Tangentially related to guns but I've got an extra thousand bucks lying around and I'm sure living in the middle of bumfuck nowhere in a small town I'll never need it, but do you guys have any recommendations for plates/plate carriers? Was also looking at a concealable one but those seem to only be Level 2 at the most. Mainly concerned about it being stab resistant.

Also, shout out to the real ones that recommended me a good starting rifle last summer - I've had so much fun with my 10/22 that I've expanded my range toys significantly and picked up an AR, shotgun, and a dumb fun colt 45 Henry Repeating Rifle. Been having so much fun going to the range over the last few months but holy fuck this hobby gets expensive quick.
Yep guns have a funny habit of multiplying
Stab resistance and bullet resistance are two different things. If you're going to get stabbed, chainmail is the way to go because kevlar does nothing to stop knives and ceramic rifle plates don't cover the arteries that are so vulnerable to knife attacks.

Steel rifle plates will get you killed in da streets a multitude of spall injuries and are heavy as heck anyway, do not buy them.
I think here are combination vests that are level 2 to 3A ballistic protection with a anti stab layer integrated on top.

Or you could get the best lvl 2 or 3A soft armor and put a stab vest over or under it
I feel like a kid finding out santa claus isn't real. So basically at best the lighter, concealable stuff is just to "maybe" stop lower caliber rounds?
I think there is legit conceal able or semi concealed level 3A soft which stops .357 and 00 buckshot and some shotgun slugs.

Your average banger is carrying a 9mm/.380/.38 / .357

If they have a rifle it'll be an AR or AK (Draco is super common)
It's loud. It's busy. It's got shit all over it. front serrations which no one ever uses. Plastic sights, Which on the gen 1/2 was sorta cool as a cost saving and futuristic thing but now its gen 6 and 2026 and just wtf are you doing ghost of gaston? only thing this piece of shit is missing is speed holes in the slide for no reason to be a 100% hype beast race gun. It's fat and ugly and I would not have sex with it
😶‍🌫️ The grip texture is very good and the front serrations are useful
It's sleek, utilitarian. Brutalism in gun form. Function and form combined into one aesthetic. I actually quite like it and would buy one for a good price. It was cool to see Mulder with it in season 1 X-files when all the other cops and characters had S&W gen3s, S&W and Colt revolvers or PPKs.
Ehh the improvements are there vs the Gen 1

Mmmmmmm nice 🙂 I'm rock hard rn

But why?

A fun little thing, but Ryobi? Seriously?
Someone has to represent the puke green amongst a sea of Milwaukee themed gun builds.

Also my brother got me a set of ryobi tools as a housewarming gift so I have a degree of sentimental loyalty to the brand.

I am well aware there are superior tool brands, but Ryobi is perfectly fine for homeowner level tools and I will die on that hill.

If you plan on building a barn with them, good luck, but theyll get any 'around the house' kind of job done just fine.

NGL DeWalt, Ryobi, and Milwaukee are all functionally equivalent, you can even buy battery adapters although one brand has "dumb" batteries so the tools are a lot more amenable to taking off brand batteries.

Edit: I forgot about Makita. Fwiw Milwaukee and Ryobi are under the same Hong Kong based corporate parent, TTI.

Hell most electric hand tools in their price category are all made in the exact same factories in China/East Asia....

Oh and back to guns, I'm on THE LIST (TM) at my local gun store for a 617 Mountain gun and a Seekins Hit Pro M3 🙂

The other things that Ryobi has going for it are a vast catalog of tools that take their batteries and a very competitive price point. I bought into team red a long time ago, but Ryobi makes a ton of sense in a home gamer setting.

What did Gaston Glock think about all the hood rats putting auto sears (switches) on the back of his handguns?
Austro-German culture would likely take a similar take to Jesse Owens. Amazed and horrified by their ability to go too fast for their own bloodlines' good. A self-solving problem or an acceptable wrong answer.

Makita makes a microwave. All other power tools forever BTFO.

Tisas 1911s have a better reputation than more expensive ones from makers like springfield and colt. If their Hi power is as good as their 1911s it's probably worth owning. Personally I'd go for a classic T or C series for the look, but if it's going to get a lot of use the Mark IIIs aren't as picky about ammo and will likely last but if you're going to buy a late gun you may as well buy a reproduction for less money if they are any good (I don't know).

they have a better reputation because they are cheap. The one's I've seen are markedly poorer in fit and finish and rattle more than they should.

Turkshit can be good, but the good turkshit costs as much as good non-turkshit.

can milkwaukeecels make coffee with their brand? yeah I thought not
This is unironically a better ad for Makita than anything else. There are SO MANY job sites that these two would have made a world of difference on... $1000 sounds expensive for a mobile microwave, but for about two years of work, I would have been using that thing twice daily.

They also have an electric kettle... I think I just found my next few big purchases.
