There's apparently a new suppressor manufacturer out that are using forced air cooling like a Lewis Gun or Pecheneg to draw cold air into the can to keep it cool. After a 30rnd mag dump on an M4 length AR you can still safely pick up the gun and hold it by the suppressor with your bare hand without getting burned. The company is called Ambient Arms, they're currently available through Silencer Shop, and they've got one .22lr can that is rated up to 5.7x28mm, and one or two 5.56x45mm sized cans that are rated up to 6mm ARC. If they're also a low back pressure design I might have to keep them in mind when I get a can for my AUG, since AUGs don't tend to like traditional suppressors.

I don't like this.

Any good pistols for a first time owner who wants to get a CCW license?
Basically what falcos said except I pretty much only recommend G19 or M&P 2.0 4" (if you want optic ready or a manual safety) and think they might be better than micro 9s as a first gun because micro 9s are harder to shoot well.

For the popular micro 9 class guns: I have tried like all of them, I like the shield plus but there's a caveat; the safety on the TS model is an afterthought and is way too small so I would never buy a shield plus TS. I like my CSX-E a lot for this use case, it's my favorite micro 9 but they are more expensive most. If you want a micro 9 for ease of concealment, the Equalizer is a dark horse, very underrated imo. It is internal hammer single action and has a pretty good trigger, it shoots softer than most micro 9s, it's affordable, the slide is easy to manipulate which matters for some shooters. My wife likes hers, she carries nothing else these days.

Personally, I'm a manual safety guy. I started out with them, I'm used to them, and I often carry AIWB these days and require a manual safety for that. That's the one of the primary reasons my G19 doesn't get carried much anymore. Most people don't care about them anymore, someone will probably sperg about safeties being dumb now, IDC.

I'm building a second one
Bowman kits might be a better option
I just bought a tortort (was 250 a few days ago)
You will get raped when buying a trigger guard if your kit doesn't come with one btw (looks like Atlantic does)
The receiver pictured also looks cut pretty well, the bowman one I got looks like it was cut by a monkey.
I rolled the dice on these Czech M95 mag pouches and they fit the vz61 20rd mags like a glove. The 10rd'ers don't fall too far down either (usable)

If this shits up the thread, let me know and I'll delete it, but I thought you guys might get a kick out of this Vox article they want you to pay to read (not on my watch, archived).

Lmao the coping and SEETHING in that article is amazing. Probably asshurt the SC hasn't ruled the 2024 election to be illegitimate.

Yeah the TS on the Shield Plus is mediocre at best but it will 100% get easier to actuate if you flip it on and off a few hundred times.... Oddly enough the P365 probably have the BEST TS of any small 9mm / .380. oh and the big M&Ps have a wonderful safety design.

The CSX is a literal clone of the SIG P938 / P238 and a CSX and Shield Plus in .380 would b absolute winners (S&W get on it). CSX is single action only tho so you gotta go cocked and locked, just like a baby 1911 (which it is)

A company willing to put out a gun that'll blast a hole through your groin/leg and then gaslight you regardless of evidence isn't a company you should give your money to, let alone trust to defend your life.

There are atrocious issues with sheared firing pins, rust on slides, internals and magazines, dead triggers and slide/striker/rail drag. I have a friend who sent his P365 back to Sig because it was having the last two issues and still had them after Sig shipped it back with a new slide and striker. I looked over the first one and I've never seen a slide with so much wear on the rail channel.

You couldn't pay me to own or carry a Sig product.

I'm really surprised that they just Trump'd their way through that whole scandal. Idk how they're ever going to recover from this

I just discovered something really interesting, what I believe is the only depiction of an Aimpoint PC-80 in literally any form of media ever, and It's on the cover of Marching Through Georgia. I always thought the Draka machinepistols were just supposed to be sa-23's but the woman on the cover (who I believe is supposed to represent the character Sofie Nixon) is unmistakably holding a PC-80 with a shortened barrel. You can even make out the charging handle

I'm looking into getting a momentary switch for my weapon mounted light/laser. I'm not so much looking for a specific model, I'm more interested in hearing about solutions for mounting it on spots that don't have rails or mlok slots.

If I have to niggerrig something with VHB tape I will but I was hoping for something less janky.

TFBTV video on the AXR Daggers and AXR PDW. Not a ton of information but it did clear some things up from the official reveal video

Price: "In between the Dagger and Sabre Dagger," so between $300 and $600. Current Daggers will continue to be manufactured

All parts will be available a la carte, including the FCG (they call it MFC, modular fire control unit). Brace/stock cross-compatibility with the X57 for the PDW. 3rd party metal grips will be available at launch, multiple magazine options (glock and 320 magazines mentioned), all slides RMR cut, no mention of cost on the PDW chassis or other grips but looking at their site the current ones are $99

The AXR Micro's FCG is smaller than the full size FCG so they're separate skus and will have separate incompatible grip modules

No mention of RXM cross-compatibility

In durability testing now, probable fall launch window

Just as a personal opinion thing, I like the charging handle they came up with compared to some of the other options I've seen, mounts to the RMR cut rather than one of the sight post dovetails which always sketched me out a bit

Keltec is so based. This is such a ridiculous combination. Double stack, clip fed, 13+1, pocket .380, with rotating barrel, and an optic.

While everyone else is out there making glocks with minor alterations or FCG variants, Keltec just does whatever they want and I love it.

I'm not aware of the development history of the CSXs but they differ enough from the P938, especially in the frame, that I wouldn't call it a clone. The P938 is a little closer to a 1911. One big CSX-E drawback I forgot to mention; if you put an optic on it you lose your rear sight. This isn't the case with most of the other guns of that class. I tried out as many of the micro 9s as I could last year so my memory may be faulty but I think CSX-E may be the only one that loses the rear sight when mounting an optic.

If you consider it a member of the same class with its length, handle the equalizer TS to compare it with the P365 TS. The Hellcat's is smother and less of a snag or pressure point but still natural to use.
