.22 LR rubber crowd control bullets would be pretty effective I bet, and less permanent than a real lead bullet.

I am still of the opinion a suppressed rifle, shooting subsonic rounds, with a thermal scope, is probably the absolute scariest weapon you could encounter. There's dozens of vids from the middle east of like one guy with a thermal scope taking out dozens of guys at night, and they're totally helpless. Can't do anything except hide. Even then, it's pitch black and you don't know if you're behind good enough cover.

Recently ordered one of those new recoil spring kits from Ed Brown for 1911s to install on my Dan Wesson. It comes with an 18lb flat wire recoil spring (typical 1911 recoil springs are round wire), bushing plug, and a half length guide rod. It's supposed to improve cycling (never had any issues with my DW), and make stripping and assembly much easier since the guide rod prevents the spring from kinking. It arrived today and I got it installed, and it definitely does make reinserting the recoil spring and reassembling the pistol far less of a pain in the ass.
 
The more I have to order parts, the more processing times feel like forever and 3 days for shipping makes the gray hairs come in.

I have an M9A4 and an 80X Cheetah. If they made a small red dot that was the same width as the plate then it could work. People might think that's a dumb idea but I bet it would be more effective than it sounds.
That said the stock iron sights on the M9A4 are the best of any handgun I own.

Any pistol looks retarded when you strap an entire mailbox on top of it! I've mucked around with pistol dots a bit and while they're cool I don't think they are a complete gamechanger like some portray them as.

i only have experience with dots on my p365, and only at the range so my opinion is limited. i find they are nice, but not game changers compared to a good set of irons. they are easier to see at night/low light, and they seem a bit faster to sight back on target when shooting fast. though i do find my current dot is less accurate than my irons, not by much, but it is noticeable. ive actually debated taking it off my gun since it does make my carry gun a tiny bit bulkier and the p365 has night sights by default.

Handguns can look good with added sights but rarely in the tacticool sense people want them to.

Take for example the Longslide 1911 w/laser sight from Terminator.

What you see pictured is a modern functional replica costing $5000. Notice how the laser sight connects right to the grip rather than up through the sleeve to a battery pack like the original. The sight is fully functional but obviously its unnecessarily large and provides no tactical advantage over a modern laser sight. However it does look cool.
 
Not much to report, last week I was finally good enough to play in my rugby league.. I'm not up for my normal . Cardio lacking. This is going somewhere. So I am going to my local club for some two gun.
I'm rusty so I'll take my good Larue as a main, definitely not sure what as a side arm I need some meme factor.

In low light, at distances greater than 20m, and especially re-engaging targets, they are clearly superior to irons. So while not a total game changer, they add enough net positives that I believe they should be integrated into everyone's EDC roster.

One model of RDS I was surprised at the quality of is the Vortex Defender ST. Its lower price point belies its quality. I've also heard the Sig Romeo 3 is also quite good, but that's a lot more expensive. Anyone run one of those?

Speaking of Sig, what do you all think of the P365 Fuse? I have a full size P320 I use for travel because I picked it up cheap and it's so average across the board it's much more expendable than my other pistols. It wouldn't be as cheap but I'm curious if the Fuse would be a better carry option all around.

Scoped and long barreled pistols are the coolest pistols. TEC9 with a C-more would be wild, MKIV or revolver with a scope is sick

Full disclosure - I haven’t handled one yet.

I alternate between a G19 (w/ ACRO and X300U) and the original sized P365 depending upon clothing, threat level and how lazy I’m feeling.

The Fuse is a strange size to me that seems to excel at nothing.

Desert tan with extra large matte black optics? Oof, yeah someone clicked the wrong "color choice" box when ordering something. Wasn't the army/USMC off-loading a ton of used M9's a while ago? That looks kinda clean for a field used weapon unless it was an officer holding a desk job or something. Either way that combo was a mistake.

…No - the M9A3 was in the latest weapons trials in that configuration minus being optic ready and lost to the P320 for several retarded reasons. Beretta decided to not let perfectly good tooling go to waste (just like Glock with the 19X) and released them to the civilian market.
