Taking a carbine innawoods is not paranoid, it's just good practice. I'm partial to the Mennonite machine gun style ones, they're not bulky so they don't snag much, and they come in beefy calibers that can knock a bear on its ass pretty easily. See-through rings and a Tasco scope are optional.
 
Just set off a Federal primer in my room while using a Lee Loader. Serves me right for zoning out while watching movies. I probably ended up hammering it too hard.

Turns out Glock went ahead and confirmed the recent leak, those are their carbines, called GF-115F. The leaked pictures were models for the Brit Ranger Regiments but Glock announced their carbines are open for solicitation. While I'm not excited over yet another AR platform, curious to see how these will perform.

Hey Friends.

I recently acquired a 10mm Glock 40 Gen 4 MOS. Thereby relegating my Glock 20 being my compact concealed carry handgun. But enough of flexing my retard credentials.

I need a bit of advice: I need to outfit the Glock 40 with an optic and a light. I have a top budget of $600 to do that. Obviously cheaper is preferred. To be honest all the options on the market makes my head spin. I'm not exactly concerned about putting a micro form factor red-dot on it. A full-sized rifle red-dot wouldn't be totally out of proportion on the gun. As for the light, I am at a loss. I am an austist about many things, but weapon mounted lights are completely out of my wheelhouse.

I have to admit to being a bit behind the times. This is going to be my first handgun with a glass optics system, so I have a hard time knowing exactly what I want.
 
I have a Holosun 507c x2 on my G20, like it so far but I still need a wml. Anyone have any experience with the Modlite PL50-PLHv2? It does have a higher candela output than the Surefire x300.

I have the same optic, I really like the smaller Holosuns.

As for the Modlite, they're a great company but "more" isn't always "best". Big numbers are nice and all but keep your application in mind; a defensive use handgun. Do you really need to light up the whole street in the dark of the night? Personally you can't really go wrong between Surefire, Streamlight, Modlite, Cloud Defense; it's just personal preference on a handgun imo. I prefer Surefire because I've been using that the longest and it's never let me down.

However if you get an O-light or Inforce you deserve to be mercilessly made fun of.

might not be the same situation but the P350's body gets really hot after 10-15 minutes even through gloves. a deputy got a little burn on his finger when searching a larger-than typical area because he used the rear of the body as a finger rest on his "large" sized hands on a Glock 22. i fabricated a little aluminum heat shield for it which resolved that issue (a strip of aluminum sheet that is held in place by the screw) but i think he's looking at a different light now.

i've had a lot of success with surefire and streamlight pistol lights, and used an older X300 model (and at one point the really old L3 UTL M2) myself with good success. really once you get over 200-300 lumens, the brightness eventually becomes heat and just washes stuff out past 600 or so. you need a hi-lo option and constant on vs momentary control, but otherwise there are a lot of lights out there that work pretty well. you get beam distance with reflector design not with increased brightness.

Thoughts on the importance of a cowitness with an MRDS? I recently grabbed a G19 MOS and am considering the Holosun SCS when I can find one or something else, but if I get something else like the RMR or 507 then I have to consider supressor height sights or no cowitness. SCS sounds nice in theory but I don't like the idea of not having access to the battery and also relying on their auto-brightness feature.

Preference. People like Sage Dynamics zero theirs independent of the sights and teach that, but I personally prefer to co-witness mine.
Some people run pistols without irons at all and just an MRDS but not sure if they do it for gaming or for carry (which would be beyond retarded).
