Anyone else feel like Ruger's QC has shit the bed in the last few years? They were never perfect, but the amount of issues that I've seen pop up seems more common than usual. A buddy was showing me his EC9 and racking the slide on that sucker felt worse than the one on my cheap zastava.
Only ever had an American Rimfire rifle, the two problems I have had with it is the stock (chassis?) is out of line with the barrel. Doesn't effect shooting, just looks kinda shit.
The other is that the magazine release with flush mags is garbage.

If they're smart (they're not) they'll keep them open to civ sales and not give LE freebies.

I heard at least a rumor, Barret refused to service one of their rifles owned by LAPD Metro SWAT because of Los Angeles's anti 2A stance.

You'll probably hate me for saying this but the Delta Elite is actually really nice if you want a 1911 in 10mm; I've shot a few though and they do handle smooth so if you get a chance to try one I'd recommend it. I really want another .38 Super 1911, I had one for a while but I let it go because I'm a retard.
I have a 2007 build Colt Delta Elite, and its a raging piece of shit. It's been back to Colt once for a new slide and barrel because it would bulge the cases of Blazer aluminum because Colt didn't use a proper ramped barrel for them (The Glock smile, if you're familiar). It won't bulge the cases of Blazer aluminum now, but any sort of "real" 10mm load it most certainly will.

I have also NEVER seen a 1911 do this, and I have no idea how the fuck that happens short of shitty Colt QC at the time. I think current production Deltas are "not as bad" but if you insist on a 10mm 1911 get a Dan Wesson Razorback instead and be happy.

2007 build Colt Delta Elite
historically, the Delta Elite was built on race gun fully supported chambers not because the 10mm Auto needed it explicitly, but because full-load 10mm Auto that push a 200gr bullet out past 1200 f/s needed it (higher than 37,000 psi). then the new production Delta Elites use a more typical 1991 barrel and while this will work for most 10mm Auto ammo out there, stuff that's closer to 180gr at 1200 f/s flat out doesn't have that pressure curve. ergo if you want traditional Norma 185gr 1350 or 200gr 1200, you should have a ramped barrel. you can wiggle around and find 180gr 1250 ammo a 37k psi which might or might not be better suited to a supported chamber depending on the thickness of the web where the rim and case are formed.

More forgotten SKS madness (from 2013)
IMG_1226.jpgIMG_1230.jpgIMG_1229.jpg
This is a Norinco Type 56 SKS. The action was professionally stripped of all grease, sand-blasted, duracoated combat black, then reassembled into a SG Works bullpup stock kit.

Other modifications:
- Front sight base removed
- Barrel shortened to 18" & re-crowned to a 11-deg target bevel
- Barrel threaded to 14x1LH standard AK specs
- CNC Warrior Derita Demon Brake fitted to barrel
- Bolt carrier bead-blasted to a satin finish
- Magazine drop free mod completed (magazines can be removed or inserted on a closed bolt)
- Comes with flip up iron sights & forward bipod handgrip.
- Plenty of picatinny rails for optics & other accessories of your choice
- 2 Tapco 20rnd magazines included (pictured)
That grip-pod & edgy comp looks gay as fuck, but the rest isn't too horrible; just like something the Chicoms would do.

It was "fine" the last time I ran it, and like you said, it still won't handle anything approaching the old Norma loads "properly" as it will still bulge those a little bit. Off the shelf blasting ammo is fine now, but I didn't buy this pistol just to shoot weak downloaded rounds.

It sits in the safe waiting for me to send it off to somebody for Novaks and a properly fitted ramped barrel.

I feel that this upgrade is far more respectful and reversible to the M1 compared to the EBR thing. There's just fewer and fewer M1's anymore, which is the same reason I'm extremely hesitant to make permanent changes to my Nornico SKS, it's all about the history.
They made quite a lot of M1s, they're around pretty widely and you can still get refurbed ones from the CMP at a price which I think is very agreeable for a what's actually a very good semi-automatic milsurp rifle, especially for its era. Try getting a Walther G43, SVT-40, or Hakim for even a third of the price of a decent M1, and those rifles are just far less shootable, the M1 is even easily available in .308 Winchester, and with the original .30-06 Springfield you can feed it high powered hunting loads assuming you've replaced the gas plug with something like a Schuster adjustable one (but don't without one).

The M1 also has widely available surplus AND new clips, as well as various spare parts (to a degree, even in Europe), which cannot be said for those other examples, magazines for those are rare, and magazines just do not interchange freely between SVT-40 rifles, they had the same issue in production there as with the PPSh-41, sets of mags had to be paired with the gun in question.
The only other comparably practical milsurp semi-auto rifle today is the SKS, which is cheaper and has generally cheap ammunition, and while it's an overall decent rifle, I think the M1 is a lot better and a lot nicer, weighing basically the same but with better ergos and sights, with higher power and a faster reload.
Further, Fulton Armory offers brand new parts for the M1, and will offer to build a new rifle if you provide them with a receiver, even to the short Tanker style. A bit pricy, but it's there, perhaps one day, the 3D printing revolution will allow the development of replacement tooling to make new M1 and BM59 receivers.

Thoughts on Barret being 100% acquired by a *gasp* Australian company?
RONNIE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Henry just released a PCC with wooden furniture that takes Glock mags. Not gonna lie, I kind of want one.

That actually looks very clean and sleek, it's pretty in a modest manner. A plastic Glock magazine feels a bit out of place for such a pretty and old fashioned looking gun, but I see the practical aspect, and with one of the shorter mags it won't look too bad. Maybe it has an interchangeable magwell?

Hah, didn't know you could flip up a piece on the stock on these so you could use clips.

Try replacing the firing-pin stop? If you get one with a square profile (like the rearmost in the picture here) and fit it to the pistol, and then carefully radius the edge facing the hammer until you get a balance of not getting bulged cases, and the slide not being completely unbearable to rack with the hammer down, that might help. It'll reduce felt recoil and wear too. (You'd probably still want to cock the hammer before racking it anyway). Anyway, I can't say I'm too surprised at nuColt fucking something up.

MSRP is going to be over $900.
Not the worst IMO, it'll probably come down a bit with time.

It does have an interchangeable magwell, yeah. It has options for original Henry mags (below), Glock mags, Sig P320 mags, and M&P mags. Henry ones look decent but will probably cost twice more than Glock mags.

Be nice if they would have an adapter for Beretta 92 mags.
I mean, it's probably the only pistol magazine that is as prolific as Glock.

Don't see a reason why not. May as well add a magwell for CZ mags too, no shortage of those.

I'm sure someone is already thinking how to add a light to it without just clamping it on to the barrel. Guess could get a rail adapter for the sling mount, but then it'll be bulky. Or could wait for Woox to do an aftermarket forend with mlok kind of like their Mossberg ones.

Just buy a generic section of rail and screw it into the handguard.
