.32 is a better pocket caliber. easier to master. .380 is just 9mm light, underwhelming compared to what its bigger brother is.Thinking of getting a PPK in either 380 or 32acp, thoughts?
Why a PPK specifically? Unless it's an original and for collecting purposes they're notoriously not great.Thinking of getting a PPK in either 380 or 32acp, thoughts?

Many years ago I was at my LGS and when I remarked the WASR-10 I was handling had canted sights, the guy behind the counter said "yeah, all AKs are like that." Of course now I own a SAR-1 and I know that to not be the case.My Arsenal and Saiga both had canted sights, and the finish on both were laughably bad, the Saiga even had a fucked up rivet IIRC. QC is non-existent even for the "high tier" AK's unless you go with semi-custom builders like RD or Krebs.
That's a very marketing-y way to say they're replacing old tooling. Can't wait for boomers to take note and start jacking prices.Might be waiting a bit if you don't hurry up.
Trust me, those had canted sights too, CAI imported all the SAR's and I'm sure you already know about their reputation. It's literally part of the TDP to have a certain amount of cant, your rifle was just assembled by somebody slightly more sober.I own a SAR-1
Hmm I'll think about itI've used WBP parts for a few of my builds. I like them but I don't think nicer wood and a black oxide finish is worth more than a WASR, especially when the 5.56 Jacks don't have chrome lined barrels. WASR's often go on sale for even less too. Puritans will sperg about certain WBP geometry not being true AKM spec but its really not noticeable for the consumer outside of the 5.56 models so you can largely ignore that. Some people claim to have accuracy and durability issues with the 5.56 WBP. Personally I haven't experienced it but its out there if you want to look at it.
This is a botched AMD-65 that I converted to 5.56 using WBP parts (WIP) . Their virgin parts are nicer to install than any milsurp

.32 110%Thinking of getting a PPK in either 380 or 32acp, thoughts?
Ffffuuuuuukkkkkk I better get my .32 PPK NOWMight be waiting a bit if you don't hurry up.
The AK is.
I have a .308 Galil and a .223 Saiga. The only AKs worth having are the Galils, Valmets, and SIG 550 series (if they're actually Swiss made) and I will die on this hill.
Long stroke piston is an evolutionary dead-end unless you live in the arctic. The only AKs worth having are the Galils, Valmets, and SIG 550 series (if they're actually Swiss made) and I will die on this hill.
Every day there isn't a SS for this I cry and piss and shit my pants a little
You shut your HOOWAH MOUTH long stroke > short strokeLong stroke piston is an evolutionary dead-end unless you live in the arctic.
What about the Stenzel SAK-21?Stay away from RD and Krebs.
I suppose it could but that's... I don't even know... naive? Wildly optimistic? Not a good idea, I'd say.Movies made the Model 29 out to serve the role of a primary arm.
No, just attempted to see how secure its lockup was at rest. I'll test it the way you told me about later today. Is it only when the gun is at rest, or have you checked properly by holding the trigger to the rear and trying to rotate the cylinder?
I would suggest you skip it (unless you're like me and have more money than sense). I got some trigger time with a .380 version once and I did not like it. Not only did I dislike the lack of controls on it, that fucker hammer bites like a dickhead and it has sharp edges on it. All that for what I think is a damn inflated price.Thinking of getting a PPK in either 380 or 32acp, thoughts?
Except for how nuh uh!Long stroke piston is an evolutionary dead-end unless you live in the arctic.
No uYou shut your HOOWAH MOUTH long stroke > short stroke
I refuse to buy the 3D printed zip gun.View attachment 8378714
Czech-made Pistollo 77 9mm
apparently 2k are on there way to the american market this year
looks like it will be 3-4k (DOA if you ask me)
I think it runs into the same issue that Faxon ARAK, M10X and JAKL run into which is you're spending as much as 4k for something that might be okay when there's a $800 alternative with a 30 year track record (WASR). If you really, really want a "modernized" AK with military pedigree there's the Galil ACE. The SAK-21 might be a perfectly serviceable rifle that makes meaningful changes but I can't recommend it when I can dress up a WASR to achieve 80% (at a much lower price point) of what the $4,000 SAK does. Take your WASR, install an adjustable gas block and monolithic chassis system like the sure shot and you've accomplished most of what the SAK does at less than half SAK MSRP and a little inconvenience. What about the Stenzel SAK-21?

I actually like my M10X, but it helps that I got it for a (relative) song. Runs like a top and haven't had any issues with it yet, though it's only had a couple thousand rounds through it. Also maybe the only rifle that the Magpul Zhukov stock looks good on.I think it runs into the same issue that Faxon ARAK, M10X and JAKL run into which is you're spending as much as 4k for something that might be okay when there's a $800 alternative with a 30 year track record (WASR).
