You can easily find .300 PRC or even .300 Norma Mag if you want the crazy 30 caliber ELR stuff no problem. It sounds as if you want this rifle to kill big game and you're not terribly concerned about LR performance. Locally I have no clue on but I've not bought ammo from a local business in about a decade. I only order online and then have the shipments redirected to a local store for whichever carrier.
I've always bought ammo from stores tbh. I don't buy often enough to go online. Thing is even then, I've been able to find .300 PRC and Norma in stores. Problem is the ammo is more expensive than 300 Winchester Magnum, and the rifles are always fucking expensive.

But yes, for the main point, I basically bought it for power and extending my hunting range. The rifle is a Franchi Momentum, a nice but not super expensive hunting rifle ( its gone up a few hundred since i bought mine). Utah has lots of Elk, and there is the chance you bump into a pissed off moose. Wanted to have something recommended for all of that while still being relatively common.
Another note if you want to start reloading .300 Win Mag: properly annealed and otherwise cared for, one can easily get into double digit reloadings of a case. The problem most guys have is with the brass bulging above the belt after a few firings. This guy makes a die that resolves that issue. I've gotten 12 firings out of Hornady H&H brass before I tossed the case and it probably could have gone more. I was using 76 grains of H4350 to drive a 270 grain A-Frame so I was being cautious there.

So as I said earlier, keep your brass and you can not only get a lot more life out it than you think, you can create rounds that wring max performance out of the rifles you own.

PS: Hornady One Shot sucks dick. Either commit to giving every case an Imperial Sizing Wax coat or make your own lanolin-based case lube.
This is good to know. Thank you.

can't say for sure if it was a joke or not. it seems TRUE and HONEST but sometimes i have the social skills of an autistic person
Nah, I think dude's reaction was genuine. I just think the other guy firing the rifle had blanks in it. At least I hope so. Not enough dirt kicked up and no muzzle movement.

I saw a clip on Twitter from penguinz0 saying the same thing, but he doesn't believe they were blanks, but actual real bullets. I don't know much about guns, but I would assume Charlie knows more than me when it comes to how guns operate considering I'm aware he's a gun owner himself.

Before anyone wants to negrate me, it was a clip posted by DramaAlert I saw on my Twitter "for you" page, I don't watch Charlie lol

Assuming this is real, the person who pulled this shit was a Marine (not sure if former or current) and recorded himself committing a crime lol.

Rosboron's new(ish) PDW/PCC(?) in 9x39; the SR.3MP:

Length is 410mm (16"), weight is 2.18kg (4.8lbs)

But check out the length on that suppressor; I'd have thought they'd have copied newer & better Western designs by now, or sourced some from their Chicom friends.

And :story: @ pic rail on the grip. I figure it's probably something they did for bench testing, but still lol.

Looks to be a standard operating system; no telescoping bolt, or anything obviously weird.

The cartridge is the most interesting part for me, ever since I first heard about them.

Holy shit, I thought that was camera equipment or a tripod or something. Won't lie, I kind of like the thing. Put a can like that on a MK23 and feel like a super sniper. You could always just whack people across the face with your fore-end baseball bat if you run out of ammo.

My first time as well, from what I can find, it appears to be like an AP-oriented soviet take on something like 300blk. A weird intermediary necking of a rifle cartridge designed to be more mobile for things like PDWs. Can't find a whole lot on it, but it appears to be a war more consistent round than 300blk. Pretty flat shooting up to 350, way less drop off than 300blk.

supposed to be a pretty wicked AP round. something about the mass of the penetrator that makes it trivial to penetrate lvl 4 or something.

should be a pretty good short range hunting round when loaded with proper bullets, which would be fairly easy as it shares bore diameter with 9.3x57, 9.3x62 and so on (.366). you can build a AR for it.

I recently got 200 5.56/.223 stripper clips and 7 USGI bandoliers in the mail, in addition to 3 (empty) M2A1 ammo cans.

It’s pretty autistic and simple but I’m hyped to be upgrading my ammo storage system, and I’m excited to be able to hopefully speed up my mag loading whenever I’m at the range.

Isn't that a subsonic round? I got the impression it was for CQB/interiors. Does anyone fire at targets that far with it?
I thought everyone on the internet knew about the VSS(special sniper rifle) Vintorez and the AS(automatic special) Val. The VSS is suppressed marksmen rifle intended for taking down sentries. The AS is a the assault rifle version with 20 round mags and without the scope.

I don't have real world experience with a VSS, but in Arma shots past 200m are unreliable at best. Drop, wind drift, and energy retention are all better than .300 blk, but it's still a subsonic round shot from an 8" barrel with pistol levels of bullet drop. It's just 9x19 super instead of .45 ACP levels of drop.

GOST Class 4 (Russian standard). I've never seen anything about it pening NIJ Level 4 or ESAPI.

I wish i could find the paper about its armor penning capabilities. it was really interesting but it was 2 PC's ago.

Once you get enough toys you gotta keep em tidy. No shame to be amped for that. I am always biting my tongue buying a shelf or new safe or something like that and then my life gets so much better I don't mind my fun money going into something that makes my hobbies easier and take less room.

Range report, the 2 inch Model 60 is a treat.

.38 special kinda feels like 9mm with a bit more felt energy going into your hand .... No slide reciprocating away some energy.

.357.... Holy shiiiiittt hold on tight. .357 out of a 2 inch barrel J frame is an experience. Smacks your hand even with a two handed grip. I would NOT want to feel .357 out of an air weight or scandium frame revolver.

The fixed sights are a bit low so aim a tiny bit lower than what you'd normally do and you're dead on.

Now I want a Model 66 from some K frame goodness. Also the Blackhawk flattop that I want is basically a unicorn as it seems that Ruger makes under 1,000 a year and they aren't made at a set time so who knows when they'll show up so I think I'll be getting a Model 66 next month with my Marlin 1894 .357 lever action 😎

Model 60 is a fun little warm weather gun meaning you can pull off conceal with just a shirt or a bumpack if wearing a bumpack is your thing., I got one of the performance center models with the three inch flat sided barrel and a buddy of mine has old school model with no dash and a pinned barrel we traced the serial number back to around 1969.

Yep it can work with a pocket holster as well and IWB/OWB.

Now it does have the extra girth of a cylinder but it's not gigantic.
