are regular 14x1 LH.

Steel mags are best for AKs I agree even if you don't do the mag slap style reload (it's useful if not flashy).

Steel mags are also easy to find and cheap. For a carbine/rifle length barrel I do agree slants are fine. I have not done a ton on AKs with brakes but if a not broke don't fix it and again slant brakes are cheap.

Even on my krinkov I use the "OEM" bell style but such a short barrel I do feel it helps.

I'm all about combloc steel milsurp for AK mags, but these Bulgarian poly mags with the steel lips and lugs are also great, and pretty inexpensive. They're a way better deal than the Gen 3 AK PMags.
 
I'll admit I'm biased against poly mags even though some are decent like the Circle 10s. I just prefer steel is all, I like the feel of them better I guess and they generally uphold a lot better.

Believe it or not, the people who import them get them in country at like $10 a pop. They're absolutely worthless overseas, hundreds of millions of bakelite magazines were made. However, a lot of the outlets that sell them have agreed to keep prices high because it's just pure profit on a magazine that there's practically endless supply of but hard for the average AK consumer to get by themselves.

60$ is cheap actually given retards pay Atlantic 120 for some.

Anyways I follow some pages that do 10 buy in and 9 spots tied to a lottery power ball. Right now given my win loss I'm at 35 per mag. Not cheap but not bad for how clean they look and more importantly how smooth they run in my aks.

Goddamn, I find myself a little bit jealous. My mag collection looks like that, but replace the bakes with slightly rusty/dinged up milsurps and triple the quantity with a dozen of the Bulgy poly mags stacked on top, heh.

Its not all IG flexing mags. I own a bunch of random shit to include KSI (which are fine in my experience but I won't argue if someone says they are all dogshit).

All good. I know that we all mostly just use random combloc crap and it works just great. v My experience with KCI stuff that it's good until it isn't and you get no warning - I can pay about the same for milsurp and it's just always good, though.

it's a modified Kimber kit, which is a modified Ciener conversion kit, which was based on the Colt Ace but simplified. i would expect it to be sensitive to bullet shape (preferring RN) and require a minimum of 36gr to cycle properly with typical loads due to the fixed feed ramp of the barrel, but otherwise be relatively reliable with quality ammunition, even at standard velocities, if kept minimally oiled and cleaned often.

i hope Browning is doing the warranty support for it (should you need it) because JAC has a certain reputation i'm not a fan of personally. i've found that the SIG/GSG M1911-22 are "okay" but usually not at the price asked. the older Walther/Colt A1's are excellent, and the original Colt Ace, being i guess the superior choice all around if you aren't target shooting and just plinking since it'll be very reliable... for 100 rounds until the floating chamber gets gunked up and require detail cleaning. there's a whole other can with Advantage Arms, Tactical Solutions, Marvel Precision, and so on.

i prefer the AA/Marvel kits as they generally require fitting for best use but are highly reliable and accurate once fitted and you stick with the recommended ammunition velocities and weights. this goes for rebrands too, but the rebrands are typically meant for a specific pistol that the rebrander is wanting the kit for. Wilson Combat rebrands the Marvel kit, but has some nice stainless steel components but crappy magazines, especially in the Commander length kit - you're better off with Ciener magazines then (or the Kimber branded ones).

Well I decided on what to keep my California featureless long term build as.

I replaced the ambi safety with a Colt single side safety, replaced the Strike Industries fin grip with their Megafin grip that has a thumb rest, replaced the Magpul MOE fixed stock with the Magpul MOE adjustable stock and fixed it with the Strike Industries stock stop. And decided to replace a hand stop I placed on it with an angled grip and attached those textured Magpul mlok rail covers. Also using a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Red Dot as well. I attached some Odin flashlight and sling swivel as well to my dominant side as well.

I guess it makes it easy to make fast changes once I get out of this shithole as all I need to do is remove the stock stop to make it adjustable again and replace the fin grip with a pistol grip.

I have to say this is like adult legos and no idea how much stuff I would aftermarket stuff I would buy along with maintenance tools like a torque wrench and a toolset and managing to figure out how to attach mlok attachments.

My rifle is a free floating handguard, I guess If the Smith and Wesson MP 15 Sport 2 was around at the time I was looking to buy, probably would not be caring much about rail attachments lol.
