Hello everyone, there was a recent thread on the Forgotten Weapons subreddit concerning the BSDfFabworks VSS reproduction project. Some very interesting things occurred during it's course.

We had Ian himself acting hostile towards Brice of BSD

There's some guy in the thread who apparently does Airfsoft design and is contributing to the project in one way or another doing meth denialism

Apparently, the guy behind this is a (former, allegedly) pill and meth addict

Standard rifle length.308 buffer and spring
JP full mass bcg
i'm a big JP fan.

the full-mass AR-10 BCG requires either a hydraulic buffer, the heavy H2 captive buffer from JP, or any good quality "extra power" AR-10 rifle spring. it is not designed for the standard LR-308 style AR-10 spring or the carbine spring without parts swapping. it'll work and cycle et c, but it'll beat itself up over time.

https://s3802.americommerce.com/JPSCS-PACK10.aspx with JPSCS-SPRING10-105 or if needed the JPSCS-SPRING10-110 and your standard buffer

you can also use a normal recoil spring with the https://s3802.americommerce.com/JPSCS2-10H2.aspx.

your choice.

.22 anything is already peak gay

10/22 are bad guns until you replace most of the parts

LOL faggot. 10/22s are great guns for their intended purpose, which is cheap, reliable plinking fun. They are arguably the best all-around semi-auto .22 rifle ever made. Sure there are "finer" S/A .22 rifles, such as the Browning SA-22, that are prettier and have a nicer finish. I've never met anyone who bought a 10/22 and was unhappy with it or had reliability issues with it, aside from a couple of people who had them for literally decades with high round counts (like tens of thousands of rounds) and they needed new recoil springs or the barrel was shot out and needed to be replaced. And once the springs or barrel was replaced, it went right back to running like a champ. There's a reason they are the gold standard semi-auto .22 rifle and there is a huge aftermarket for them. "Bad guns" don't get that level of aftermarket attention.

Gas block journal is .875. Port is .094. No adjustable block.

Centurion.
Ask centurion what they recommend

Just because they are popular doesn’t make them good guns. There is a reason so many aftermarket companies exist to make them into something that isn’t garbage. To be fair most .22s are intended to be cheap farm tools and are completely gay other than dispatching varmints, or teaching children to shoot.

This is the answer I needed. I’ll pick up an SCS tomorrow.

I fucking love my 10-22. Cheap to shoot, fun for everyone due to the nonexistent recoil and how quiet it is, and I've had mine for 11 years and it still runs flawlessly despite all the beatings and cheap ammo its been fed. I don't understand the hate they receive. Am I going to pick up my 10-22 when I hear a bump at 2am? Fuck no. Am I grabbing my 10-22 when a bunch of people want to go to the range? Fuck yeah. Giant boxes of Federal .22 are cheap enough to plink all day.

You are a master rage baiter, and I love you for that.

I don't know anything about this project other than the fact that it has been vaporware status for years and BSD is pretty cringe/entertaining to watch on instagram because the guy is way up his own ass, and says and does stupid and cringe stuff.

Not liking the 10/22 is like not liking your dick sucked.

What kind of weird faggot are you that doesn't like a good sloppy toppy?

Yup. I've got plenty of home and personal defense weapons, so now I'm just focused on fun or interesting guns. When I was younger I was all about the bigger guns and didn't really want to shoot .22s because I thought they were boring. But now I absolutely love them, especially when you have them suppressed and have accessories/upgrades like binary triggers. When my oldest and I went shooting a couple weeks ago we took my Vector, my Franklin Armory F22, and a Browning Buckmark. We ended up shooting the F22 most because it was just so much fun probably the funnest gun I own now. I really want to get one of those 10/22 drums, like that 110rnd drum, and some tracers to shoot in binary mode. There are apparently incendiary .22 loads out there, which also sound like a ton of fun.

that 110rnd drum
How did I not know about this until now? I definitely need to pick one of these up. Looks like it's out of stock everywhere which is a shame, I was hoping someone could ship it before this weekend so I could take my brother and go let off 110 rounds of rapid succession fun.

Yeah, they're kind of a pain to find. ProMag makes a 70rnd drum, but are likewise out of stock. You'd think there would be more people out there making 10/22 drums.
