Not every bullpup is shit, but every bullpup that doesn't start life as one is, even if they're functional. There's no avoiding the knowledge I'm shooting essentially someone's shop contraption or kitchen conversion, and the feeling doesn't lend itself very well to accuracy.

I hope he takes the not-pistol thing further, but I could see having more success with not-AR unreceivers.

CETMEs have a pretty violent cycle, even in 5.56, but I'm optimistic about durability; and the modularity tickles my autism in a good way.

Update: Got my AR running pretty nice set-up rn. Took advice from here and other places and got a good light and got a good set-up for my sling, Need a ranger band for it tho.

Also wanted to ask a follow up question, as I asked about getting a ccw a while ago:

Running a Compact size gun as I wanted the versatility, but am curious where you guy wear IWB exactly. I feel like I need to take 5 tries to get it positioned in a way that doesn't print through a hoodie. Do you have a particular way of making sure it's lined up properly each time? Like lining up the front clip with a spot on your pocket or pants belt loops? Want to get it more consistent to minimize printing. Do not want to switch to Appendix until I am comfortable with running it IWB.

Running one of the larger IWB (4 o clock) holsters. It is comfortable and I can get it somewhere that barely prints after finagling it around a bit, but was curious about how to get a more consistent positioning. Like if there is some reference point on my side/back pocket of my jeans I should be lining up the holster clips to, or roughly where should the slide sit in reference to my side?

Everyones bodies are different so you're going to have to align it to what feels most comfortable for you. I personally wear mine either AIWB or at the 3 o clock.

When I'm carrying IWB I it's usually at 5 o'clock otherwise the grip starts angling away from my body. It all boils down to trial and error with what you wear/willing to wear, where you're comfortable carrying, the holster/pistol setup.... My Glock43x conceals pretty well in both a Stealthgear AIWB w/claw and their IWB holster. I'm a slim/muscular build and usually am just wearing Fruit of the Loom Large/tall white tshirts.

Like other have said you'll have to find what's comfortable for you.

Don't worry too much about printing because chances are unless the gun is visible no is going to notice.

Yeah, I try not to worry if it prints a little, but with it being G19 size, the grip sometimes is more of a cock bulge on my oblique then it is "printing". Though it sounds like having to fuck with it when putting it on is just the name of the game.

Carrying got a LOT more comfortable to me when I went from a full size to a sub compact. I never used to be on the Glock bandwagon but my G43x is one of my favorite pistols now.

Yeah, I plan to eventually get a glock 43x or a sig p365 for a full-time ccw, but I wanted something to be a catch all for the moment. This one allows me to use it for ccw, fun range gun, Larper battle belt gun, and God Forbid: Home defense if absolutely needed (no light at the moment...)

I shot two different reproduction M1841 Mississippi rifles a week ago. With prepared bullet loads, the loading time was well under a minute per shot. Also I still have a powder burn on my right wrist because both rifles were right handed IE the primer ignition blasted out onto my right hand because I shoot lefty.
