My use case is that I really just want to take it out to the range and shoot with it, maybe hunt with it if my uncle invites me on another hunting trip
If you intend to hunt with it, you want a longer barrel (28”) and interchangeable chokes. Magazine capacity may have to be limited depending on local hunting restrictions.

I prefer a vent rib barrel instead of just a plain barrel.

Would 26 inches work or am I legally obligated to purchase a shotgun with a 28 inch barrel for hunting?

As has been stated before, be aware that firing a shotgun without ear pro indoors is fucking painful. No, it's not like a flash bang but I'd avoid it if at all possible.
I prefer it to rifles, though if you're between rooms and the muzzle is beyond the doorway the sound is somewhat mitigated. It's best to keep earpo nearby if not on your person at home regardless.

Someone should make a suppressor that mounts like a bayonet, no threads, no ratchets, just a precisely machined taper for a gas seal and a female lug at the rear with a a spring loaded catch. Why? 1. So you could truly have the world's quickest attaching suppressor and 2. Just for fun
You could make a decent living if you could make it work on something like mosin, or m1 garand.

like mosin
I think there are reproductions currently made.
or m1 garand
I was thinking that too, you could base it off of the M7 grenade launcher since it shuts off the gas and locks onto the bayonet lug.

(not mine)

I disagree. I suggest it's not much different than CQB with a Mk 18 that has a suppressor on it. A lot of men have killed a whole lot of other men using that setup for decades now. Training and practice is how anyone can become skilled enough to do this easily. As has been stated before, be aware that firing a shotgun without ear pro indoors is fucking painful. Just a casual helpful reminder to keep your electric ear pro with your home defense setup. I have a bump helmet with comtacs and a PVS14 by my home defense rifle set up. The boosted audio is also nice. Except for when you’re out at the range pick up a conversation that you think is right next to you but in reality is actually 15 feet away and you make a comment standing by absolutely no one making you look schizo

Yeah, you see a lot of Guntuber Leviathan shills pushing for these obnoxiously loud 10" or 8" SBRs in 5.56 that'll blow out your fucking eardrums in an instant. Any time spent at the range will let you know that being next to one of those things going off - hell even being behind the trigger will give you a good case of tinnitus without proper ear protection. IIRC shotguns don't nearly have the amount of nasal destroying pressure, but if I were to take my pick I'd just stick with a 9mm PCC that I know is G2G for sure.

Fuck. I really really hate saying anything positive about .300blk buuuuuuut.... if your use case is home defense and you are very concerned about your ears, 6" barrel .300blk with a can is pretty much the ticket.

But don't do that. Use a suppressed SBR in 5.56 that won't live under your bed. You don't need special guns. You need one good one that you actually shoot.

i'm with you there. i trust my AP5 enough that i put a light on it and keep it aside for any sort of nefarious rascal.
AP5s are solid. I've spent way too much time & money buying almost every single PCC on the market only to realize that the MP5 is king and the only thing that comes even close in my personal experience are B&T subguns. The AP5 will have some variance in QC especially regarding magazine wobble but all the other people I know who shoot them never had that in and of itself cause an issue. They're extremely smooth shooting to the point you could hand it to pretty much anybody with the confidence that they'll have a blast. Apparently mine is magazine sensitive or doesn't like certain types of 115 grain because German mags cause mine to choke on occasion. Slap a low profile B&T mount, an AimPoint and a stock solid brace and you got yourself a winner.

i had to have lucked out with mine. it had like two or three light strikes and a round teleporting under the trigger pack during the first 200 shots but it's gone over a thousand since without any trouble. i went with the midwest extended rail and a holosun. the MP5 really is the king. it's an all time favorite that i wanted to get ever since i saw them in games/movies as a kid

I’ve been very underwhelmed with B&T. B&T is literally European Keltec.

I’ve had great luck with my CMMG radial delayed 9mm although I have a sample size of 1, and other people have had issues. I recently got the Broad River integrally suppressed barrel and really enjoy it. I have MP5SD shooting experience with AR ergos.

Aside from that there is a reason the MP5 is so well regarded.

They shoot ok I guess

Errbody can and should have them these days. $1,000 gets you a Saker + Stamp + flashhiding lense cap. Very easy goal to hit in a year or less for even a $45,000 a year wagie. $1,300 and you can get a Velos if flow-through is your jam.

I never said they weren’t legal. Normies aren’t gonna create NFA trusts and they’re not gonna drop a grand on a can when it’s a battle to keep them from buying garbage like Taurus and PSA.
