Noquick question: is the ar-15 rifle overrated?
It's pretty rated, there's not really anything better than it that's come out in the past 70 years. Not much is lighter, cheaper, simpler, easier to assemble/disassemble, and generally intuitive.quick question: is the ar-15 rifle overrated?
its semi automatic.Isn't he technically in possession of an illegal machine gun?
Unless the old guy fucked with the gun back in the day, I'm pretty sure that thing should do full semi with a shit ton of work, even though it's a rusty POS
I'd put the Beretta ARX100 in that camp as well. It's pretty rated, there's not really anything better than it that's come out in the past 70 years. Not much is lighter, cheaper, simpler, easier to assemble/disassemble, and generally intuitive.
Plus you don't look like a towel head or small hat fella when you're rocking something else.
Cool points go to the SCAR, ACR, and anything that looks like them tho

quick question: is the ar-15 rifle overrated?
Personal view: it's a decent rifle, but it is a bit overrated. I personally believe there are better platforms and cartridges out there, but it's still a decent option that will take care of you if you buy quality and take care of it. I like AR-10 style rifles over AR-15s.
its overrated in the sense that neo-fudds claim its literally the best rifle ever invented for all uses and purposes.quick question: is the ar-15 rifle overrated?
That's a SWEET camcorder
It's an easily accessible medium that provides just enough firepower for any given task you build it for.quick question: is the ar-15 rifle overrated?
Springfield Armory announced a new M16A2 clone today with a chrome lined barrel.
They better make a complete A4 clone next lol since its only Colt and FN that make off the shelf A4 clones for now.
Thought that price tag is a bit too high given the PSA M16A4s come with an FN barrel.

Absolutely not. Its nearly the pinnacle of small arms development. And the rifles that do things better than it(say a folding/collapsible stock) are AR derived like the Sig MCX.quick question: is the ar-15 rifle overrated?
If you want an AK74SU theres absolutely no reason you shouldnt be buying the one PSA just released. Or if youre a super purist wait until they release the 5.45 version.I have acquiesced and realized that my want of an AKS74U is probably not going to happen. So I come with hat in hand to ask the good folks here.
I want one, I love the idea of a mini-AK.
Do I buy full size and then see if I can't source parts to convert it to a smaller size?
Or if not, does anyone make a decent Draco in 7.62 that isn't hood rat special shit? Or is it only Century?
too many people forget about the AR-18AR derived like the Sig MCX
I bet they use the government profile barrel on it, like PSA did. I highly dislike that barrel profile. Assuming they're manufacturing these according to the TDP I get why they do it but I'm not a fan.Springfield Armory announced a new M16A2 clone today with a chrome lined barrel.

honestly they missed a trick with making some late cold war rifle clones. Daewoo K2, Howa 89, heck go baller and partner with a GFR tool maker and make some QBZ clones or FAMAS (MAS .223) clones et c. people would buy the shit out of that for novelty and accessibility of a not-another-AR.I bet they use the government profile barrel on it, like PSA did. Especially since you can get a nearly identical rifle from PSA for a lot less money. Doubt the Springfield will perform any better.
Por qué?I bet they use the government profile barrel on it, like PSA did. I highly dislike that barrel profile.
I'd be surprised if they actually used the originals, and not just whichever one of theirs was within reach; then dressed up with A2 furniture.Assuming they're manufacturing these according to the TDP I get why they do it but I'm not a fan.
Besides, it's Springfield. Fuck those guys..... you can get a nearly identical rifle from PSA for a lot less money. Doubt the Springfield will perform any better.
wait, I thought ar-15 is popular just like ak-47.so I'd say underrated.
The majority of AR-15 owners buy an assembled rifle off the shelf rather than taking advantage of being able to make your own. Generic AR-15 is underrated, a specific product like the "Honey Badger" is overrated.wait, I thought ar-15 is popular just like ak-47.
That's basically what I feel. It's a Kel Tek problem in general. Some guns might come out great, others might be a mix of tight and loose fitting parts."nothing obviously wrong with it but it still won't work" to me screams bad part tolerances, where you may have parts on the upper end of acceptable tolerance that sometimes causes them to interfere, or a similar kind of mismatch. I'm sure parts have been swapped in an effort to fix it but it could just be a cursed receiver or something lol
I would buy the shitbout of a FAMAS clone like you wouldn't believe.honestly they missed a trick with making some late cold war rifle clones.
