A Polish Radom P-64 is my current dreamgun, and I was really hoping our ties with Poland & Ukraine would funnel some back this way. But now I really doubt it'll happen in my lifetime, at the rate things are going.
But failing that, I do still see Hungarian PA-63s around; and 9x18 Makarov is surprisingly easy to find still. Buffalo Bore makes a
very good JHP +P, and it's what I use on the regular.
I was disappointed when Harrell didn't use any during his recent 9x18mm video, but it sounds like the availability situation is flipped where he lives.

Happily though, I've already tested it on my own meat targets and gelatin; it's the only JHP Makarov round that I've found which penetrates & expands reliably, through a variety of materials. But that +P is stout, holy shit. Though my own Mak is tuned for it with better springs, but I wouldn't shoot Buffalo Bore +P through any Hungarian PA-63s or similar, for a variety of reasons. The first is that 9x18 suffers from bullet setback easily, but mostly because they'll beat themselves (and your hand) apart; especially if they're examples that rattle like a pipewrench just picking them up.
