They did the same for Holland & Holland in London. and Benelli. And Franchi. And Tikkia. And Norma. And Uberti.
the list is a long one.
*Tikka, and that is actually a sub-brand of SAKO. Just nitpicking here, I don't mean to bust balls.

Like 10 years ago, Beretta offered the ARX-160 to the Finnish Defence Forces as a replacement for their assault rifles, and offered production at the SAKO factory in Finland. FDF did test them (to my knowledge), but declined. Probably were not too impressed, and money was very tight at the time. Instead they just decided to modernize our old AK-pattern rifles.

But it's obvious, that at the same time (or just a year or two later), Beretta had allowed Sako to start their development of their own assault rifle (basically a gas piston AR-15), that has now been adopted by Sweden, will be adopted by Finland, and is also competing for Project Grayburn of UK. They accepted that the ARX wasn't a hit, and were willing to allow their subsidiaries to develop other options. And it's now landing them at least two big military contracts. They have smart owners. Instead of H&K, who spend more time in the courts complaining about contractts they didn't win, to improve their great reputation.

I fucking hope that H&K is excluded from every FDF tender from now on, with how they delayed the new assault rifle program with over a year with a lost cause from the beginning.

M81 Woodland was peak American camouflage aesthetics, and having separate temperate patterns was the right play all along with its equally chad cousins 6 and 3 color Desert.

The biggest sin of Multicam is that it is as fugly as it is functional. If we're going back to one service uniform for all, may as well bring back solid OD, as that really does tend to work for everything,
OD chads stay winning.

GT has an example of what he refers to as the M7A1 and new shortened suppressor. Sig Saar sent him a unit to shill for it. $0 SBR Stamps might mean Sig Saar is going to be pushing more clone correct M7's.
He claims FPS is 2950fps at the muzzle from the shortened 11in barrel but doesn't state if this is from 120gr M1186 or what ever the 113gr copper rounds are called.

If The Army decides to adopt the M7A1
-They'll have created a slightly lighter bad rifle
-Troops will still carry less ammunition
-More recoil compared to 5.56.
-Shorter barrel with ammunition with same propellant load = more muzzle blast + shortened suppressor doing less to mitigate the blast = more blast over pressure and hmm it's not like there's data to suggest that too much blast overpressure from high pressure gunshots makes you retarded or anything
Hello Everyone, this isn't going to be a typical AGPinochet post because this one is special.

Now circling back to velocity numbers, the actual reduction in (already shaky) armor penetration capability is actually not all that significant because Matthew Moss says that M1186 out of the 13in goes about 3000fps (The Official army stats imply about 3200fps out the muzzle when fired from an suppressed M250).

Matthew Moss is reporting that Sig Saar Reps said with the 10.5 Barrel of the "M7 PIP" XM-1186 gets "2800-2900fps" at the muzzle, compared to 3000fps for a 13in model. This is interesting because if we refer to what I believe is the only hard, non word of mouth data we have regarding XM-1186 data the listed velocity is 3159fps at 78ft.

Nice, nice. Even if the A1 is better, it does nothing to solve the core issue of the platform, which is the ammunition capacity and recoil. Which one would you take on a trench raid to Ukraine:
- M16A1 with 30x9 magazines
- M7A1 with 20x6 magazines

It's literally half of the combat ammunition load for a soldier. Half of the effectiveness.

Shorter barrel with ammunition with same propellant load
RIP to all of you who have to use indoor ranges. I can only imagine how much that's going to rattle the teeth at a steel lined indoor range when some genius decides it needs a muzzle brake because they didn't want to do the legwork for a supressor.

What a madlad. I feel like he's spiritually related to the guy who looked at our cargo aircraft and went "that's cool, but have you tried sticking a 105mm out the side of it though?"

Hello I am the genius that will be dispensing micro-TBIs to the YOUTHS that frequent the indoor range near me.

Last time I went to an indoor range, the guy two bays over had what looked to be an 8 or 9" frankenrifle in .308 with a brake on it and I could still feel it from there. Definitely opened up my sinuses.

Im perfectly fine with anal range officers kicking fuckers with shorty rifles with breaks out of indoor ranges.

Wasn’t one of the primary goals of the NGWS program the ability to penetrate ceramic armor? That is a whole lot of nothing for a whole lot of added weight.

CZ is doing a better job running Colt than Colt ever did.

I have a 2007 Delta Elite that is still a basket case. I can't run real 10mm through it without bulging cases. It went back once, because it would bulge the cases of blazer aluminum which is absolutely the most dogshit 10mm load you can find out there, lmao.

It sits in my safe waiting for me to send it off to someone for a proper ramped barrel... or for me to sell it, either or.
The feelz, bro. I bought a Series 70 brand new from Colt in '05. I had to send 2 back to them before I got one that wasn't functionally and cosmetically dogshit. I mean you'd look at it and think there's no way in hell anyone with even a barely functioning nervous system would have given those pistols a green light to ship out. I was damn salty about that since I saved up for almost a year to get it.
I think everyone went back and forth about this before, but I think the general assessment was Colt's unsupported chamber.
Might you ever buy a Bar-Sto or a Kart barrel and get it fit to better resolve this issue?

I raccoon-fingered a CP1 in a gun shop back in '99. Interesting design aesthetic and the trigger wasn't bad at all. I wonder how well they might have done commercially if they were functional, reliable weapons.
Reminder to go mag dump into trash
You're supposed to be smoking a cigar and wearing shorts with a 5" inseam while you do that.

What do you guys think about magazine inventory for your firearms? My preference is at minimum 10 magazines per pistol, 10 per bolt rifle, and 25 per semi rifle. I'm also much more interested in repairing pistol magazines if at all possible before disposing of them. AR mags, especially 5.56, get tossed if I can't fix whatever issue they have inside of 30 seconds.

words of warning, an employee at my gunshop bought ~40 magpul mags that we suspect he got at the end of a molds life and none of them drop free from Lowers. Probably worth it to not buy all your mags at the same place/same time. Just like Hard drives.

but have "enough" they are technically use items, I think 100s is a little excessive but (since it's relevant now) they could get rid of the filibuster tomorrow and next time democrats are in charge they will ban pretty much anything you want. I don't endorse panic buying/fear mongering but it's better to have a few too many than not enough.

Also the TMAGs are cool AF.

Please tell me you’re gonna put a C note on top of it.
I don't think he makes it any more :(
It's going on my Bad att. NERV build.
