All this talk of shotguns ironically has me thinking of pistols lol. I'm thinking on the Security-380, pretty sure I want this 15 round pea shooter at this point, and my local sportsman's not only has it in stock, but at 319$. Mount a laser on the rail, and this thing is gonna be a fun pop gun, for bedside, car, and of course, sodacans in the woods.

I'm not 100% yet, and do have money for something more expensive, like the SD40VE, a cheap RIA 1911, or something like a Maverick 88 if I wanna go the shotgun route... but I just like it bros. It's as simple as a emotional response. I've shot 380, I like the recoil, and in something a bit more full sized, this thing is going to have almost no kick, practically a laser, which really, I just find fun. That and 380 auto should insulate me from a lot of ammo shortage issues.

It's a pretty good gun from what I've heard. A note on the ammo shortage issues: .380 auto was very hard to find at my LGSs for a good bit of 2020-2021. My understanding is that manufacturers prioritize making 9mm over .380 when demand shoots up. That and it usually costs more than 9mm.

Pretty well the opposite where I was; no one was touching 380, so boxes were still on the shelves. Good to know the gun is solid.

The Obrez looks like an awful weapon but I understand the need for a "covert" firearm in a place where pistols and ammunition may not be widely available.

Personally I'm not big on striker fired pistols like the Glocks but I'm interested in potentially going for a hammer fired sidearm. I never took pistols seriously but I don't mind having a few for myself, just because.

Not bad at all for the price. I looked into converting my 9mm P365 into a .380 with the SIG conversion kit for about $310. This is a whole new gun for that price.

It's a good choice

Also, of you want a RIA 1911, they make one in 9mm with a .25TCM conversion kit. I'll get one eventually

I do know about the RIA conversion kit to .25TCM. It's a interesting cartridge. Very zippy to be sure, a 9mm case necked to 25 cal. At least it's cheaper than 5.7.

With the tires I just purchased for my car however, just a little less with tax than the Security-380, while I still have the cash to do any of the things listed, if you've been keeping up with the Welper car saga, while I definitely want a Car gun like the Security-380, I'll admit, I'm getting iffy on it.

But I'm half way there at the same time. Want to take a buddy to the range, he hasnt had the best experience with revolvers, think he shot a 357 in boy scouts when he was WAY lighter, so I wanna make it a bit more user friendly on him. That and again, I've liked it since Ruger came out with it. A 1911 is forever, but who knows how long they'll keep the Security-380 in production?

380 in general is just a strange cartridge to me. Light, yet slower than 9mm, yet still considered the minimum in terms of lethality. People like it where others similar have failed due to recoil, light weight of the ammo, ease of building guns for it, suppressor friendliness, or some other personal reason I can't describe. Hell, there's even a few effective hollow points now. It's gotten way more development than you thought it would have, and I'm all for it

Reading might be difficult, but understanding what you're reading is even harder, evidently.
You're paying so little attention that you're referencing articles from the last time this happened in 2019/2020.

Here's what happened at that point:

Flashforward to today where you can see that:
This was a single DISTRICT judge (Benitez), and his ruling WILL be appealed to the 9th circuit. Cali government will ask for an emergency stay of the order until it is sorted out, and nothing will likely change for the next few years.

It looks like the 9th circuit got a little bit more balanced from Trump appointees, but my guess is that the 9th circuit will reject this ruling and it will have to go back to SCOTUS.
If you want any more analysis of the legal side you'd have to call in some of the forum's lawfags.

We are in uncharted territory with Bruen, but from looking at a few cases across the country it seems liberal judges are still refusing to consider Bruen in their rulings, so I don't see why this would change for the 9th circuit.

I dont have a crystal ball, but the current tactic seems to be to stall with as many appeals as possible until the Supreme Court can be "adjusted" to get them their desired outcome.

Coupled with the fact that there is no effective punishment for enacting laws you know will be unconstitutional (unless you were dumb enough to record it, or have it written somewhere) we are still in for a hell of a ride. They can pass laws faster than they can be struck down.

For example, it seems that California's microstamping requirement was struck down by the courts, but they've reintroduced a 99% similar law anyways, to take effect in 2028. Why not if there's no penalty?
