they have a better reputation because they are cheap. The one's I've seen are markedly poorer in fit and finish and rattle more than they should.

Turkshit can be good, but the good turkshit costs as much as good non-turkshit.
And Springfield's mid-tier 1911s have a meh reputation because they're not any better than $400 turkish ones. Colt has terrible customer service.

What US company even makes a good mid-range 1911 for under nine hundred or so? The 1911 market, I reckon because of the rest of the economy, has gone completely insane. I feel like current mid-range prices are what semi-customs used to cost ten or fifteen years ago.

I mean, that is their slogan, so the fact that they have shitty triggers is kinda ironic. There are plenty of other double-action striker fired autos available with MUCH better trigger stock than GLOCKs have. Just another reason I really don't like GLOCKs and will likely never own one again.
They're basically the platonic ideal of "service pistol." If one treats them as such they're likely better off.
I doubt a guy is going to take +15 damage from a Staccato versus a Glock, when you get right down to it.
No, but it may add insult to injury to get yeeted by a gun with a massively faggot-y fanbase.
Which other ones have “much better triggers?” The only one that was noticeable to me was the Walther with the performance trigger.
The M&P 2.0, the CZ P-10, the Walther PDP.
Get an SP2022.
Be aware they added a fucking lame LCI lever to the slide.
I didn't even know these existed. Do they still make them new? If not I'm not risking a Sig.
I think they do. They're not hard to find.
and a Seekins Hit Pro M3
In 6.5 PRC?
What did Gaston Glock think about all the hood rats putting auto sears (switches) on the back of his handguns?
He was much more preoccupied with horse cum.
What brand of Hi Power is the best?
Get a CZ 75.

you probably could (economics wise) make a good US made 1911 but the things are as mentioned mid ones are just as good as turk/philpines clones. They sell Made in US and mark up for that, they apply to spenders like say Golf it's gotta be better its 900+. Lastly it's a boomers gun and they have disposable income so why the fuck not charge more?

If tomorrow you had a full machine shop and all that making a nice US 1911 for 600 for example, I don't know how well it would sell.

Oh yea, been a min since I've been here so I am starting a 300 blackout pistol for my work bag. I don't plan on supressing it because size. h3 buffer seems like the right deal? Any suggestions on BCG just basic bitch be ok or too bitey?

Also I'm VERY tempted to get a custom mag that has Kanye's picture on it because he loves BLACKED.

shot with the silencer over the weekend and boy howdy is it great. having it on the RXM might be the most fun gun to shoot. i'm getting a lot better with pistols and the can feels like it's making it easier. i've actually become a little bored with the MP5 so i've put my old 3x prism on to spice it up a little.

They are nearly indistinguishable when actually firing.
Never shot a PDP, so I can't speak to that one, but the M&P and P-10 are both noticeably better to shoot for me. Wondernines are really a game of finding what fits your personal anatomical idiosyncrasies best, but Glock triggers feel like they were designed by a very competent firearms engineer who had never actually fired a gun before.

I've been a long time supporter of saying there's no "best" esp as I agree we have so many great options for wonder nines, but pardon the expression, gun to my head if you have to get one get a glock 19. Trigger is an easy fix and if you are getting a gun to get a gun... you won't even know/care.

If you want a gun to shoot or get into guns or already a gun person, go try them all. You won't be let down but find what you like best for what ever little reason and that's A okay.

You shoot 147s or just standard weight?

Not sure if it was the specific ammo but it was unpleasant shooting standard ammo out of my obsidian 9, was getting some kind of powder residue blowback and somehow had a end cap strike, have just shot lawman 147s ever since, much better and quiter

if you have to get one get a glock 19
I don't disagree with this. It's the safe default option. I just happen to think most people would be better served by one of the other wondernines, but figuring out which is an arduous, and possibly expensive, process. It's not really worth it for most people, so the option that's good enough for most people is a decent catchall.

P10, VP9, M&P, PDP, etc are all interchangeable. The only real difference is how you feel about them. Put any in my hand it won’t affect my performance.

Many people are just gonna swap the trigger anyway.

My first 1911 was a Colt Competition Stainless. The finish was absolute dogshit but it performed flawlessly - zero jams ever. But yeah, for over 900 the finish was ugly as shit and inexcusable.

I've not had any issues form CZ Colts. Good finishes, good triggers. DOGSHIT rear sights on the revolvers.

I went shooting today since it was a tropical 30 degrees with a 10 degree wind chill, it'll be the last time to go since We're going to have 2 feet of snow fall Friday-Saturday . turns out .30-06 and 1/4in plates at 100 yards don't mix well...

oof. Well, the damage is done so I'll just continue shooting it until it dies.

Not uh!
In 6.5 CM because I'm not that autistic
Goddamnit! You niggas making me be the only sped here running 6.5 CM Magnum?

Well yes but no.

My first 1911 was a 2007 Colt Series 70. I had to send it back to Colt 3 different times so I ended up with 2 different pistols from the original.

It still looked like parts of the pistol I kept had been machined by someone afflicted with permanent fish-eye vision. And I paid almost $800 for that fucking thing. In 2007.

Fuck Colt.

they are now. they had extraction issues early on as i recall.
Good to know
Tisas 1911s have a better reputation than more expensive ones from makers like springfield and colt. If their Hi power is as good as their 1911s it's probably worth owning. Personally I'd go for a classic T or C series for the look, but if it's going to get a lot of use the Mark IIIs aren't as picky about ammo and will likely last but if you're going to buy a late gun you may as well buy a reproduction for less money if they are any good (I don't know).
Springfield 1911s start life as blanks from Brazil
Oh my.... A blowback .380 with a polymer frame

Ouch

Springfield, the Garrison and Ronin series are under $900 all day

Now for PSA and SHOT show posting

Jakl 2.0 is DEAD, all hail ACX... A very familiar looking short stroke modular rifle that has a STRIKING similarity to the ACR

That and the ACX lineup also includes a shotgun and pistols and the pistols have .... A modular fire control group.... Just like a SIG P320 and Ruger RXM

The ACX fcg can fit into grips that take Glock mags and a grip that takes.... Sig P320 mags.... Fascinating

Thank GOD I sold my Dagger last week hehehe

Fuck Colt.

I had a stack of Wilson Combat 47DB magazines I had purchased before the gun had even shipped. Cleaned her, lubed her rails with some red lithium grease and blasted about 400rds of 230gr hard ball and 120 of Federal HST. Not one issue. She was a great gun but looked worse than some Taurus 1911's I've seen. Put up with it because it was my CCW at the time and viewed her as a workhorse.

i had a box of federal subsonics, which were the most pleasant, and the rest were 115gr blazers. it did spit some foulness my way with normal ammo to the point that it clouded up the holosun on my pistol but that was something i figured would happen. i've got a ton of 147gr PMC's on the way and that will be the real test.

I finally started CCWing a hammer fired pistol thanks to the platypus this year. As much as I could complain about not have the premium of a steel frame 2011; the weight really makes it a great compromise for me.
