I hate Aimpoint more than I hate HK. P-2s aren't supposed to die due to 9mm recoil.

I've seen people add heat shields inside the normal handguards, like this: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=113569.0Yeah I was kinda disappointed by that. I'll be swapping it out for a wood set that will hopefully be a better insulator. One of the things that surprised me about the VZ58 is that the gas tube is open on the bottom so the gas just vents directly into the handguard instead of the receiver or through holes at the front of the tube like on an AKM. I'd imagine that's probably the culprit
What in the Kentucky fried fuck is a "beaver barf handguard"? Is that some sort of Bakelite-esque monstrosity?I've seen people add heat shields inside the normal handguards, like this: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=113569.0
Haven't tried it myself, but seems to be effective. Also, I doubt the open gas tube is the reason for this. Remember, the piston only moves back an inch or so, I think it doesn't even fully get out of the gas block. It's probably more because the barrel is quite thin, so it gets hot quickly (and the handguard doesn't do much for insulation).
Not quite, it's some sort of resin-impregnated woodchip stuff. Holds up surprisingly well, given how weird it looks. What in the Kentucky fried fuck is a "beaver barf handguard"? Is that some sort of Bakelite-esque monstrosity?
An old Mossberg 930 before they had the round charging handle and with a long toob on it.what gun is this https://x.com/mylocalgunshop/status/2013259842417242137?s=20 I need a gun
As someone who owns both a P10 and a VP9 the are not interchangeable. The P10 has a fantastic trigger with an extreme short trigger reset distance. The VP9 has an alright trigger but can’t win over the P10.
I've had the pleasure of shooting a P-10C (still own it) and the displeasure of shooting a VP9 (shot a friend's, only took me two magazines to decide I hated it).
This is why I say it’s how you feel about the gun. Many people will disagree and say the VP9 has the bestest trigger and bestest ergonomics. It’s all just princess and the pea nonsense. The thing that really sent me for a loop about the VP9 was the ergonomics. It's one of the most unintelligent, flimsy, poorly-executed grips I've ever seen in a handgun, almost beating out the Gen 4 Glock 19 I used to own in terms of pure suckass.
That sounds like a you problem. The VP9 opened my groups up so wide, I thought it was taking an Andy Ditch-style shit.
The P1 and the P2 are both not good. I got to experience 2 week battery life with the P1 and a P2 physically breaking and hitting me in the face while shooting.I hate Aimpoint more than I hate HK. P-2s aren't supposed to die due to 9mm recoil.![]()
I shoot good groups with handguns, the VP9 is just shit. That sounds like a you problem.
Blaming the gun for bad groups is some serious cope.I shoot good groups with handguns, the VP9 is just shit.
My friend shot it from the bench on bags after I was done with it. Same thing.Blaming the gun for bad groups is some serious cope.
In that case, it has to be a defect with the gun. It should hold 2.5 inch groups at 25 yards. My friend shot it from the bench on bags after I was done with it. Same thing.
My experience with their customer support has always been positive.I'm on hold with Aimpoint support rn.
3.5 inch has been the average ballpark I've seen with 124gr ammo. His VP9 was throwing match-grade 124gr at 5 inches, 25 yards and American Eagle 124gr at 8 inches, 25 yards. That was from the bag, it was worse offhand. In that case, it has to be a defect with the gun. It should hold 2.5 inch groups at 25 yards.
I'm getting a refund, yanking my EPS off my M&P Compact, and throwing it on my M1X. I need to standardize my primary carry on one gun anyway and I love my M1XMy experience with their customer support has always been positive.
I got rid of my ACROs. The market for enclosed emitter pistol optics kinda sucks.3.5 inch has been the average ballpark I've seen with 124gr ammo. I have to buy a new slide though, at least I'll have a lot left over afterwards
I don't hate my VP9 but it's an uphill battle with it. Ergowise, I think it's fine, it favors larger hands though, even swapping out the grips for slimmer. It budges out a bit where the slide and frame meet to add width. HK claims its only 1.32" wide and in comparison to the P-10C which is 1.3", I feel like it's wider. The bore axis height is certainly taller but any striker fired pistol not named Glock has that issue, though the P-10 is slightly shorter. The stock irons are great and I think are better than the P-10C non-optics ready slides. Doesn't matter though since I swapped them out for the suppressor height so I could have a cowitness with my RMR. VP9 magazines seem to be better and hold more.I've had the pleasure of shooting a P-10C (still own it) and the displeasure of shooting a VP9 (shot a friend's, only took me two magazines to decide I hated it).
The P-10C has the best trigger I've ever experienced in a handgun under $400: as you said, it has a super short trigger reset distance and the takeup is smooth and consistent. The VP9, by comparison, was absolute dogshit: very tough break with slop, anything 6 pounds or over for a semi-auto is almost intolerable to me.
The thing that really sent me for a loop about the VP9 was the ergonomics. It's one of the most unintelligent, flimsy, poorly-executed grips I've ever seen in a handgun, almost beating out the Gen 4 Glock 19 I used to own in terms of pure suckass. I have, among other things, an XD Mod.3 that aims for the same rough concept in terms of grip that the VP9 does, and yet it does it far better. The VP9 opened my groups up so wide, I thought it was taking an Andy Ditch-style shit.
As someone that has carried budget-style guns in the past and currently carries borderline-Gucci shit, I can tell you the CZ P-10 platform is a great choice for CCW on a budget.
Trigger reset distance isn't based on feels, its a quantifiable metric. I think people just let brand bias to say a trigger is bad or not like Larry Vickers when he reviewed the P-10C and said it was shit and he uses a VP9.This is why I say it’s how you feel about the gun. Many people will disagree and say the VP9 has the bestest trigger and bestest ergonomics. It’s all just princess and the pea nonsense.

Something we can agree on. I think the demand for enclosed emitters comes from SHTF types like Brassfacts and you don't really need one for a carry weapon. For some reason Aimpoint ACROs are hard to find right now.I got rid of my ACROs. The market for enclosed emitter pistol optics kinda sucks.
But it doesn’t actually matter unless it’s egregiously long.Trigger reset distance isn't based on feels, its a quantifiable metric.
Holosun EPS or EPS Carry is the way to go. I like to slap the full-size EPS on my bigger guns. It's a phenomenal optic and has way more value than anything Aimpoint or Trijicon is putting out, even now.I got rid of my ACROs. The market for enclosed emitter pistol optics kinda sucks.
I am a giant CZ fanboy and I love my P-10C but objectively the trigger is merely alright. In the context of affordable pistols it is quite good. It puts stock Glock triggers to shame (idk about their performance trigger). The P-10C has the best trigger I've ever experienced in a handgun under $400

Iyou don't really need one for a carry weapon
This. I was rocking a 407K at one point on my carry gun and decided that open emitters sucked because lint and dead skin would obstruct the emitter and cause severe issues. Haven't had that issue with my EPS, my 509T or my (dead) ACRO P-2.Ineedwant one because carrying an open emitter every day accumulates all sorts of shirt fuzz and assorted bullshit and its getting to be a real chore to clean it regularly. I would still have to clean a closed one but at least the glass would be more accessible.
It's somewhat better than the GPT.I am a giant CZ fanboy and I love my P-10C but objectively the trigger is merely alright. In the context of affordable pistols it is quite good. It puts stock Glock triggers to shame (idk about their performance trigger).
The PDP has a better trigger to me but only by a little bit. Like I said, the P-10C has an amazing trigger that's hard to beat, even by pistols way above it in terms of price.Walther's performance trigger has a properly Gucci feeling to it. None of that nasty crunchy takeup and a short reset. Really excellent, but then again you're paying over 2x the P10C so it better feel good.
I like the Aimpoint COA but they are hard to get now. I literally bought Glocks to have the optic, and then they all got allocated to mil/LE until the back orders can be satisfied. At least my guns have gone up in value for once.Holosun EPS or EPS Carry is the way to go. I like to slap the full-size EPS on my bigger guns.
