For the heck of it I submitted a form 1 to MG an $18 Anderson lower just in the off chance it gets approved in the chaos. Worst case I get a denial email and my $200 back.
a guy has done this before and gotten an approval btw, the ATF gets pretty upset (because the guy who approved it can get in a fuck ton of trouble too lol)

There is a new Belt fed upper offering on the American Market. The Turkish System Defence MFR-56. Essentially an MCR Clone with QCB for $4200 an upper while a fixed barrel Fightlite DFX is $4000 for an upper. People have been trying to import these for a little while, years IIRC. Military models have been officially adopted by Jordanians and Flips but they've also shown up in Sudan. This is essentially another nail in Fighflite's coffin after Lima Six put a stake through their heart price and reliability wise. Wonder if the MFR will have all the problems the MCR has, might not judging by the military adoption.

This one is in PSR's possession

So going off the top of my head the pricing tier for belt fed AR Uppers is now
-Lima Six Build Kit -$2k
-Lima Six Complete upper - $3k
-Fighflite DFX - $4k
-MFR-56 -$4.2K
-RRH Recce RPD (Tuned up Lima Six) - $4-5k
-Fightlite MCR -6.3-7k.

FRT's could really be bringing along a revolution in belt fed ownership.

I don't know what is it turks and these ludicrously chonky rifles. At a distance that gun looks like it shoots .223 at least.
My 5.56 Ruger American Ranch looks daintier than that if the mag isn't inserted, lol. I can't imagine buying that when 10/22s are so cheap.

Even incomplete data is better than zero data. Literally the only youtuber I have seen that calibrated their gel was tnoutdoors9, and he doesn't even do gel videos anymore. To me, this comes off like dismissing the Paul Harrel meat target because it's "just a bag of his wife's groceries". Personally, I find these sorts of tests very illuminating, and much better than the alternative of "absolutely nothing".
I actually think Paul's Meat Target is more applicable to testing your carry ammo at home than non-calibrated gel. The water jug test for penetration/expansion (with pistols) is also very reliable, and was developed along side gel as an alternative. See dick Fairbairns video for the math formulas on the water jug test.

I have an old Remington 511 .22 from the 40s that has full size rifle stock dimensions. it's quite comfortable. I prefer it over my 10/22's black plastic stock.

from what I've read their SKS and milled AKs are quite good but have no chrome lined barrels which is retarded
i've read the same too. when i was looking at said brand new m57 at a gun store, its slide release was impossible to press down with the magazine in and had bent the slide release cutout because the steel was so soft. soft steel was what makes my yugo-made m88 such a dogshit firearm because the slide lugs are damaged. I'm looking at this absolute stinker of a gun straight from the factory and the guy behind the counter gives me the "m70 milled aks are the best" spiel while i'm looking at a factory new $400 gun with worse quality than the desperate wartime surplus from the yugoslav wars. Maybe their pistol factory is just extra shit but i've already learned my lesson with zastava.

At the end of the week they're gonna wish the NFA was abolished.
Those fuckers are gonna need fingertip implants.
They're federal employees, you give them far far too much credit. They'll do what every other fed does, go to lunch early and clock out early.

and my $200 back.
kek.

Propritary receiver, barrel, furniture, and a few other important things which ensures that every accessory purchase you make for that thing will either be a guessing game or a witch hunt to see if that particular part will work on your rifle. Yugos are trash, the fact you'll likely be shooting dirty surpluls or (insert animal) brand of ammo also means those barrels need to be cleaned and lubed after every range trip.

Zastava absolutely chrome lines their barrels on new production AK variant rifles. If you mean old yugo era milsurp, then no, I don't think they did it back then; my buddy has a Yugo SKS from the 70s and it isn't chrome lined.

See above. I haven't held their handgun, but new production Zastava AKs are the best bang for your buck on the American market right now, hands down, even if a lot of boomers remember when you could get an AK for 100 bucks. You can either spend double on an Arsenal, or you can save a couple hundred bucks and get a WASR that actually is pretty bad.

the fact you'll likely be shooting dirty surpluls or (insert animal) brand of ammo also means those barrels need to be cleaned and lubed after every range trip.
What in the world are you talking about? I shoot (insert animal) brand and absolutely do not need to clean and lube the barrel after every range trip.

If you mean old yugo era milsurp
yea thats what i meant zastava doesnt make milled AKs anymore so your only option to get a milled yugo is to buy a parts kit and put a chrome lined barrel on yourself, which would either be a hard ass reweld or an expensive new reciever

for SKS i think you can change the barrels but I have no idea and it would probably be a waste of time

the new yugos are fine compared to other stamped AKs but if you want milled the options are kinda rough & expensive but if you want an SKS the 500$ chinese one that was in someone's dead uncle's closet since the 90s is a perfectly good option
