cmon man, at least give a little credit! it's fair to shit on low end tuners that go around with something to prove but for the big brains out there it's not about making the civic/dagger the fastest piece of shit on the block. it's about making it just right for you!
you're spot on about them being good for new shooters though. at the risk of being looked at like a fool comparing them to games they kinda remind me of resident evil 4's starter pistol. it's not spectacular with anything particular but if you stick with it the gun's never going to let you down. i'm slapping one together for my old man's birthday/father's day and i'm excited to the point of powerlevelling and telling you all! i'm flipping the script since when i was a teenager i always told him i wanted a gun for my birthday. it's gonna be a stainless slide, a black frame, and a black fluted barrel.
You're a good son.

A word about Daggers, the striker on mine and a bunch of other peoples online would break after dry firing too much. Admittedly mine only broke after dry firing it about 50 times in a row like a retard.

Not my photo but every single broken Dagger striker I've seen has been broken in the exact same spot. I just replaced mine with an OEM glock striker I had on hand after PSA sent me another one.

Barring that I love my Dagger and it hasn't let me down since they were released besides that one issue.

Reading through the Guntubers video comments people are mad PSA is paying for ads the same way they got mad for Raid: Shadow Legends buying out all of their favorite content slaves. Youtube creators can rarely resist the call of money and while they aren't gay, $20 is $20.

Ahaha lol yep. PSA knows that mind share = market share

It helps that PSA quality has gotten better and better (not perfect but a LOT better) in the last 5 years

Edit and complete change of subject: I just got into cerakoting motorcycle parts using their C Series coatings (air cure, no oven needed) and am thinking about taking a couple of my Dagger frames and giving them wild paint jobs

Do it. I'm currently trying to get someone to anodize my machined lower. Fucking HELL it's a PITA.

US Anodizing is great but good luck getting them to return an email.

A local shop I called up seems legit and I'll head down Monday and get a quote.

Faxon pencil 16" with pinned GB, SI Miller Comp and Aero tube
Aero slick side stripped upper + random port door assembly and BCM Gunfighter CH from the leftover parts bin
12" Aero Atlas R-One

Hehe I used to have that aero handguard, swapped it for a 13 inch BCM.

That barrel is super light, I'm going with a chunkier version, the Criterion CORE this summer for my two builds

I believe the CORE is basically a modified M-16A1 barrel profile and their "Hybrid" is a modified Government/A2/M4 barrel profile

Blemula mk16 in DDT and CMT UHPR HDX mod 2 handguards

Can't wait for memorial day sales 🥲

That's why I'm huge into snap caps

I love PSA as a company. They're very money where mouth is. Operating at a loss to keep prices attainable. Actually supporting 2A. Starting AAC to make sure there is an ammo company stateside that doesn't kowtow to fed faggotry. If I recall, they were even shipping 'illegal' guns and ammo and mags to commie States well after everyone else got sacred and stopped. I seem to recall California tards seething about PSA finally cutting ties with the gayest state.
Plus, they allowed my wife to build a great, not exceptional, 300blk AR she wanted for like 400 on one of their frequent 50 percent off deals.

People talk shit, but as I said, I have healthy expectations for a gun I paid 400 bucks for brand new and from the manufacturer. And I've not been dissatisfied.

I was always taught by my dad not to dry fire weapons if you can help it, but the fact that PSA just replaced your broken pin bodes well for my questions about their warranty habits. I think this thread has helped convince me to get a Dagger, thanks y'all!

Thanks for the info! Regarding the trigger mods one of the above posts said people would put layers of tape on a Glock trigger to shorten the trigger reset length, so I could kind of understand that. But especially since it's single action only, how much lighter can you really make it lol

Edit: single action only on the PSA, I imagine the Glock trigger would still be SA in the Dagger?
Yet another reason why hammer fired chads are superior.

Dry fire is kind of a mythos. You shouldn't ever dry fire a rim fire like 22. But that's because the firing pin is offset to hit the rim of the cart and may strike steel face if there is nothing in front of it. Dry fire on center fire guns goes into an empty hole, so the only risk is the shoulder of the pin snapping from hitting the face full force. Good firing pins mean no problems. Source, most of the discount 'broken' guns I've bought just needed a pin replacement. I've often wondered if a metal with better reverberation make up like titanium wouldn't fix this issue of snapping off at the shoulder.

I dry fire 100s of times a day. Keyboard job, zoom meetings, *click*, *rack*, *click*. Even have little targets all around the room.

Haven't broken a gun yet. Might just be lucky.

I can't speak for others but dry firing got me 80% of the way to an alright pistol shooter alone.

Desk jockey dry fire gang rise up. (Once your break gets approved)

I have a similar setup in my office at home. My dryfire practice rarely involves pulling the trigger on my semi auto weapons, but I too have done this many, many times over the years and never had a problem. Never even had a firing pin deform, even on 1911s. I practice target/position transitions, reloads, stance changes while aiming, reloads while moving, that kind of thing. For me, once I know the characteristics of a trigger using either/both hands (pull length, perceived weight, reset distance) I get nothing extra out of pulling it in dryfire. Some of my friends think I'm dumb to not pull the trigger more in dryfire practice but my performance at matches says I'm fine. I bet I can make master in CO and production in USPSA in the next 12 months.

For my revolver that has a firing pin on the hammer I definitely use snap caps always.

Or you could just use snap caps justa thought, you can dry fire all the live long day and you can practice speed strip loading your wheelgun.
It's a bit tedious to dry-fire semi auto striker fired handguns with traditional snapcaps. You can get the snapcaps without rims, but you can't really use them for malfunction drills and you gotta pop em out after you're done. I'd rather just buy a defensive handgun that doesn't break from normal use, than worry about firing pin breakage on a Canik or PSA. With that said I dry fire with snap caps in my centerfire revolvers, use them for reload practice and don't have to worry about ejection.

Does PSA still have payment processor problems? I heard one of the card handlers they use is leaky or compromised, but most of the posts about that on the 'dit are from years ago.
Could be some of their third party vendors they use, I bought some ammo (which is fulfilled by a third party I believe, came in a different delivery than the other stuff I ordered) and they proudly put a phone number on the order as part of the "shipping to" information.

I gotta attend some more matches soon. You're getting me off my ass.

Club to club can very but it kicks ass running a course with some other people.

It should be mentioned that if your firearm has a hammer that strikes the firing pin in a offset manner like on Hammered shotguns, and hammered falling block rifles and so on for example, you should not dry fire as they can break.
here is a bare action for a park-west/dakota SD-10 falling block (Hagn/farquharson falling block action):
ms-10-falling-block-action-with-no-caliber-receiver-early-1990s-production-number-10-single-sh...jpg

notice that the hammer strikes the pin at a angle. this was done to decrease the length of the action but can lead to breakage of the firing pin in dry fire. under normal use its not a problem.

I caught a case of the "retard with no impulse control" when I found a decent price on a Ruger Mk IV Hunter. There's a Mk II target model in my house but it belongs to the wife. I'll let you all know how it is when it comes in. I definitely don't need it but I did think it'd be cool to have something to yeet small forest critters if I'm out in the wilderness and I deem that necessary.

I've never owned a .22 WMR before so I'll probably want one of those someday. I'm open to researching any suggestions you all may have. In that regard, anyone have experience with CZ's current production of rimfire rifles?

I can speak to the 455, but not the 457. It would shoot through a dime at 50 yards with cheap Aguila ammo. Past that, my 3-9 scope and myself wasn't up to the task. Very smooth action, great trigger. Worse complaint I had was it had a 90 degree bolt throw, so everything felt a bit tight with low scope rings. The 457 has a 60 degree throw iirc so should make it even nicer to shoot. Wish I never traded it in.

Should be relatively similar overall and unless something major changed. They are one of the most accurate 22 bolts before you hop into Anschutz territory.
