Claims he had to redesign the entire trigger pack and that it has a really nice trigger now.

ATF Letter where ATF announces their reversal of stance regarding the Antithesis
Something is occuring, at the time of writing all reference to the Antithesis has been scrubbed from Franklin Armory's website and all relevant YouTube videos have been privated. Their X posts announcing the Antithesis for sale and reposting a video by a third party YouTuber discussing it remain.

ATF Put out a series of posts on X that I interpret as saying "Franklin, stop your shit, 5.56 models aren't covered"

There are two possibilities here
1. ATF Are being Niggers and are going against what's laid out in the settlement (then again, they are almost assuredly aware of the full details of the DOJ Agreement)
2. Franklin were cocky retards who chose to play the "I'm not touching you game" even harder than they already are and extrapolated approval of their .45LC/.410 model to cover anything and everything despite having spent 8 years and $1M fighting a series of lawsuits. Then again, they're privy to the full details of the settlement agreement with DOJ and had 7 months to negotiate it, getting down to the nitty gritty details so I'd assume they'd do their due diligence and take any action with extreme confidence).

We are essentially watching two people play a board game that only they know the rules to due to the details of the settlement being private

So the question is, Who's violating the settlement? Will DOJxsutawney Bondi slap her shitty little miscreants down or will we have another 8 years of lawfare

it actually that much
Price tag for the launch model is $5200 but like the Alien did they're going to make a "Standard" model that I've heard but haven't confirmed will be $3400ish

I think it's some kind of DIY cradle or pintle mount interface that's supposed function as a nigger rigged QD mount. Like the kind that allows the squad gunner to secure his MG on a light vehicle during transit and then quickly take it with him once he dismounts. Seems like it would be useful in Ukraine given how often I've seen footage of people having to quickly egress unarmored vehicles after a drone or something. We have proper vehicle mounts but there's plenty of civilian vehicles in service that wouldn't have the proper hardware so my best guess is that its for a field fabricated mount. Lot easier to weld a tube with latches on it than making a mount with a tapered hole out in the field

Something is occuring,

"Franklin Armory, one of America’s leading manufacturers of innovative firearms and accessories, issued the following statement today regarding Franklin Armory’s Antithesis™ line of short-barreled firearms:

Last night, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) requested that we voluntarily bring back all 5.56 caliber Antithesis firearms in advance of the agency issuing a new classification. We were surprised by this in light of the U.S. District Court’s ruling in FRAC v. Bondi.

Out of an abundance of caution and for the well-being of consumers, dealers, and distributors, we are voluntarily requesting all of our customers to return their 5.56 caliber Antithesis firearms for a full refund.

We encourage customers who have taken possession of an Antithesis firearm to contact Franklin Armory Customer service for an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and shipping label. This return does not affect Reformation, the .410/45LC Antithesis, or any other firearm made by Franklin Armory.

As Facilitators of Freedom, we are actively raising our concerns with various entities within Congress and the Trump Administration. We are also hopeful that continued negotiations with ATF can arrive at a solution that avoids litigation if at all possible.

Be assured, this will not be the final chapter on Antithesis."

Based on how not mad Franklin sounds, ATF talking about classifications and a small subset of the February ruling I think this might be a case of procedural bullshit and the ATF being lazy retards

Judge ordered ATF do create a special new category for GCA Firearms like the Antithesis, it appears they haven't done so yet and are telling Franklin to slow down until they do, Problem is the deadline for ATF to create that categorization was last month. Will the fat retards at ATF spend the next decade slobbering over a single piece of paper or will Bondi slap down their bullshit? Find out next time on FranklinBall Z!

I note they state this as a request. Suppose the owners who lawfully purchased these items just tell them to go fuck themselves? Pretty obvious Franklin is not in a position to force purchasers to do anything and is making that clear with their blinking SOS in Morse Code here.

I wouldn't advise that, but that's because I can't give legal advice. It is, however, what I'd do under the circumstances.

The Guys at Open Source Defense (they write some decent substack articles on legal and political matters) are speculating that this is 5D chess by Franklin (but they nor anyone else know the details of the settlement between DOJ and Franklin)

"Best guess: this is Franklin Armory strategically embarrassing the ATF:
1. ATF issues a letter saying an Antithesis that fires .410 shotshells+.45 LC is not an SBR.
2. Franklin Armory takes that and runs with it, announces the Antithesis in 5.56 as a non-NFA firearm.
3. They knew the ATF wouldn't be happy, because agencies always keep determination letters very narrow.
4. Also the logic in the letter, if consistently applied (which is admittedly not the ATF's forte), would mean that no rifle that fires duplex ammo can be an SBR. And basically all rifles can fire duplex ammo.
5. So this Franklin Armory picking a fight with the ATF and forcing them to publicly defend a contorted pro-gun control reading of the law (18 U.S.C. § 921(a)(8)). In the current political environment, that is smart."

I'm looking to build some sort of gun wall in my basement. Right now all my guns are in bags and cases laying against the wall. Gonna frame up a quick wall and cover it in plywood. I want to get some sort of hooks for my guns. I see these online https://hammy3dprints.com/products/...un-holder-storage-rack?variant=44407909318870 and I like that but to be honest i'd rather buy a 3D printer and work out how to use it myself. I have some strange stuff that i'd want to design mounts for that I don't see anywhere to buy. But, before I get to design my own does anyone know where I can find files to print like in the link?

Do we have any 3D printer experts in here? Microcenter has the Creality Ender-3 V3, is that a decent printer?
Interesting. Yeah, I have the same problem and this is definitely an interesting solution.

Yeah, I've fucked around with 3d printing and doing my own modeling, although other people's advice is probably better informed.

This guy you're linking to says he's using PLA+. I'd be wanting to mount rifles and other long guns. Like his Mini-14 mount, I wonder if PLA+ is strong enough. Maybe if you get clever with the print settings and are careful not to drop the rifle into the mount or twist it or anything, but I'd be afraid of it snapping. I'd probably want to use something stronger.

I might mount some pegboard somewhere and start playing around with designing custom mounts.

i'll add to this; if you don't already have a preferred vendor for ammo i would recommend trueshotammo's hundred buck yearly membership for free shipping. it pays for itself pretty quick as anywhere i've checked will try to charge you like twenty bucks or more for ammo shipping.
If you don't want to pay for a yearly membership SGAmmo does free shipping on anything over $200. Their prices per round are usually a few cents higher than other places, but the absurd shipping charges a lot of websites hit you with make them the cheapest option a lot of times. Especially if you're buying in bulk.

I just bought some of these wooden ones:
I built a short shelf for it to sit on and store ammo below. not that expensive for what it is if you go for the bare pine option. I just left it without a finish since its indoors.

ah, SGAmmo, the premier fear monger in the industry. He single handedly started that panic over Biden ceasing Lake city civilian sales. as far as any one could tell he just made it up to boost his own sales. I blocked his newsletter. every week it was doom and gloom that rarely materialized.

In other news, I loaded a few dozen 330 grain .45 colt Black powder loads. I copied Elmer Kieth's old recipe as recorded in his book "sixguns". Now, when he did it his single action army exploded, but popular wisdom is that it was because of a case-head separation due to the poor quality .45 cases that were manufactured back in those days. And quite frankly, 19th century revolver steel is not as high quality as you'd want even from Colt (the early SAA's were made of iron even).

If you care to replicate it: a 300gr .452 cast bullet (mine are 330gr because hard cast) over 35 grains of 2FG or 3Fg black powder. runs at about 900FPS from my 5 1/2 inch barrel and hits with 593 foot-pounds of energy.

I shall post photos of the fireball tomorrow.

I remember talking to a Winchester sales rep when’s that happened. He had no idea where the rumor came from but was loving it as shit he couldn’t move for months suddenly flew off the shelves.

It was maddening. People were panicking and there was just no proof at all other than email chains and forum boomer posting.

I swear we'd be so much better off in this industry if boomers were banned from reading the news.

Apparently I was wrong regarding the status of the Franklin/DOJ Settlement, It's public

I read through all 11 relevant pages and saw nothing that I personally deem of any particular relevance, I saw no mention of any permissive attitude towards licensing agreements nor did I see any mention of any patent pending or granted

Here's a court listener link to a bunch more chock full of boring nerd shit

Let's take a break from Franklin Armory's Antithesis and talk about the Antithesis of what a good rifle is, the Sig Saar XM-7

It's been dropped from testing, not because The Army has seen the error of its ways and are discarding it, they have stopped testing (probably) because they don't want to open up further opportunity for official criticism while continuing with it's adoption

It would be infinitely funny to me if FA spent all this time and money just to fight for the right to sell what's essentially a fucking Taurus Judge AR.
