Chinese bodyarmor popped up with China's peacekeeping forces in Africa. I'd be fair to question it's quality and how widespread its use is in the PLA, though it's still there. Main thing with China though is that I suspect most infantry combat against them will be done by the USMC, which seem happy sticking with the M27 for the time being (which also goes to show that the 416 is still in US service for now).

You're talking shotguns, right? I've owned and run plenty of shells through a 1300. Hell, it was the very first firearm I ever bought. I wish I'd kept it for sentimental reasons. It was a solid performer. I don't know anything about the SXP.

A post script to the addendum, Just over a year ago it came to light that backplate replacement conversion devices exist not only for Glock pattern firearms, but for (at least) Smith and Wesson SD series guns as well. I have personally never seen one seized, I have never seen one fired and to my knowledge there exists only this one (not very good) image of one attached to a SW SD40

Some of you may have seen Brandon Herrera's latest cursed gun images video, which featured an MG-34 upper modified to work with an AR lower, well here's some more info on it.
It's called the BRP XMG and dates back to at least 2006 (according to a customer review at near the bottom of the product page, but a post in the linked below arfcom thread said that it had been available for around 5 years, so 2004).
In 2009 ATF apparently decided that the upper can't be put on a transferable MG Lower (?) but is perfectly acceptable to put on a semi auto lower

When you say this, are you referring to private company armors, or their 6b23, 6b45, etc? Alot of their private company armors are pretty much western clones or use western material (atacs, sso, modul). I do have a few unique examples of eastern body armor that I'm assuming are protypes or newly made as they lack manufacturer tags. Regardless, they do lack quality.

More referring to the general trend in the Ukrainian war. I'm sure I'm missing context; I'm not as into the specific equipment autism, but the general trend was that body armor was severely lacking; definitely among the Russian equipped insurgents, but even among the Russian conscripts.

I guess my main point ultimately is that I don't see the situation with body armor being as dire as was being told to push for the development of 6.8/.277 Fury.

Welp, fuck. Guess I'm joining the club I didn't have any intentions of joining.
Buddy I play OS MTG with has a Taurus M44 8 3/4 44 mag in shiny, shiny stainless for a knockout price. Only been fired a few times, was given to him and has been sleeping in safe never being used. For the price he's selling at, it'd be dumb not to. Guess I'm on the lookout for good 44 ammo and some wood grips. A mounting system for a small scope. Also a holster, don't know if I want something across the chest or at my hip.
Didn't think I'd ever get something in 44 aside from maybe a lever action, but here we are.

Sounds like a good way for me to get a .44 to the teeth, haha. I was thinking big burly target wood grips. Something with deep finger grooves, good checkering/relief cuts or rubber panels, and a thumb ledge. Not planning on going cowboy with it. Gonna use it to hunt. But never liked the overmolded rubber grips. I know they help with grip and recoil. But every 44 I've shot with them on felt like grabbing an old potato.

SJHP 300gr XTP will serve for hunting and personal protection for any medium (and some large) game in north america.

Hammers top rail mount, torque to 35 in-lbs and nothing heavier than 250g on top serves very well. alternatives would be a Weigand standard mount which involves drill/tap a pair of 6-40 screwholes into the revolver's top strap. use this one for heavier scopes up to 500g, on revolvers, the heavier scopes have a moment during recoil that can result in excessive strain on the mount itself when it isn't drill/tap or insufficient screws are used - this can result in excessive perceived recoil from rotational inertia, damage to the scope and/or user if the mount is dislodged, et c.

also i should mention 240gr SWC or SJSP are excellent man stoppers and are good for cougars/coyotes as personal protection when your rifle is slung. in a pinch it can even do boar, although i don't know if i'd trust it for bears. if you have a .44 magnum carbine like a Rossi M92 or something, it can also do deer sized game similar to a .30-30, although not as flat shooting.

I mean you can definitely shove it in your cargo pocket no issue, now a days those in production are tiny. As for lethality... yeah, actually. WW1 got plenty of kills with 32. A 380 would be easier and cheaper to get and load today, but it's not impossible by any stretch.

I know man. I just want a Beretta Tomcat so I can have a little mousegun, and once I have a RIA 1911, I'll have a whole range of pistols with different power, ammo that I can store in case of a shortage (that's a good thing of 32, it don't run out lol), and form factors
 
OSINT Researcher War Noir has brought to my attention something truly bizarre. A Type 2 AK (produced 1951-1954) that appears to have been modified to function similarly to the Hopak/Gopak-61 straight pull rifle I featured in a post recently. The rifle was seized from a criminal in Chernihiv, The Ukraine. A custom made buttstock looks to have accompanied the rifle but is not attached. The suppressor follows the general construction of the VSS/VAL Series of suppressors (ie sights mounted on the suppressor itself) but for reasons unknown sports a bottom mounted lug of no immediately clear purpose
