Looks like PSA is trying to make something Flux Raider-y. I don't know if their normal glock clones are modular but they made an RXM grip module compatible FCG, so maybe the RXM FCG will be compatible with these chassis since Flux is taking their sweet time with their RXM chassis. They decided to go with this rather than the X9 they were working on

https://youtube.com/watch?v=E3ULmhiW1WEAXR PDW info starts at 7:40, no prices on anything in the video. Basically a new line of all-modular stuff, this was the only thing that really caught my eye
Does anyone make something like this but instead of attaching it to your gun you just drop a slide into it?

https://youtube.com/watch?v=rZeRRjdwygAS&W and lipseys are ressurrecting the night guard line of revolvers (no-lock). these are scandium framed with steel cylinders, primarily for carry and duty service. the m/396 is a .44 special and the 386 is a 7-shot .357 magnum.

I'm tempted but I'd rather have the 325 .45 ACP that was in the original run 15 years ago. alas, i was only 12 at the time and couldn't get one.
my aluminum framed taurus 731 is only 16 ounces, so why are these 24 ounces? i don't think an inch of barrel weighs half a pound.

e:they're L frames not J frames.

yeah, IMBEL cut their contract and Springfield had to find other sources. The IMBEL frames were good. even with the foreign frames the rest was all american.

Colt is releasing blued steel Anaconda's in .44 in 4in, 6in and 8in SKUs, Blued Cobra's and more optics ready 1911s.

I'm definitely a buyer for a 4in royal blue anaconda.

Interesting. Man the comments on they YouTube video are fucking NAUSEATING.....

Yes S&W has QC issues.... Every fucking revolver maker on Earth has them. Use the goddamn warranty.

That's what these are, you buy the modular grip and rails/shrouds of your choosing and drop your FCG (trigger, striker, some other fiddly bits. As far as the ATF is concerned this is the actual 'gun' and has the serial etc engraved on it), barrel, and slide onto the new grip. PSA might sell these stand-alone since they're a firearm manufacturer already but they might just want you to buy one of their glock clones first to harvest the FCG from.

The Flux Raiders are probably the most famous. The Raider 320 takes a Sig P320 FCG and slide, Raider 365 takes a P365 FCG. The 365 seems to be fine so far but a lot of people, myself included, really don't like the P320 what with the multiple on-camera uncommanded discharges and all

Any good pistols for a first time owner who wants to get a CCW license?
If you're alright with the size the Ruger RXM is what I've been recommending people. They're like $350 at big-box gun stores, probably cheaper at smaller shops, and pretty solid. Kinda ugly but you can dye the supplied grip or buy one in a new color/size from Magpul. I saw someone dye the standard grip with, I think, wool dye and I couldn't believe how good it turned out. Some kind of fabric dye you could pick up at walmart or hobby lobby, nothing exotic

If you want something smaller the Sig P365 seems to be fine but I'm still a bit sketched out by anything Sig even if the 365 hasn't had any problems that I'm aware of outside of the trigger spring wearing out pretty quickly relative to comparable pistols. My personal carry gun is a Taurus GX-4 TORO. There's a GX-4 Carry now which has room for a light/laser if that's something you might want. Mine has been reliable. Those are the only two micro-compact pistols I've shot and they're both fine. Neither company has a super great rep but I do think the GX4 series is Taurus trying to turn its image around because everything around them has been pretty positive, including my own experience

I always suggest seeing if you can go to a local range that offers rentals, especially if you have limited experience with firearms.
It can be good to try out some different guns before you buy, and if you are going to be getting a ccw they might be one of the places offering classes anyway.

Glock 19 or 17 is the basic bitch answer, I like the p10 series personally and the rxm is a good more budget glock clone.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) may potentially have military surplus shotguns sometime
TL;DR, a new defense bill includes a provision for shotguns deemed "surplus" to be sold to American citiczens via the CMP. It excludes stuff like masterkey stuff, and SBSs, but everything else deemed "surplus" is fair game.

What will come of it who knows. I'd imagine 1897s and adjacent have long since left inventory, primarily replaced by Ithaca 37s and Remington 870s, but who knows. On the other hand, the military sure does love hanging on to literally everything for no reason.

I Imagine the pumps will be coming. 590A1's and so on. maybe some of the clapped out benelli autos perhaps.

I'm not sure I'd go in for one TBH. All the guns likely to be sold are still available even in their military configs. I'd rather have a new gun in the military config than a beat to shit shotgun.

I mean yeah, but it's not US ordnance marked. The CMP is for collectors, not a cheap deal. This is less of a "cheap shotguns soon" announcement as much as a "shotguns with unattainable provenance to be available"

I will continue to shill the "hard R" glock 19 with an enclosed dot for 500$ as a first choice, especially with PSA making frames that are compatible so you could fuck with it down the line.

too small? buy a 40$ or cheaper used large frame from magpul. (or a different color)

IF you want smaller, the p365xl/p365 is nice but a lot of people don't like sig (for good reasons) rn.

Go to a store and get your hands on as many guns as possible, when it comes to a gun specifically for carrying don't be afraid of trial and error i.e. you buy a gun thinking it's the one but it leaves something to be desired. These are learning experiences. You can build an entire system or you can grab a .380 pocket pistol, throw it in a cheap eBay holster and appendix carry it, and anything in between. It can be a bit daunting but you really have to just dip your toes in it to figure out what you want and need.

I've got first-hand experience with the Springfield Echelon Compact, S&W M&P 2.0 Compact, Ruger RXM Compact, Springfield XD Mod.3, S&W 642, and GlockStore M1X. All are fantastic choices for a first CCW pistol and I've carried them all at one point or another.

Other than the 642, all can accept optics and lights, which is a capability you absolutely will want to make use of down the road once you know more about guns. Been there, done that.

OEM Glocks are also great for CCW, the Glock 19 ticks all the boxes for a good first CCW pistol. Simple, reliable, always a known quality to these pistols, and the aftermarket support is great.

The only drawback of an OEM Glock is that the ergonomics are very lackluster because it's made with an old-school European-style grip angle and palm swell, so it makes it way more difficult to switch between that style of ergonomics and the relatively more modern American-style grip angle and straight backstraps you see on most contemporary handguns. This is where the RXM comes in play because it gives you all the benefits of Glock without the ergonomics issues, it's American-style ergos.

* If you trust SIG
A company willing to put out a gun that'll blast a hole through your groin/leg and then gaslight you regardless of evidence isn't a company you should give your money to, let alone trust to defend your life.

There are atrocious issues with sheared firing pins, rust on slides, internals and magazines, dead triggers and slide/striker/rail drag. I have a friend who sent his P365 back to Sig because it was having the last two issues and still had them after Sig shipped it back with a new slide and striker. I looked over the first one and I've never seen a slide with so much wear on the rail channel.

You couldn't pay me to own or carry a Sig product.

at least the 365 doesn't come with shake awake pre-installed.
