The Burris RT6 is probably the best budget LPVO by far. That said I sheared a lug off the included pepr mount torquing it to spec. Which many people were shocked by, apparently they're really robust. I bought a warne mount instead. Made in America. Burris did send me a new PEPR which is cool.
It seems like primary arms wants to swing to more US made stuff. I've seen this happen with other companies. Kore belts makes US made belts now. They're $10 more than the non US ones. They got established and now can make stuff here. I think that's just how it goes. It's hard to immediately just open up and be made in America for many things. But eventually the goal should be to bring it home. Kore belts are fantastic by the way. If you carry you need one. Even as every day belts they're great. $60 or less with discount and they'll last you forever. Gain or lose weight no problem. Don't cut it too short and you'll have space to shrink it or grow into it. Trauma shears work best for cutting them. I don't recommend the faux leather ones. They do get ripped up if you run them hard. My Dad did.
the faux leather work best with conceal carry in plain clothes like a suit or something. very well made belts though and they don't stain good clothing easily and can take a waxing.

True, I hadn't thought about that. I just use a nylon black Kore for many events. Nothing super formal but formal enough. My spouse who is much higher class than me thinks they look great and pretty classy for most things. I should get one thinking about it. For when I really must wear something classier.
it's a must-have accessory for a friend of mine to wear his "Very Fancy Pistol" to weddings and the like. and it draws less attention than a more obvious tactical-looking belt. i guess one way to view it is having an option to carry in more situations in different types of events.
Everyone prepare your anuses, Stacatto finally broke down and is releasing a Glock mag version.... LMAO. I guess the Platypus and Apollo were actually eating into the retardedly overpriced 2011 market.....

The natural evolution of the 2011.
Literally no reason not to do this, or that Dan Wesson/CZ version that is like a 1911 on a CZ75 lower. As soon as polymer 2011's became a thing, it was only a matter of time.
I would hazard to guess the biggest obstacle to practically any 2011 running worth a fuck are mags, no matter if you get a high end or low end 2011.
Oh no, the batteries provided are not in child resistant packaging? IT'S A SIGHT FOR A GUN, if your kid is eating batteries from your gun cabinet you need to lock that fucker up tighter.
The optic "doesn't have warnings" that say "don't open this and put the battery you find inside your mouth" this makes me MATI lmao

I like that Staccato is going with external extractors on their pistols, at least for some of the models. The OG type extractors on 1911s and 2011s obviously do work, but I prefer something more easily end-user adjustable/replaceable. That fucking rear sight on this thing, though...
Not quite. I'm not trying to be a pedantic dickhead about it, but the DWX frame is not nearly as much like a CZ 75 frame as I would have liked. It doesn't have the internal slide rails that I love so much about the 75. I don't know if that's from an engineering consideration or if they knew people would cry about less slide surface area to grip for manipulations.
The whole thing is more like a 2011 with a CZ 75-shaped frame (that doesn't take CZ 75 magazines, retardedly) and no grip safety. And when so many of us were salty Dan Wesson didn't put them out with optic-ready slides, then they fucking start selling those. Goddamn it. Learn a lesson from me, peeps, FOMO can make you spend money on shit you don't need and probably won't even like.
fire damage is difficult to recover a weapon from, more often than not it's a loss. this is why fire ratings on safes are important and further, that you understand that even the best fire resistant ratings only buy you time. have insurance and anything especially precious should be kept in a format that is reasonably portable... but property is always secondary to your life or the lives of others.
fire extinguishers are very cheap to maintain and keep around the home or shop, same for oily rag bins, and chemical containers. while fires like huge events are rare, they do happen. what's more likely are fires from poor maintenance (leaks or bad wiring), inattentiveness, or bad decisions (lit cigarettes while falling asleep from a drug OD in a cotton couch while your child is trapped in a crib in a hoarded out apartment - yeah that was a call i had to take and it was horrifying).
my little secret: keep a go bag of precious or irreplaceable items in a fire safe and if the fire can't be controlled within a fraction of the rating, bug out with the go bag and make sure your people are with you and be sure you have a stash to get to or house you to ease recovery. stay up on your insurance and home maintenance. don't FA and end up regretting FO.
So what's going on with that new glock clone from Ruger, the Ruger RXM? I like the grey grips and slide. Apparently it's based off the 3rd gen glocks. 15 rounds standard isn't bad either. Almost certain it takes Glock mags too, so yes you can load up your meme 33 round sticks into this thing.

It's a 3rd Gen Glonk 19 with a chassis system cooked up by the boys at Magpul, with no finger grooves and a proper grip angle.
It's what the Gen 6 Glock should be.
They come with Magpul Glonk mags of course. Been hearing initial reports of minor issues with factory glonk mags, so like anything new I'll wait for the people who insist on owning one right away to shake the bugs out of them first.

I see. I didn't notice the grip angle until you pointed it out, but yeah. That looks nice to hold. Interesting to hear about the mags. Guess I'll just keep listening then to see if the issues persist.
I really want to try the RXM. I'm of the opinion the best striker fired gun on the market for the price is the CZ P-10C. Amazing stock trigger and ergos. Finish has held up perfectly to carry and having no AC at home. Higher humidity. Never had any issues. And for the memes it's a WW3 contender. Adopted by the Czech military as their sidearm
However, it doesn't take Glock mags. Which I own 0 of, but for practicality it's the best format. The RXM is really well priced, factory optics cut, and takes Glock mags. And has the serialized FCU. Hundreds of dollars less than a optics cut Glock. I hope they perform long term, I just want to try the trigger first.
