Its so absurd and weird how the IDF thought a suppressed 10/22 would make a good less than lethal riot control gun.
It actually makes perfect sense to kneecap them, it won't kill them and you can actually disable current/future (ie kids) enemy combatants by making them cripples for life.

From a purely utilitarian point of view it works well as a substitute for not being able to kill them, though maybe one day they'll figure out how to shoot syringes that immediately sterilizes whoever is injected by them, that'll fix the problem in the future.

I do still want a IDF riot control 10/22, Its so absurd and weird how the IDF thought a suppressed 10/22 would make a good less than lethal riot control gun.

it's actually a old strain of riot control that used to be a thing. in ye olden days (like 1960s and before) shooting rioters in the feet was a accepted tactic. the practitioners of this strat were usually issued shotguns loaded with bird shot and shoot the rioters in the feet. bird shot, unless fired from muzzle distance is rarely lethal. the pellets usually stop just beneath the skin. buck shot was also used by firing into the ground "skipping" the shot into the legs and feet of the targets.

It's not very deadly but it hurts and they're out of the fight.

as far as i could ever tell the IDF had the same idea - shooting rioters in the foot.

It worked against Tommy Tooter. He's still (unfortunately) alive, but it stopped him from digging through the shooters trashcan. Catching a .22 to the spleen is a pretty good deterrent to stop what you're currently doing.

Yup. I've got plenty of home and personal defense weapons, so now I'm just focused on fun or interesting guns. When I was younger I was all about the bigger guns and didn't really want to shoot .22s because I thought they were boring. But now I absolutely love them, especially when you have them suppressed and have accessories/upgrades like binary triggers. When my oldest and I went shooting a couple weeks ago we took my Vector, my Franklin Armory F22, and a Browning Buckmark. We ended up shooting the F22 most because it was just so much fun probably the funnest gun I own now. I really want to get one of those 10/22 drums, like that 110rnd drum, and some tracers to shoot in binary mode. There are apparently incendiary .22 loads out there, which also sound like a ton of fun.
The real fun is in slapping an optic with a +20MOA scope mount on a .22 and shooting at stuff way past sensible .22LR ranges. Eventually, I'll pick up a CZ457 to replace/supplant my B22 but for now that cheap Savage works

Hello everyone, there was a recent thread on the Forgotten Weapons subreddit concerning the BSDfFabworks VSS reproduction project. Some very interesting things occurred during it's course.

We had Ian himself acting hostile towards Brice of BSD

There's some guy in the thread who apparently does Airfsoft design and is contributing to the project in one way or another doing meth denialism

Look at the forged aluminum lowers he has to mill, anyone who buys this shit is brain dead. He does have steel lowers but no pictures, I bet they look just as bad.

Unrelated to the reply, I picked up my Century CA-3. Headspace measures 0.35mm so I'm good there. I shoot it on Thanksgiving.

So when he fucks up milling the blank he has room to fix it. Meth be making people shakey.
I hope Brandon Herrera buys one of these to show off in a similar manner to that fucked up Yugo he bought. They're going to be amazingly fucked up.

I'm not expert in metallurgy but those look like Billets and not forgings, is that what he called them?

Its just like folding paper, don't you get it?
I may be retarded but, is he cutting oversized lowers out of bar stock and then milling them down to size? Wouldn't it be fucking easier to start with smaller billets and then go from there? Just cut a fucking hunk off of the big bar stock with a bandsaw (or if you don't have a bandsaw, order smallish oversized chinks of aluminum based on the maximum dimensions of your lower plus 10%) and Then chuck it up the the mill and proceed from there? I've never machined anything in my life but I've watched a not insignificant amount of videos about machining and manufacturing and I also have common sense and an IQ greater than 85 and I have never not once seen anyone do this. He is taking a really big piece of metal, using a milling machine as a cookie cutter and then milling down the oversized workpieces into a final finished receiver which includes milling out the interior portions and not just the exterior shaping). Not only could he cut costs on materials and machine time he could also get more receivers per unit of bar stock depending on sizing possibly! This retarded latinx methhead is literally going about this in the most retarded way possible isn't he? There has to be some kind of Level 30 Arch Machinist secret lore reason for this, he can't be making things so needlessly hard on himself can he?

I don't have any historical data on the costs and time associated with the milling of historic miles receiver firearms but this thing has to be fucking up there, and he has non industrial machines and no bulk orders for materials. This might be an actually $300 receiver. No wonder this thing costs $7000

I knew these guns were never getting built but fuck me, they really are never getting fucking built. And I guarantee that if this latinx tweaker manages to being even one example to market it will perform just like the Tommybuilt T7

He is waterjetting the shape out, milling via 4th axis. Also you are prob correct in billet, heres a comment chain that is a fun read

"The guys who will be doing the "mass production" will handle all that".

Dude, the mass producers are going to fucking mass produce so much out of spec shit that if it even GETS to that point it will be a nightmare and probably bankruptcy. Does he think he can just transfer his CAD drawings and machine code and have it work out of the gate with said mass producers? I hope he gets to that point because it will be the funniest fucking thing I've ever seen.

If there were ever to be a person In the manufacturing side of the Firearms Industry besides Jesse James to have a thread here it would be Brice.

Tolerance stacking? I thought we can just put all the oversized parts in one bin and use them to make slightly larger guns.

Russian stapler-based homemade revolving shotgun.
That is some Bubba engineering. I like it.

.22 still is lethal, but if you're shooting someone for riot duty and only want them disabled, it's far better than 9mm or 5.56 at it. At least with 22, you can lay down a lot of lead quickly
