The Orca pictured above has it, but it doesn't count cause its 3d printed. Gun manufacturers need to produce more plastic crap damnit!
No idea if it was on purpose, but none of the working surfaces having 90 degree angles or any real consistent flow in shape is very good for integrity of the printed design.
I'm still impressed though I don't think I would ever want one.

Im sure it was on purpose, Hoffman is a literal genius when it comes to 3d printed guns.

My man came up with two totally different FRT style trigger things that cost pennies to make, way fucking better than some dumbass $400 cassette. Wonder what he's got in the works rn, not a whole lot is going on for files these days

I plan to put a super safety on my recent SL-15 build if the ATF doesn't pwn them. I've heard that even 3d printed SS's will last a couple hundred rounds.
I hope he keeps making more shit, at this rate he'll be remembered alongside niggas like Stoner and Kalashnikov in terms of engineering. I want a fully-diy design from him

What's the print cost per gun if they only last 300 rounds? I say "only" but that's damn impressive that they last more than a few rounds. Plastic is versatile and they keep finding new limits for the stuff.

It's not the gun that lasts 300 rounds, it's the super safety/FRT/basically full-auto kit. You can print em for like 50 cents or buy a fancy metal one that'll last pretty much forever.

In terms of the guns themselves, an SL-15 AR lower printed in pa6-cf carbon fiber nylon will last just as long as an aluminum lower if you take care of it. It's just a bit bulkier.

My printed glock 19 lower (pa6-cf) has a few hundred rounds through it and still going strong. If anything the cheap ebay upper kit will probably fail first.

Instead of getting a ghetto metal one, just consider getting a printer, can't be more expensive than 1 or 2 of the metal ones.
Depending on how this rolls, you could just give the DMB SpicyMeatball a lil squirt if it's all the same.....

Less than ¢50, and that's if you're using $80/kilo PA-CF. If you're using $10/kilo PLA then you're looking at literal pennies and less than 3 hours or so to make one.
PLA-CF would prolly be a good move if you don't have an enclosure and a machine that'll do nylon, but gets close to nylon performance. Minus temp resistance of course, but your lower better not be getting hot.

Printed shit is pretty awesome for things like grips, stocks, rail accessories, or anything that'd be injection molded or made of a zinc alloy usually. You can replace my lots of steel and aluminum parts as well, beefing stuff up of course.
By the sounds of it, most companies hate the 3D gigachads since we're not gonna buy their faggoty gatling AR grip or whatever bullshit, we're gonna print it for a handful of change and tell them to suck it.

PLA-CF afaik is actually quite a bit weaker than normal PLA. The embedded CF mainly increases impact resistance and lowers layer adhesion which is great in nylon which has low impact resistance and great layer adhesion, but actually a detriment to PLA which already has incredible impact resistance.
PETG-CF might be a bit better of an option for a budget PA-CF, bambulabs sells some. I've never tried it though so good luck to anyone brave enough to put it in a gun.
I stick with good old PLA+ and PA6-CF. PLA+ for range toys i dont care about and PA6-CF for anything I want to last 'forever'.
My glock is actually printed out of PAHT-CF from bambulabs which is a pa6-pa12 blend for high temperature uses but it works just about the same.

Regardless, I highly encourage everyone who's into guns to look into 3d printing. I print guns, mags, accessories, i've printed hooks to hang my guns on the wall, i've printed replacement clips for an old sling, i've printed ammo boxes, a whole bunch of stuff. If you can handle the autism of wrangling a printer (or fork out $1.5k for a nice bambulab machine) its well worth it.
Theres a 3d printed gun general but I don't think there's a thread for 3d printing itself. Maybe i'll make one. nvm i found it

Now this is a use for 3D printing I can get behind! Most everything else I've seen people print is in the category of "cool but not worth me buying my own machine."

For all the niggers in this thread who haven't seen it: the m1337 printed rotary gun.

standard equipment for a lot of departments and i've used them for nearly 20 years now in varying capacities. bullshit shennanigans aside, certain models are definitely better than others and battery life can be an issue, however if you have a logistics train supporting you and you need something adaptable and rough handing, there's not too much out there besides them, Aimpoint, Raytheon, and Trijicon (with shout-outs to Doctor, Leupold, and Hakko). imho they're a bit dated now with better options on the market but if you're used to them and they work for you, then they aren't a bad option.

Do any of yall ever run eotech's or think they're worth getting?
I have an EXPS-3 and a G33 magnifier on my Block II, but I got them at a steep discount years ago. Like others said, battery life sucks. You can get an Aimpoint T2 for $150 more and it's easily my favorite red dot.

Speaking of red dots, it would be nice to see other companies catch up to Holosun in terms of handgun optics. Why they're one of the few who offer red dots that mount to specific optics ready handguns without a shitty adapter plate and have shake awake is beyond me.
