I don't like the current standard GI aluminum cover. Feels weird to touch.why though
Why are you spending so much time touching it?I don't like the current standard GI aluminum cover. Feels weird to touch.
Well, I find that part rough to clean when I use the CLP cloths and then wiping it with silicone cloth. Why are you spending so much time touching it?
scrub with ScotchBrite/Brillo to knock off the roughness from phosphating (which is probably what you're feeling if it's rough to the touch). if that's not enough you can use brass wool and clean up afterwards with some solvent.rough to clean
Magic Eraser. Cut a small piece & glue it to a short dowel, for really stubborn carbon & lube deposits. It also cleans pipes!Well, I find that part rough to clean when I use the CLP cloths and then wiping it with silicone cloth.
i was talking about their older aluminum cover, but it appears to be discontinued in favor of the more expensive billet version, which is a shame, because $20 shipped for a plain dust cover was a good buy.I can say that the plastic SI dust covers are a waste of money. If you run your rifle hard and then close the dust cover, it fucking melts. Just stick with the aluminum one or maybe get some sort of meme-engraved one if you must change it.
Get one of the caliber indicators -- the wrong one. That way anybody stealing your gun is a problem that'll solve itself.Just don't get a dust cover that says "You're Fucked".
I'll believe "affordable" when I see itPSA is importing machinery and tooling to make Steel case ammo.
Oh god, PSA branded ammunition in PSA branded ak's. Just fucking give me a hand grenade with the pin pulled. That'll be safer for me because at least I'll know about when it'll explode.PSA is importing machinery and tooling to make Steel case ammo.
We jest but I hope not, for the sake of the AKs; there's some things a thumb can't fix.If the quality is anything like PSA's other offerings, I expect rifles to start exploding like IOs left and right.

Anecdotal, but I've heard of steel case failures as being more destructive, because the cases fail at a higher pressure, though I have no clue as to the accuracy of it. The failure pressures couldn't be that different between steel & brass, right?
I also question where PSA is gonna get the steel from. Shitty Chinee quality garbage, probably. We jest but I hope not, for the sake of the AKs; there's some things a thumb can't fix.

That's my biggest question about this.unless they plan to start importing the cases from the same places they're getting the tooling from and are basically going to just assemble it in the US basically.I also question where PSA is gonna get the steel from. Shitty Chinee quality garbage, probably.
