After Rugby swung by local friendly dealer (not meth for once i keed i keed.) I passed on a NIB priced used Ruger American 17, and I got a stupid an idea of that Rossi single shot 410/45colt. Then I remember that Taurus Judge I dealt with. But, I was thinking.. how hot could uncle basso load some 45 colt and have one silly hand cannon. We talked FAL vs G3 and his offerings. Then he mentioned "don't you need a safe and isn't your wifes car still not turbo?" Now that's a smart man, knowing if I blew my fun money with out ducks in order... I bought a few boxes of ammo shot the shit. Good gun trip.

As for Supressors, you are paying out the ass and eating the tax... don't go cheap get quality. They aren't cheap anyways, the gap from say 800-1000 isn't same as 200-400 despite being the same gap, if that makes sense. That being said, https://tioninc.com/minuteman/ these are my guys. Three of my cans are from them, aside being a personal friend of an employee (test shooting and getting to demo stuff sure helps) quality is top notch super easy to clean. My other can is a Gemtech, super dope.

I have a few of those metal clips for AR mags to "jungle" Never used them even in like 2 gun let alone a real gun fight. I have no idea where they came from either. Sometimes I just use em for pics.

In regards to earlier, about something old, yeah I'd love a rolling block, but with the cash on hand, it looks like I can get one of my short list grail guns, a 6mm Lee. If anyone cares I'll get into it but I'll spare you my faggy blog otherwise.

I always though those mag stocks were useless until I saw this cop using one after Trump was shot:

Since he rarely uses the rifle, it makes no sense for him to carry a spare mag on his belt all the time. The mag stock is an elegant way to carry extra ammo with the gun.

i mean, sarco made the USGI one for issue as part of cool guy gear in the 90's (https://www.sarcoinc.com/ar15-m16-mmh-g-i-multiple-magazine-holder/). choate also made a version too. the 80's one had a screw and was a two piece thing.

they were intended for low visibility personal protection or use with ditch kits. it wasn't anything intended for "faster reloads" or whatever. it was because you physically couldn't wear significant webbing due to other things you had to wear like a wet suit, local clothing, et c. and the rest of your kit was in a bag or something. if things became messy, you strapped up. if things kept cool, you had a ready spare mag without figuring out where it was hidden or if it's in a pocket and fell out, et c.

you also had this style which was awkward as all hell, nobody used this that i'm aware of. most people i worked with used the tape "V" method rather than purpose-made couplers, and even then it wasn't super common. most forces i encountered with AKs did not have bandoleers: you were more likely to see a lightly geared guy with an AKM with 4 mags in the chest rig, then one in the gun and one taped to that one - that gives them 6 mags plus some grenades and maybe one or two other things about that size. great for being light on your feet, and you could always just ditch the taped mags if they were a hassle.

for the US, our bandoleers could be used with clips, 20 round or later 30 round magazines depending if you broke the limiter string or not. later in OIF and OEF we had the magazine bandoleers for SAW and M240 gunners that were also used by infantry sometimes. imho i prefer the older string bandoleer vs the shoulder pouch design.

in the 90's drums were expensive and rare, and often not reliable enough without significant care. they are also very annoying to reload. it was always a good day if we could pick up an RPK or something with the 40 round mags or the drum, since it wasn't our logistics problem to care for it. casket mags weren't a thing yet, and it's not so bad if you're rocking an M4 some other carbine that's already a pound or so lighter. it's not like you'd blow through it fast anyway, singles and a few bursts work great imhe.
 
Do you need to register an address change if you have a suppressor and you move in a state where they're legal? Honestly the anxiety over that and the wait times for ATF approvals was the only thing stopping me from getting one for my glock.

Just a thought, but could this be his personal rifle rather than a department issued patrol rifle? The rifle seems too odd to be patrol rifle with the mag carrier stock, short quad rail handguard and what looks to be a 20in barrel. An oddly specific choice for the department to want on thier rifles, but not so much if this is this officer's personal build. That might also explain why one of the local swat guys had a sba3 pistol brace on their rifle too. Maybe there isn't enough funding or criminal activity to justify patrol rifles in this particular area, but they allow officer's to bring their own rifle if they feel they might need it?

not exactly. if it's temporary, there is a form for that. for example hunting with a suppressor in a different state than where it's form 1 or 4 was approved. if it's a permanent move it's a separate form (Form 5320.20: https://www.atf.gov/firearms/docs/f...r-temporarily-export-certain-nfa-firearms-atf). you do not need to pay the tax again, however you will have to follow any laws in the new state of residence for importing and possessing the NFA item.

its very common for law enforcement in many agencies to allow officers to use their personal weapons for their duties if they meet various guidelines. the exception is usually federal or highly regimented departments (LAPD, NYPD, et c).

@Club Sandwich listed the forms you need, I can safely say before their sandwich (I have no idea what pronouns you use for fucking toasted bread) help. I moved at least 3 times all in state with all 3 things. It's not hard tbh and as mentioned no new tax.

Worse case, I said "if you don't give me the paper work you know where I live and I have a machine gun nigger, try me". I actually didn't have to pay taxes that year, I highly suggest just threaten all your local mayors too. No seriously don't do this.

If your guns are in a registered trust, that's also different. But I'll get into that if you are a trust holder.

Especially, when speed reloads are not a thing outside of IPSC. If you need more ammo on tap, use an extended magazine or a drum.
 
So I ended up in a rabbit hole looking at super-budget handguns and ended up on the FMK website and happened to notice this abysmal product photo.
